So it was around 11am on Tuesday. I was working at home, listening to my Spotify playlist. All of the sudden I hear a bang outside. As if something REALLY heavy was dropped. Then came a very low rumble a second that shook my window for a couple seconds. I was still in my headphones and a bit weirded out, paused. I saw no flash, so didn't seemed like nuclear winter was coming.
I looked outside puzzled. Well something definitely blew up. With the "power" that felt like a house blew up from a gas explosion or something. But the low rumbling felt like lightning in the distance, A LOT more powerful. I started googling to see if there was anything on Twitter or stuff. It took around 10 min for reports about the recent earthquake here to come up on the web, so I spent a bit of time looking. Still nothing.
A week later I came across the article: https://people.com/meteor-exploded-over-nyc-at-38000-mph-rare-daylight-fireball-8679363
Apparently a meteor exploded 30 miles above the city. Well now I know what a meteor explosion sounds like. Also NYC was 30 miles from being leveled. That's crazy
