irl osu friends

Whenever I tell a friend I know in real life that I play OSU, I always get one of the two answers.

1. "Ew, take a shower, yuck"
2. "Oh my God, me too! I only play [insert Osu game mode that isn't standard] though"

I find it funny how Osu!Std is the most popular game mode and yet, I always seem to find people who exclusively play Osu!mania and or Osu!Taiko. I have lost count of how often this has happened to me, but it has happened enough times for me to notice.

Other gamemodes are popular too. Your immediate environment has individuals that play those other gamemodes.

I play multi with someone from my High School.

Game used to be semi-relevant for a short while in my class during 2021, the boys would play standard at the back of class instead of doing work, though this period was short lived.

Strangest interaction for me was someone showing me the "Mr.Wilson" Aireu video on their laptop before I told them I played the game.

I think it was online classes back then? Classes were online only here.

They played with their trackpads on default skin without accounts lmfao it was wild (just playing maps at the same time, not multi). They were having fun though, constantly screaming about it.
2 guys from that group stuck with it and ended up playing on accounts with me for the rest of the year, lockdown was fun.
