this is why democracy is bad patatitta should've immediately seized as much power as he could and established a dictatorship
First of all, even if he wanted to, he would never be able to initiate a real dictatorship in this place because of he's helped by the government who also have to play their part in the system

Second of all, the people must also play their part in the president's decisions so that we always find a balance between what he wants and what we want. Without that, it would be hell basically

It's one of the president's duties to know the constitution. Ignorantia juris non excusat.
But even so, there's still a trial to decide.
Counterpoint: former government didn't even know there was a constitution and are now trying to use it against the current government.
Parliament not being elected is clearly the worst offense here.

Also considering the constitution was never really enforced and was made at a time when OT was very different it makes no sense to start enforcing it now.
Example of that is the oath, if the constitution was made today it wouldn't be a thing and no one actually cares about it, some dude just dug it up with the intention of abusing it to go against the result of rightful elections.

All in all if there is a trial it will be in bad faith.

I fail to see how the former government is using that against the current government. Jang was never in the government in the first place, not to mention there was no former government. Eblf acted on his own during his term, everyone posing as the parliament or the government during that period were all simple denizens acting on behalf of the president. Which is unconstitutional, mind you.

"it wouldn't be a thing" is not actually true. You don't know for certain if it would or would not be a thing. The oath is in place and it's a duty of the president to upkeep it. It's not hard.

I'll replace Patatita as president

It's actually possible.

OT Constitution wrote:

XXXV. In case of the removal, death, resignation, or inability to perform duties of the President, the OTParliament may appoint an officer who shall act as president until the inability is removed or a new president is elected.

The one who is appointed by the parliament to act his place. Could be anyone, really.

The OT!Parliament will therefore have to organize mini-elections between them to decide who will replace the president who represents an entire nation...

Unfortunately, the constitution does not specify WHO should host the parliamentary election. And we can't find any law that could be used to retroactively prosecute the former president.

So kobold, if the consistution says that only denizen should be allowed in the election, then why are we allowing a non denizen in the parliament. why should he have the voting power? decisions seems quite biased here

It only mentions denizens participating in the president elections. For parliament elections, there's nothing.

We allowed a gov with no elections so yeah I don't think that's a problem.
Having a wave of new denizen just before elections has been done before too so that's not really new.
Manishh
of course government will allow something which benefit them lol

plus there were restrictions on who can or can not participate in the parliament elections too:

Patatitta wrote:

The only requirement for voting or participating in this thread is to have been active for at least 3 months in the past 12 months. So this means, appearing on OT every 3-4 days for 3 months straight over the span of a year, in the case of any edge case, it would be brought up in this thread and discussed.

There are NO denizenship requirement
so people such as zain, qwt and Mr Asian didnt fit the requirements, but blushing was able to fit the bill
really at this point the newer people who fit these requirements are more so underway or almost there on being denizen
plus its so much better having a more active person on OT in the parliament rather than a denizen that just comes and go from time to time

also it was a tie in 5th-6th place between Ymir and Blushing, and similar to me and reyalp back then tying for the 4th slot, potato man chose blushing over ymir, so technically, there was a bit of bias too it

so yeah
Manishh
what do you mean potato man chose blushing, didnt you had a vote?
