Winner

Proving their competence with back to back wins in May and June, kuyusu impressed judges with their submission of REDOUT feat. Torika! Pairing unconventional square-like slidershapes with object groupings that make for the perfectly fit the square pattern theme, kuyusu's design choices are something you undoubtedly need to experience first-hand.

Judges weren't the only ones impressed though — 10 of the 12 screeners put this entry in their top 5, just barely scraping by as the highest voted entry this month.

Runner-up

ScubDomino put full investment into this contest's theme with their entry of Tanchiky vs. Hagane - Legacy 8086. Sporting patterns so square-centric that it's hard to even define them as rankable, this entry is a treat for anyone looking for something out of the box.

Congratulations again to everyone who participated in June's MBC! As a reminder, results for recent MBCs in other modes will be announced some time soon (and send pishifat a message if you want to help out with those!).

The MBC involves a lot of people, so don't forget to spread thanks to Akito, Niva, DTM9 Nowa, Chugger, CallieCube, Nozhomi, Cheri, Uberzolik, Mao, Agatsu, Aistre, and Strategas for screening this month's entries, as well as Nuvolina, Fisky, DeviousPanda, Pachiru, Mazzerin, Daycore, Seolv, and h3ct1c for judging this month's finalists!

We'll see you next month!

hi, I reached out to pishifat about osu!mania judging three days ago and didn't get any response yet - I'd just like to know if I should take it as a no, or if pishi is really busy right now + will get to it later, or if things are still being sorted out internally. thanks!

the link to download all submissions goes to a google drive folder with only the 6 submissions that screeners liked most. can someone fix it and reply here to notif me? it seems currently they cant even be dl'd one-by-one

triennial beatmapping contest

another 5th place 😎

not sure how I got a 2/10 on theme when everything is square in one way or another haha.
8/40 and 35/40 from two different judges

in regards to theme, yes all the entries are themed around squares, the points are given with how well a specific map is structured around the square theme or how creative and indepth that theme application is

fowwo DeviousPanda

I know but I just found it funny because I got two 10/10 scores from other judges on theme as well.

I get that it really comes down to the judge's opinion but I wasn't expecting scores on opposite sides of the spectrum is all.

1/10 creativity 😭 and 9/10 creativity 😎

bass slut?

ah, there are many many many other ways to build a map around "squares" than the one that you see in maps such as Bass Slut tho.

feel free to take a look at the winning entries yourself if you're curious, i bet you'd be surprised 😉
