I always appreciate the effort to get people to express some fondness to someone they talk to... which makes me quite surprised that there're people definitely hates to be liked-- or am I interpreting this mistakenly?

Anyway I found this lock quite a shame. The intention was all very nice but somehow we almost had a war.

The intention wasn't nice for me because it took Shin SEVERAL TIMES for him to understand that I don't want my name referenced or placed in the thread. For that, there will be a boundary for the community to decide whether the request is reasonable or just whining about some pitiful harmless thing.

If the latter stands true then one can not just claim that they have needs to be respected, thus forcing the whole community to bow down. The righteousness of such request simply does not exist.

Perhaps I should've stated my reasonings alot better in the first instances. I was slightly uncomfortable, but not as much as when I had lashed out on you earlier this morning verbally. That whole thread just felt really cringe in my opinion, and a few others have expressed their feelings after I had openly stated in a rude intent.

It's not "insulting", to say the least, it's uncomfortable. It's like asking an American solider how was the war right after they were the only survivor to escape Vietnam. It's kind of uncomfortable, isn't it? Now the only reason why I say I'm uncomfortable is because I find it the whole scheme of things disgusting. I honestly thought that whole thing in vc was a joke, and I played it as a joke, but you going further just sort of made me realize I had to step in.

Difficult to explain, but overall, could've been taken care of much better, but once again, things fall on deaf ears often. I just hope you understand where I am coming from, and how I think it wasn't very thrilling in my perspective.

honestly I just feel ashamed more than proud to be a part of the community every time things like this happens. Seeing how OP says no drama but then sparks drama themselves when someone tries to correct them for more correct information, and going further by borderline insult bcs that guy isn't a part of the community, sometimes I just don't wanna associate with it by any means.

From what I've seen, people who aren't heterosexual and/or cis-gendered in America sometimes will get into a bad mindset where everyone who doesn't completely agree with them in every way is automatically wrong and evil, as they often get treated as outcasts or less by family and/or peers at school and end up basically forced into echo chambers online to feel like they belong somewhere.

The reason I left that thread alone is because I saw that they were (probably unknowingly) being confrontational in a passive aggressive way from the first few posts.

Most of the people like that I knew would realize that they were just being close minded and confrontational as they grew up and matured though. I assume since this game is filled with kids, people who act like that are just kind of beginning to find themselves and their identity and take it extremely personally when people don't just automatically agree with them, kids dont exactly have nuanced world views very often.

to that poster if they read this, if you dont agree with something someone says, take it as a learning moment, try and understand their point of view and why they would think that, then if you still dont agree, explain why in a civil manner, always avoid insults - you only hurt your case when you do that.

If you're talking about discussions relating to lgbt stuff, it's because the western world is a lot more into "woke" culture, inclusivity, and whatnot, compared to other cultures from around the world.

Having opinions is one thing, but if you're trying to change the world before you even know what the world is, barely giving yourself the chance to develop as a human being, then you should probably focus on developing yourself rather than spreading your potentially flawed philosophies and flawed ideologies.

A lot of parts of our culture in America are moving towards group identity and tribalism, which detracts from the fact that we are free-thinking sovereign individuals. There's a big movement in the American youth these days to label, group, and classify themselves and others, rather than seeing themselves and others as sovereign individuals. It becomes especially dangerous when a said person who "self-identifies" as a part of these groups cannot distinguish the difference between their individuality and their group identity. If someone slanders or insults your "group", then you are going to be more inclined to take it personally and act out, reciprocating the behavior towards anyone who opposes you. This creates an extremely polarized "Us vs. Them" environment in society. It's an extremely Tribalistic way of thinking. I understand that it's an inescapable fact of society that people will be part of groups and whatnot, and I believe that it's a good thing to find some sort of belonging and group identity, but a lot of people don't understand how to find the balance between individualism and group identity.

I've done a lot of studying about genocides and the people who partake in such things. I understand that this sounds like an extreme comparison, but you can really learn a lot from these horrific acts and how to prevent things like this from happening. Keep in mind, me using this comparison does not literally mean that I think a genocide will occur in America, nor does it mean that we are necessarily headed towards one at the moment. I'm simply showing you how the culture in America and around the world can resemble the stages of a genocide, and how dangerous mentalities like this can be.

There are 8 stages in a genocide. The main ones I'd like to take a look at are 1 2 3 4 and 5, respectively being Classification, Symbolization, Dehumanization, Organization and Polarization. Now, if you look at America in the current day, you can see quite a few instances of all five of these things. Some of it is inflicted by people who oppose said groups, most of the time being the Dehumanization and Polarization aspect. On the other hand, some of it is self-inflicted. By "self-inflicted", I'm talking about the people who are trending towards labeling, classifying and grouping themselves and others. This can be extremely dangerous to one's self and others involved. It opens the opportunity for the next steps to take place after classification. It allows people to form hatred towards your "group" of people, allows them to dehumanize you, propogandize against you and spread polarization. It is part of what creates such polarzied Us vs. Them environments in society today.
