The osu!mania edition of the Mapping Olympiad is back again! Do you have what it takes to become the next Mania Elite Mapper? Join the competition today and find out!
Hello everyone and welcome to the second osu!mania edition of the Mapping Olympiad, where we decided to go back with an old school format!
Are you a new mapper and you want to prove to the world you have enough skills to partake in this challenge, or are you an veteran and you want to make history by becoming the second osu!mania Olympian? If either of these apply, you’ve landed in the right place!
The first Mania edition of the Mapping Olympiad was won by PianoLuigi, who managed to charm all the judges with his entry! Will you be next?
Enough talk, let's jump into action!
For this edition of the contest, we wanted to give participants more song choices to cover everyone's taste as much as possible. As shown below, we picked one song from five different Featured Artists that would fit the most for osu!mania.
As an additional requirements for this contest edition, we wanted to go back to the basics, by asking you to do a full mapset of the song you want. This requires you to map a Normal, Hard, and Insane difficulty at the minimum, with Easy and Expert being the only optional difficulties.
Please note that you can only map one song per keymode, which means you can submit an entry in both 4K and/or 7K.
For each eligible submitted difficulty, the judging panel will award points based on the following criteria:
After all valid entries are judged and the results are finalized, the top three entrants for each keymode will receive the following prizes:
Olympiad contests utilise a points-based system to award the Mapping Olympian badge. Even if you do not win a particular contest, achieving a podium placement in multiple contests can result in the award of a badge. Every 6 points earned will grant a badge level, with incrementation on the badge for each level achieved.
You will have 28 days from the date of this post to submit your entries. Right below, you can find a list of pre-timed .osz from the respective songs that are listed above!
If you're ready to submit your entries, need a refresher on the rules, or just want to keep an eye on the contest deadline, head on over to the contest page!
Good luck and have fun!
