meiqth Olumbus

OwO

That's interesting.

I played all of them and I don't think I got the medal ;-;

that moment when you think you get a shiny new badge but it's just the news being 2 months to late :,(

were nice maps tho

That Paradigm Shift Expert map diff <3
That BUBBLE TEA Insane diff as well, and nami <3

Thinking about that logo though... the meaning... hmmm...

The mappers guild is everything wrong with the ranking process.

Olumbus tatatat

You don't Have to play it. It's Optional you can completely ignore its existence if you want

just to make it clear since it sounds like you are bitter for some reason: the mapper's guild is just a group of community members pooling together to make something awesome happen. any other group is welcome to do the same thing and we will give you just as much support and backing.

they are doing a great job at making something happen which we haven't seen for quite a while.

Stefan tatatat

At least Featured Artists gets mapped.

change my mind

l1mi Stefan

They dont only get mapped, they get well mapped. If someone added the featured artists in the menu under "multiplayer" or somewhere, where you can access all the music with a good overview and see new songs released easy then it would problably get alot more attention.

Im sure such a similar page already exists but its not accessable enough, add it to the client.

tatatat Stefan

Also, who cares if featured artists get mapped? Probably only the featured artists and the osu! team. I only see featured artists as suggestions. Inspiration for something to map. If the featured artists don't get mapped, its not going to hurt any of the players. If someone likes a song, they might map it. If they like a featured artist's song and decide to map it, good for them. But why should some random joe have a disadvantage in the ranking process compared to ELITE MAPPER'S GUILD JOE CASTLE mapping the exact same song. They're mapping the same song, and of course there is differences in everyones' maps and skill sets, but why should one person be given an inherent advantage over someone else? Its obviously not fair.

tatatat Stefan

They'll get mapped anyways. There shouldn't be any dumb incentive to map music you don't like. You should map a song because it speaks with your soul. or something. Not because you know it'll get ranked because you're in a group that gives you special preference. Anyways, all maps and songs that abide by the community guidelines should be on equal standing in the ranking process. I know that ranking a map is all about having lots of social connections, but having an advantage in the ranking process just because you're an "elite mapper" in a special little group isn't fair to everyone else who puts in the hard work and effort into getting a map ranked. All maps should be treated equal.

I love the logo. It combines modern logo design with the sense of old timey steam punk or like runes.

poiuyos SheepeyDarkness

It's a compass

Haha, Yes.

love the medal <3 <3 <3

I thought it was gonna be read :(

I'm gonna post my 2cents worth, feel free to ignore me.

I think the Mappers' guild is an amazing concept, Look, I love medals, I love achievements. Monthly mapsets, i'm all over that, give me more chances to do either and I'm a happy no life weeb, I don't care. But I have to make it explicitly clear, I am a CTB player, and they are STD maps, they are not made for CTB and I know that, but these are my impressions of the maps:

yuki. - Spring Signal
- I really really enjoyed Pishifats map, I found that was really fun to play, the patterns were nice and it felt comfortable, awesome map, even
hit him up about it, like hey look I really liked your map, it translated well, especially for a 3.45*, which in ctb the 3.2 and 3.4* star ranges
(bearing in mind how the star rating system is different for CTB) is often a hit or miss, alot of maps don't translate well to other maps, so
props to pishi for an awesome map.

dark cat - BUBBLE TEA
- Whats awesome about bubble tea is that it's a map we all want to see more mapsets for, its a great fun chillstep themed song, its funky
and quite fun to play in my honest opinion. I liked that I didn't know the mapper, and it was a new mapset to me, that for me was a plus
because it was something new, and I was pleased with how it turned out. I wasn't a fan of the lack of difficulties variations, I got an ar8 as the hardest diff and an ar6 as a hard, it felt like an early 2010 mapset or even earlier for me, and it just wasn't my forte.

LukHash - CLONED
- Cloned, fun map to play, I liked the hard with HDDT the most because that's my preference, I found myself shitmissing for no reason,
but I was hardly focusing and just wasn't prepared for some of the jumps and patterns I was meant to do, which did add to the
replayability, which in a map is a good thing. A nice map, interesting song, felt like it had something to it and the map suited the song
well. Really nice addition to the mapset.

IAHN - Snowdrop
- Snowdrop, another map I found myself playing the easy with HRFL, solely because there was a lack of difficulty diversity, the hardest
diff being ar8, which of course I instinctivley can only play HDDT on, but at 4.09* there was no chance, and the map was not enjoyable
for me nor were any of the slower diffs, but i needed to pass, so I did the easy, I managed a score and to be honest, I deleted the
mapset, it wasn't me, but it's not for everybody.

*namirin - Senaka Awase no Kuukyo
- The other map, Senaka Awase no Kuukyo, by far my least fav maps, I didn't like the patterns, I found myself constantly frustrated and
angry with the map, the more I retried the worse this got. I did not want to play the map. It felt uncomfortable and unnecessary a lot of
the time. It was a style I'm not a fan of, and I couldn't bring myself to set a score on anything but one of the easier diffs with no mod,
just to get through it. Not fun in ctb for me. Thoroughly disappointed in myself for the lack of skill needed to play it well.

sakuraburst - SHA
- Sakura burst, fantastic song I feel like its one of those osu songs that just really suits the rhythm genre and is easy to follow along to
because of the beat and tempo of the song, it suited the map well and I had fun playing both the ar9s no mod and ar8 HDDT. Another
really nice addition, great work with this one, it also translated well for me.

Fractal Dreamers - Paradigm Shift
- Paradigm Shift was another map like all but the last map that I didn't know, but the feel of the song was right, it wasn't mapped too
over the top but I felt some edge playing and really felt like I wasn't doing more than the song required, all in all a good fun map.

S3RL - MTC
- MTC, always been a big S3RL fan, and MTC is a great song for sure, so I found myself wanting to play it no matter what and the
patterns, stacks/streams felt fun and kept me on focus the whole time, I felt challenged but having fun, best map of the mapset for me.

By the end of it, I'm really excited to see what the future mapsets have to offer, and the diversity of the mapping that is to come, both from familiar faces and those unbeknownst to us and myself. I am curious about the mappers guild and to where it will go, I do hope to see more mapsets with other modes included at some stage, maybe in the later months to come we will see those additions of taiko, ctb and mania being added even alongside the standard mapsets.
Excited and eager to try the next round!

Amazing :D
