Only denizens can DM questions, and then candidates HAVE TO answer (some of) them. Dwellers have to ask questions themselves and it's safe to ignore them.Patatitta wrote:

Short answer: it's bad, it doesn't represent anything, we aren't even following the rules anymore, there are no use cases, it creates more drama than it does good, and no one even agrees what a denizen is.Kobold84 wrote:

As a person I think he is a great guy but as a President, he did a very bad job. In his time, no parliament election happened which made the already dead parliament to become more dead. I dont hate ymir and poly but I think it was a very bad idea to not choose an election to fix the dead parliament. The government has done nothing other than electing denizen and not even being transparent with the process. It's outdated, leaving a large part of the current active user behind. Imo the requirements are too high and too long, it's not longer reflecting the active userbase of OT. It has to be improved for sure, to it actually reflects active users.Kobold84 wrote:

Sorry eblf2013 to be harsh, but to be honest, he didn't do too much, it was like he wasn't here. There was clearly a lack of activity and actions from him, to a point being sometimes secondary at taking some decision, and members of the council doing much more than what he did. And this rule added mid-elections to remove "inactive" candidate while they already registered, was just wrong imo, both in the idea and the execution. I can understand it was made to avoid inactive users, but this rule should have been added before the elections, and not during the elections. And the fact this was transmitted by someone else and not the president himself is another proof of eblf2013's lack of activity, in addition of being an unfair decision.ClevelandsMyBro wrote:

As I said to manishh, the requirements aren't the problem. The requirement for denizen has changed like 5 times over the years and we still have the exact same problem, it's something more fundamentalCorne2Plum3 wrote:

Discuss? Don't you have any solid plans for it? just like most of us here. Other than inactive candidates. Parliament is same for the past 2 year or i say past 2 president year. Clearly nothing happened or changed in there time. How are you expecting things to change with you becoming president?Hydreigon wrote:

This will be discussed by the government and definitely changed, as this has now have caused problems with our current generation, plans for what will be the appropriate change will be discussed by me, the parliament and other future members of the government such as the future vice president.
As i do have some plans for changes, such as a shorter waiting time but still giving it the fairness and more prestige of one receiving the denizenship title, i still want to discuss this with other members of the government to make the changes right and appropriate to the denizens as possible.
And perhaps a better description of the 10th gen too.
So, you know there is a chance of you becoming inactive and the chances of it happening is not small, Since, thats why you are adding a whole new role. How will the candidate to get the role will be decided? By you? By election?. Why need a vice president role when there is a parliament with 4 members in it?Hydreigon wrote:

Sadly, i wasnt active around the time eblf became president, but from what i could gather, there really wasnt much that happened during eblf's term, due to his less activity in OT.
I dont really want to follow this, hence why i plan for there to be a new vice president role during my term, so that in ever the case i do recede in activity, the vice president can temporarily take control.

I may not fully grasp the question, but on the whole, I believe the current moderators are doing an excellent job of managing Off-Topic (OT!), especially the Kobold and Corne duo. A significant factor contributing to their success is the reduced frequency of low-quality posts in OT! these days. Stefan may require more time to adapt to the evolving meta, and it's understandable; he lived through the Lordship era.Patatitta wrote:

I find it disagreeable. I fail to understand why others find it amusing. It's disrupting the consistency/coherence of the page. If you, as the reader, find it amusing, I regret to inform you that it isn't. It's becoming a nuisance for users who frequent OT! and those looking to engage in discussions on active threads or users who initiate a conversation. Now, everything is a mess, and many may not bother reading the replies due to the lack of effort in the posts.Patatitta wrote:

It's not that I believe Blushing isn't a suitable candidate for Denizen. He's a great person to engage with, and his posts in OT! showcase quality. However, they are not even close to the requirements. I found the post he made on the denizen thread very disrespectful. I dont know if he is active on OT!Neus or not, certainly not here, which is what I value.Kobold84 wrote:

I would 100% revert it, I don't think setting a precedent where we completely ignore the rules and just add denizens based on how much the govs likes them a good ideaKobold84 wrote:

Depends on the gov tbh, if I was the president, I would be a little bit sad, but if not, honestly, more power to you. In the thread I made before I made OT!eras I had a section where I said something along the lines of "Proposals don't work, if you want change, you have to make it yourself.", if the gov went innactive or did a shit job and there was a group of people going, we actually care about this and we're going to push for our version to be better. Where they just copy paste the gov system but actually make it work, that is honestly a good thing and something that should happen MORE often on OTClevelandsMyBro wrote:

I feel a lot of oldfags are very out of touch, ot was better back in my day type thing. Not to mention people like stefan, who are so out of touch that they really don't get a lot of the culture of OT nowadays and do actions such as locking and wastelandind when it really isn't needed/actively harmful to OTClevelandsMyBro wrote:

It's whatever as long as the person actually engages in the threads, if you post 5 posts in a row in a single thread it's also pretty weird but in the end it doesn't really matter, as long as you don't just chain post in multiple threads with single word/letter posts, it should be allowed.Patatitta wrote:

Right now I don’t see any problems with the moderator themselves. Ig the problem is that the punishment is too short. Because back then whenever I got punished it was for 3 days. Now when I saw a user get punished. It is for 80 mins with is just a slap on the wrist.Patatitta wrote:

No, I would keep him since there no problem with him being a denizen. Blushing is an active ot member.Kobold84 wrote:

Kinda hard to not have a biased opinion as I'm literally part of the moderation... I think it's fine right now, I don't see too much issues with it. My only complain is Stefan who sometimes locks threads without any reason... But I think it's because OT changed a lot since he was gone before going back. I think it's just about adapting to the new meta...Patatitta wrote:

I'm relatively neutral to it. I don't think this is a problem as long it add something to the discussion. It's annoying when someone post just for the sake of posting, often saying irrelevant comments... And in Off-Topic in particular I don't think chainposting is a major issue right now...Patatitta wrote:

As a vote, I would probably do a poll to decide what OT people actually wants, as the Blushing addition kinda divides the denizens at the moment, as it's clear the Blushing doesn't meets the current requirement at the moment. I think I'll listen to what the majority wants. But personally I'm divided about what to do: keep Blushing, maybe move them to gen 11, or simply remove them until they meet requirements...Kobold84 wrote:

I mean what even is the requirement nowadays. Blushing has been posting on ot for years now.Patatitta wrote:

I think it was 8 months on continuous activity + an actual big contribution to OT. Also you can just like look it upAsian Warlord wrote:

But at the same time removing him would be pointless because he is still going to get denizenship whenever he does hit the requirement. I’m not sure if gen 10 is gonna end soon if so, if he doesn’t meet the requirement this gen then just move him to the next gen like what corne saidPatatitta wrote:

it's not pointless to remove and then re-add, it's just correcting a mistake. There is no way to keep blushing while still trying to make the requirements something important, if something, leaving blushing transmit the energy of "well didn't die I don't want drama so I'm just going to completely ignore this issue"Asian Warlord wrote:

I dont really like the idea of being able to request for denizenship, as this would open to many ways people abusing it, such as newer denizens constantly begging for denizenship.Kobold84 wrote:

I do have some concrete plans for denizenship such as:Manishh wrote:
Discuss? Don't you have any solid plans for it? just like most of us here. Other than inactive candidates. Parliament is same for the past 2 year or i say past 2 president year. Clearly nothing happened or changed in there time. How are you expecting things to change with you becoming president?
as stated above, another separate election would be held afterwards for the role of Vice President, as for why the need, ...well why not? the government has been really inactive and rather not doing much during my time back and from remarks of other people, and more denizens now active, surely the addition of another wouldnt hurt? and as stated before, the VP can sort act as a more if ever the case of the president dying to cringe, then the current VP would immediately take the role of president and it would be there choice of either, continuing the VP role and electing a new VP or abolishing it.Manishh wrote:
So, you know there is a chance of you becoming inactive and the chances of it happening is not small, Since, thats why you are adding a whole new role. Wasn't the requirements of denizenship part of your complainys to the system and one of the reasons why you made OTEra's?Patatitta wrote:

You are not understanding how far he is from the rules. The stated requirement is 8 Months & 20 Pages of OT PostsAsian Warlord wrote:

There is point in removing him. Its not about if he deserve the denizenship or not. Its about, There was a mistake made, we are just fixing itAsian Warlord wrote:

the shorter wait time
the ban of requesting for denizenship
the change of requirements
I still would give either a Yes or No on which ruling gets passed, its just that i want discussion with the new government so that i can have a more second opinion on it, so that i can see what else can be tinkered, and if the changes can be right and fair while still giving the prestige of one receiving the denizenship title
and yeah, new election for VP and a month after, new election for parliamentas stated above, another separate election would be held afterwards for the role of Vice President, as for why the need, ...well why not? the government has been really inactive and rather not doing much during my time back and from remarks of other people, and more denizens now active, surely the addition of another wouldnt hurt? and as stated before, the VP can sort act as a more if ever the case of the president dying to cringe, then the current VP would immediately take the role of president and it would be there choice of either, continuing the VP role and electing a new VP or abolishing it.Manishh wrote:

There is also other plans i make for the VP role, they can act as a more second in command, being able to make and orders similar to the president, with just now needing the president official permission on accepting so.Wasn't the requirements of denizenship part of your complainys to the system and one of the reasons why you made OTEra's?Patatitta wrote:
yeah hydreigon doesn't really solve anything, again, changing the denizen requirement is NOT a solution and just adding more roles wont fix innactivity at the higher levels
also one thing i want to add is that, i'll try to make it so that the changes to denizenship require arent fully the same with your OTEra system, that way both can exist as separate titles
though i think for you it wouldnt matter as you, as you would most likely abolish the denizenship system or sort of merge the ruling with OTEra's
As for the roles, while i cant fix the disease of inactivity, but i can counter it and make the government somewhat alive, such as giving a ruling where all if a government member even the president isnt active for atleast 1-2 months, then they get automatically kicked out and there roles being replaced, that way, it can somewhat help in making the government active without leaving inactive members in the government.
Also the ruling or one to request leaving the government (though im pretty sure this already exists)
so yeah...

dude, we've talked this in discord, my point is to re-do the system from the ground up, and I also complained about inconsistent moderation, that is also something I want to change, don't missrepresent what i've told to youBlushing wrote:

This entire government election is just going to revert back to the same issues as previous ones. The lot of you think there is an inherent importance to the denizen title yet cant explain why it matters so much other than "Recognition and Hall of Fame", If i cared about actually needing that I wouldn't have named myself something so recognizable as "Blushing".
Revoke it or not I don't care, but you guys are using me to talk about an issue that will always plague the system. There is nothing that can be done until you all put away this fantasy that "I can be the one to fix denizen system", like be so fr.
There are bigger things at work and all you guys care about discussing is "BLUSHINGGGIUIUPiuhiuh NOOOO PLEASE WE CANT hAVE INCONSISTENCIES IN THE SYSTEM!!11!!!!", there is inconsistent moderation in this subforum and I dont see you guys debating that, even when its asked directly to you all. There is inconsistencies everywhere but the only one you guys care to talk about is the one that matters least to the overall forum. Be fr.
