I am one of the few GMTs that actually go into multiplayer and casually play with people. That's all considered part of what a GMT should be doing.
Creating an ambassador role would make more sense for people who "make stuff" other than just being part of the community/moderating
Pushing GMTs to do that would be like pushing BNs to moderate even though that's not what the role is for originally, it doesn't make sense to me

You may think, but there is a good reason for it. There is a strong desire for the GMT to be interweaved with the community. There have been more calls to bring people into the group who's purpose is not strictly to moderate but bridge the gap between community and the GMT/NAT/osu!team.
