From my observation I feel a delicate border between respecting individual needs and respecting the smooth operation of the community.
In other words, for one to say “All community members be advised: there’s something I don’t like so everybody must avoid involving me to the matter in any shape or form”, they’re essentially asking a favour for the rest of the community to coordinate.
For that, there will be a boundary for the community to decide whether the request is reasonable or just whining about some pitiful harmless thing.
If the latter stands true then one can not just claim that they have needs to be respected, thus forcing the whole community to bow down. The righteousness of such request simply does not exist.

So basically if someone or "the community" does something to another person which makes them feel uncomfortable the best thing that person can do is to ask them nicely to not do so and then raise their butt up to be butt fucked by everyone when they say no?
ColdTooth doesn't ask "the community" to "bow down". He's asking it to respect his privacy.
What ColdTooth asked for is completely reasonable when the subject of the joke is him. Maybe it's not the OP's intention but they were using him as a laughingstock and he felt uncomfortable about it.

It's not "insulting", to say the least, it's uncomfortable. It's like asking an American solider how was the war right after they were the only survivor to escape Vietnam. It's kind of uncomfortable, isn't it? Now the only reason why I say I'm uncomfortable is because I find it the whole scheme of things disgusting. I honestly thought that whole thing in vc was a joke, and I played it as a joke, but you going further just sort of made me realize I had to step in.
Difficult to explain, but overall, could've been taken care of much better, but once again, things fall on deaf ears often. I just hope you understand where I am coming from, and how I think it wasn't very thrilling in my perspective.
