i won't go out of my way to say tournaments ruined my life cuz i have genuinely met irreplaceable friends and made hundreds of memories with all the players i have played with for the past 3 years, nearly 4. but tournaments added to my already concerning addiction to this game. not be the best way to describe my love for this game, but this is the first community i felt welcomed in and could make friends in. it's just so annoying how, respectfully, so many players can so easily get a badge, even multiple, from playing just a few tournaments either from being carried or pure luck. been playing tournaments actively for the past 3 years and rlly trying my hardest, especially the past 2 years pushing for a badge to no avail. at the time of writing this, 6 times i have gotten a second place finish in a badged tournament and it's just so exhausting to have come this far just to choke first place cuz of the other team's skill diff, bad/unlucky performances from me, and/or unresolvable circumstances. all of this is a result of me overthinking, but having taken a gap semester off college to better my mental and be happier with the things i do, the results of my tournaments arguably made everything worse. it hurts to not win at something i love doing. my time for tournaments is nearing its end and i think it's time to retire and just play for fun. it's just not worth putting in days of effort into practicing to get nothing out of it. might be better to enjoy the game how i use to 5 years ago
