Explanation for the change in background (spoiler warning!):

The show this song is from presents itself as a slice of life "cute girls doing cute things at school" anime, but is slowly revealed to be a post-zombie apocalypse survival anime about these girls trying to survive. As the series goes on, it starts to get darker and darker to reflect the true nature of the show, which is why the difficulty starts off being bright and colourful in the Easy difficulty, then slowly starts to lose its colour as the difficulty increases, and then changes to show the post-apocalyptic setting in the hardest difficulty.
You can click on the Insane difficulty name to find a pointless conversation explaining why we ended up going with Insane as a difficulty name instead of a custom name

*i was following the drums here rather than the vocals, so i don't think i'm gonna be changing this

The current rhythm is more intuitive because the player is clicking on the stronger beats.

the distance snap you chose here is kinda shit. people usually choose to either overlap 1/2 (like what would be 1.1x or lower ds for you) or space them (which would be 1.4x and up). either would work fine, but being in the middle makes for poop aesthetics and really obvious minor spacing inconsistencies, like 01:55:597 (4,5,6) - is barely spaced apart, then 01:57:218 (1,2,3) - is barely touching and it is triggereing me so hard
so basically im saying to rearrange objects with a different distance snap g decided to lower it to 1.1; will take some time to fix everything so yeah edit: k i fixed it and everything should be 1.1x now
and that being ill just not mention anything else

i really don't get what you're doing with the BGs like is this supposed to be the transcendance into the inevitable death of the characters, as they fall deeper and deeper into the eternal abyss of death or like are you just trying too hard to make something creative

Like if you want to do that you could always just storyboard it in too because like now I'm like playing insane and it's literally just like S A D B O Y S like why am I sad
