this was honestly a pretty funny video, my favourite part was the "you have now obtained the french!" part. just goes to show how wild AI can be sometimes.

the screaming jumpscared me. once i actually realised what was happening that's when i started to chuckle. plus, those birds are actually cute.

a rather unique video about a guy reviewing a medieval sword. it was jam-packed with information, but it was hard for me to pay attention since swords aren't really my thing. that one part where the guy is sort of swinging the sword around was sort of funny.

third time a thread like this is made, third time I request this video, will it be the first time someone actually sits through it?, only one way to find out!

watched a bit of winny's video and a little bit of patatita's video. so far both aren't bad. anyways here's all the short videos

this video is wild. yes, its a shitpost but its an insanely cinematic shitpost. i know i might sound insane while i write this but i honestly have to say that that video was incredible to watch, and im being 100% serious. the action paired with unravel makes a really cool combo, plus this was actually sort of well animated too. watching the last remaining big chungus use his uno reverse power which absolutely wrecked shaggy while shrek, matt and yobama watch is amazement was incredibly cool. genuinely an awesome video i loved it

the actual song itself wasnt funny but 8bitdrummer's goofy laughs made this a fun watch

first one was just a cute cat licking himself. i really dont know what to say other than the cat is cute.

second one was just a couple of cats just sort of doing their own thing. cute! one thing i do find weird about this video is how often the cats stare the camera down, the music doesn't make it any better..

third one was a video explaining how to make an oddly comforting cheesecake. the piano and sounds of the plates and stuff made this video relaxing to watch.

it was genuinely so unconventional and deliberate it actually had me go back to watch that intro and take in the moment of it. the editing of that video,, i only could keep my attention in place for maybe twenty minutes and then forgot about mostly everything-- all i remember is my impression of "buku's summer break? doesnt that read as my summer break instead?" and some prefacing exploration of the essayist's experience with having consumed all of the media of [company name with a c, i forgor], then realizing the company was reported to have very little to do with the making of the game, and... yeah im not sure if i remember much more

That is why I love that video, I don't think I can make any other video in youtube that's like that, for better or for worse. Tim rogers uses the structure of a video review and your expectations of the genre and the medium to tell a story, as very little of the video is actually focused on the game, but instead, the experiences he lived prior to playing the game and how that game affected their life in the future, I feel that video is closer to a weird experimental film than an actual regular youtube video.

In fact, there are many things he says in the early part of the video that doesn't really make much sense until a lot later on the video with certain reveals tim rogers does

This video for me proves that real, high quality art pieces can be done in youtube, in part due to it completely subverting your expectations of it

every time someone asks me for a yotuube video or whatever I recommend that video, so far, only one person has ever watched it in full and they agree with me

it's like, the flow is very... Something, and it's not negative, but it's not totally conventionally intuitive, so makes me really have to try to understand but then i still dont understand

and i LOVE that tim expands his thoughts around the context of the game. i always crave to see what kind of things frame people's experiences with something. i know that i won't necessarily truly understand, but it helps me to approximate it better and allows me to be a little more convinced that i might be able to "ground myself" in the reality they experience. i remember NOTHING about the way the game was described. i saw bugs, i saw people standing, i saw sweet summery imagery. i saw tim in different poses making different expressions and then direct my attention to the screen to point out the location where that one company/studio logo was

i KNOW i was interested, but i just was not quite ready. maybe i will revisit it when i have the spoons for it, and i hope someone will be able to share their thoughts more substantively with you about it and respect the time and meticulousness involved in the idiosyncratic features of that video
Patatitta
fun fact, I don't know if you reached or remember this part of the video, but the game NEVER actually got a release or a translation outside japan, not even a fan translation, it's a game that unless you know japanese cant play. But thanks to the release of that video, a project to translate boku no natsuyasumi 2 started and now is actually a playable game which I have been meaning to play

Also, tim rogers has like 6 videos total?, and one of those other, older videos is about another untranslated japanese videogame called tokimeki memorial, and now, a translation for tokimeki memorial 2 is in the works, directly thanks to that video

also, apparently one of the first games hideo kojima ever worked on was a spinoff of tokimeki memorial, the more you learn
Achromalia
i am so not acquainted with these contexts to understand the full weight of how interesting this must be, but i kind of get it! i unfortunately dont have direct responsive comments on what you're sharing, but still! it's neat as far as what i imagine/intuit of it

none of this rung a bell so i dont think i got that far, but i now wonder if i actually Did see this game through another youtuber for a brief moment. some other video essayist around some more specific parts of the review-y community

i just have not yet settled my roots here beyond the specific space i've vaguely hovered around, i have no idea of the history of this, so i guess im more of a very out-of-their-depth onlooker that is happy to listen to your thoughts here

since when were goanimate videos like this? like when i was growing up and when i was watching these videos the camera didn't move at all and the videos usually lasted like 3:06.

besides my shock to how goanimate has evolved, the video is still pretty bad and in general pretty awkward
