i once again miss the penguin-tee-puzzle-journal-rook era, and i definitely have regrets and sources of shame about the past

i must've forgotten some good friends of the time that's gone. i suppose i'll apologize in my own thoughts for them. unfortunately, i have not forgotten the people that preyed on me. nor have i forgotten the people that didn't necessarily do anything to me but were the misplaced subjects of my sympathies
not that i don't still sympathize with people. but i fear people too much now to really actively advocate for them nor pretend they're not responsible for one thing or another

notably, the "^ < > v" game and "your thoughts on the user above you" and "ask the user below you any question", as well as "post the time and what you're thinking" or my favorite at the time being "rate the music of the user above's post", and i would often find that "thread necromancy" was easy enough to dump any kind of thought into because you could truly post anything the forum rules allow with no subject/topic to focus on
off-topic by comparison had always seemed a little more complicated for me, and i haven't really understood why, i think i just was more anxious here than in fg for most of the time, so i would near-exclusively frequent fg
maybe that's just how i seem to want to use it, because of how it was when i was there 3-6 years ago
but unfortunately it just feels so much emptier and less meaningful now
