You may think, but there is a good reason for it. There is a strong desire for the GMT to be interweaved with the community. There have been more calls to bring people into the group who's purpose is not strictly to moderate but bridge the gap between community and the GMT/NAT/osu!team. Occasionally the idea of community ambassador or some equivalent role would come up, but as of now that's also GMT/NAT's job as well.
