You could try average - standard deviation, may not work well if there aren't many votes thoughPatatitta wrote:

The upside imo is that it reduces score for threads that are very divisive

yeah but that only gives you the standard deviation, which isn't really a number from 0/10, I need to weight that into the averageCorne2Plum3 wrote:

average = left
deviation = right
do you want to do average * average - deviation or average * (average - deviation)?Karmine wrote:

average = left
deviation = right
SQRT(average*average-STDEV(...)) would work better, reduces the impact of stdev but keeps it significant for high values
Otherwise you can ask abraker, he's the expert for that kind of thing
The former, other wouldn't make much sensePatatitta wrote:

Now if the abraker's thread doesnt get a green i will literally riot
Also can you filter the leaderboard by score: highest score being at the top lowest score being at the bottom, or is it too hard?
sure, will do the first, idk for how long do I plan for this thread to go so idk about the secondHydreigon wrote:
It looks much neater and more like a leaderboard, also maybe include the name of the person who made the thread next to the title? so people dont get confused with the titles.
Also when the leaderboard get too crowded in the future will you make a new one? maybe like one per month.
wont rate old threads sorryCorne2Plum3 wrote:

I think with threads like abraker's game thread it's being rated highly because of the potential it has. It's the only thread I've rated 10 so far as well. I think this is a problem because the rating might not be reflective of the actual thread because we all end up voting on it a day after its been created instead of voting when we've seen how the thread plays out. Same thing with sametdze's thread, right now it's literally "I'm making a collab" and a bunch of people going "/in" but it's rated a 7 even though it has no actual substance yet. I think it's more fair to vote on these threads after they've panned out, or at least have a revote with them, but idk if that's practical with how long you plan to do this. Maybe add another column saying that the thread is in it's early stages or the vote was premature or something?Patatitta wrote:
also it's interesting to see the two abraker threads so high up when the actual game itself seems to have failed, it seems that just mentioning other denizens in a post will make it seem like it's better ig
I have a thread with 0.53 deviation, being the best rated, and another with 2.84 deviation, being rated as the third worst, and with the second highest deviation (if I saw it right).Patatitta wrote:

I'm sure some people here would want them to go completely, for one reason or another. I don't know, really. I just honestly have no idea how you would even make a green thread and I doubt I have what it takes, so I just gave up on that idea.Kobold84 wrote:

but you still gotta win the RNG of the voting, like the threads that i thought would be green ended up getting 6's or 5'sPatatitta wrote:

these had atleast some effort and i gave them 8-10's, but got rated lower.
actually looking at the list again, i realize there is a lot of threads that i scored lower but got rated higher lol

Pretty much, I think anything above 7 is a good thread, 9-10 is an extremely brilliant thread. Different people have different ideas about ratings, but when all of them vote together, it averages out.Karmine wrote:

my point is, if this thread didn't exist, and you saw something like the double image thread die after a while, you probably wouldn't have thought that the thread was that good as it just died day 2, same with the abraker board gameBehrauder wrote:

+ I say it's the same idea as the structure of the threads, even the text color is exactly the same, just replacing one weird tech with another weird tech, + this is the first time you post threads like this so close to each other in time, just after I made this thread which claimed your threads were good
