GMT REPORT FORM

This threads main use is to suggest ideas to the government, complain about it, or anonymously report GMTs for using their powers unfairly.

If you've had a thread locked or wastelanded unfairly before, you can use that form to anonymously submit a complain that both the government and the GMT's will check

So what exactly are you going to do if a GMT abuses their power?

idk will see how active this thread becomes

the gov has full support from all current OT gmts, so we can get actions done as long as a concensus is reached in parliament

Wait this is not ruining tho, the opposite imo.

We should overthrow the government tbh.

okay, OT, I need opinions

Some of the pinned thread are a mess, mainly The chronicles, The art of OT, and The Royal Directory

The chronicles are basically dead with no one to update it right now, we could update it, but I fear no one honestly even really cares about it anymore?, I don't think many people in OT have actually read it, so it would kinda be just wasted effort

The art of OT is just outdated, a lot of the advice it gives doesn't hold up to 2024 OT, a lot of it is just repeating what the edict said, a lot of sections like the part on how to make friends is kinda weird an I don't know why they exist in the first place, and again, it's a lot more text that new users are supposed to read (because again, no one actually does it)

and for the directory, half of those threads are dead, (red line means dead)

I think this is something we should aim to fix but tbh I haven't got a clear idea on how to do it. There are a couple ideas in the parliament but none of them so far are rock solid, so i'm asking the general public for ideas

Surely wont be permabanned for reporting the wrong gmt

again, you're not reporting purely to the gmt, the reports are public to everyone in the parliament, and if the parliament agrees on a outcome, the gmt is kinda forced to follow it as long as they aren't assholes

also, for the guide and stuff, i'm just thinking on entirerily unpinning the art of ot as it doesn't say anything substantial, there is also the idea to update the art of ot but idk if that's going to be the best long-term

The High Tier Echelons of OT

Yeah that can go, an award thread that hasnt been active and havent given out any awards recently.
I guess someone could takeover and try to revive it and give awards, but really other denizens probably have made or will make there own awards.

-

Lock records:

Inactive...

Remember when we all counted every locked threads for each Overlord?

Pepperidge farms remembers

-

Here ye, here ye!

Inactive, though the idea of logging the governments doing in one thread is not bad.

-

Lowest post count:

ay i liked that thread, tried to get it once, but ended up with 21

but yea, bye bye

-

Executionary Tales:

old

-

OT's Royal Museum of Art

I like this thread, it showcases the different arts of denizens in OT, highlights the art pieces without needing to search and look for it, awards there efforts by there art pieces being in a pinned thread for people to see, and showcases each of the different denizens, who they are and there character they represent at least in some way

Im in favor of keeping but making it exclusive to denizens drawings or art collabs with multiple denizens only, just that too active due to the lack of art pieces being made

-

The OT!Chronicles

One thing i planned if win as president was to revive the chronicles, i want it kept and be updated too, with more of the modern happenings around OT, such as games and events and whatnot and keeping some older stuff like, when this certain denizen first arrived and when they become denizen etc

I dont read the entirety of the chronicles cause it being a giant wall of text, but i do use it to fact check or reference old events that happened in the past and the likes by ctrl + f and finding, without needing to use the osu search bar.

-

List of mapping drama

Ah cool thread, but not updated due too the absence of abraker and no one caring to update it too much
I guess the reason why its in OT is cause its more so a discussion directed for the denizens of OT, who i think some at the time didnt follow much of the news and happenings around osu.

-

OT OVERLORDS

-

as for The Art of OT never really payed attention to it and wasnt around when it was made, it is somewhat longer than even discord server rules so... it can go.
Karmine
Gonna try to keep it short.

Pinned:
Keep ITT 2, Shitpost, Library, Directory
Remove Chronicles and Art

Directory:
Keep Eras, Valhalla, Presidents, Events, Denizen, Museum, Chronicles, Overlords
Remove Echelons, Lock, Here ye, Lowest, Execution, Mapping

Idk about keeping Shitpost pinned, it would probably still get posts without being pinned or the posts would move to ITT 2 since they're sometimes kinda the same thing..

Valhalla should have update messages when it's updated though, I thought it was dead.
Overlords are no more but it's part of the history so I think it can stay.
Hydreigon

Karmine wrote:

For me personally, the ruling also has been:

Shitpost thread: shitposts

ITT2: Either for the people that: A. Used up there daily thread but want to talk or share about something or
B. People who are too lazy to make a thread

also old denizens tend to appear in that thread from time to time.

And i do think it being pinned does help it garner posts as the posts gap tend to be days long, making it easy to be buried in here, and i think older threads tend to be rarely revived nowadays plus im not sure how many people will try and look for it too.

i do miss thee Yelling Thread
Blushing
In my time here in OT and my longer time in other threads, this is the one subforum that actually reads the pinned posts and takes the time to assess what to post... oddly enough.

I wish there could have been a different "Pinned threads" "Rules and Guidelines" areas so that pinned threads are not cluttering the basic information that people need before posting or during their posting shenanigans.

As for what to keep pinned, I believe that pinned posts should serve a purpose for why they are pinned. If there is a thread that is constantly getting activity that (i.e. SHITPOST) then it serves no purpose to be pinned since it will pop up in the first page of OT almost always.

Threads like "ATTENTION <>FAGS + Others" is one that has relevancy and importance to the ecosystem of the forum, but is notoriously hard to find unless you have it bookmarked.

I think that projects such like OT Library, megacollabs, and (just because it was funny, all the "abraker sings I want it that way or we RIOT Part <x>") like Weekly English Post. Stuff that is time sensitive that garners a lot of reactions to play but may not always get the limelight.

welp... thats my 2c

While this will be a double post, they are not exactly the same so I really would like for OT Gov and GMT to consider what is in this post as well.

Patatitta has started off with trying to clean up and modify OT in a way in which sets up future generations success and can lead it onto the right path.

Creating a thread from GMT with the GMT report Link (not abuse@ppy.sh) would be nice. Titling it something that is not obscure and can be known what it is without having to click on the thread. Literally: "Government Complaint Form and Link". While Patatitta did a good job with instating this, this thread will ultimately get thrown into the depths of OT and only be brought up when someone was like "Oh wow didn't know this existed".

I'm not sure if Patatitta and parliament are wanting to create more subsidiaries of using forms and links to "petition" ideas.

I think Art of OT, OT!Chronicles (its already inside of Royal OT Directory), and SHITPOST should be unpinned. Create a new and locked thread with the new GMT/Government abuse form, and create a new pinned thread listing current members of Parliament and President so that people can easily see who they can contact if something is amiss.

Blushing wrote:

This could be done on this thread's OP if it gets pinned, would make it easy to access government stuff for everyone.

@Blushing I personally think 'Shitpost'thread does deserve to be pin, It is similar to G&R 'Post your score here'. The purpose of it is to prevent more shitpost just like how the purpose in gr is to stop threads like 'How is my gameplay' or 'Vod review'

I see the point. I take "ITT: We post something neither funny or..." as the shitpost thread imo. I dont think it relevant to have two... but I do see the idea behind it.

I dont see the point why both "ITT 2: We post shit that is neither funny nor interesting" and "SHITPOST THREAD" are pinned. They are literally used for the same objective, which is to post shit on it

I personally do agree with you, but even when the thread got changed to schizopost, people just wanted to make the thread the same as always, and even when the option to make it not shitpost but something actually different came up with the poll, people STILL refused, so yeah, I don't we're going to be able to unpin that thread lmao

technically triple post but I don't care

We're discussing what to do with denizen, the current problems of denizen are:

-no one actually understand how denizenships works

-no one actually agrees on what denizenship is

-denizens are inconsistent over the ages

-denizenships not being given after the time has past

-generations switching for no reason

-Denizen causes more drama and toxicity than any positive thing, so denizen does more harm than it is good

so, how do we fix this problem?, we're have discussed tings in parliament but I want to hear your general opinion, if you guys can suggest full fledged propositions and not like "I don't like this thing in current system", please do
Ymir
Not saying that I want this, but I have thought several times about a reality where the parliament doesn't choose Denizenship, but previous Denizens and the community do.
Usually I stop thinking about it because I have no idea how this would work.

Well it's still only the government who makes Denizens, I meant people outside the government have their say on each Denizen too, as opposed to a body of like 4 people.

It's one of the only ways we could make Denizenship free from Drama. Just throwing the idea out there, I'm personally fine with the current method though.

A lot of issues with this idea.

1: electing denizenship is the only thing a government do, you are stealing there job

2: Very slow and long process. This is like adding paper work in OT! Waiting for approval of everyone.

3: will need to create its own guidelines. Ex a guy won by just couple votes should be consider denizen or not

4: will lead to inconsistency since a government will announce if there rules or views has change for denizen but public will not do that. You don't know if the criteria for denizenship is even being considered by the voter.

Hence why I never pushed for a complete democracy system anyway. But if reducing inconsistency and drama is something we are aiming for, then community voice should be considered in some way.

As for stealing your job, that's funny.
Blushing
the main issue is that people still see value in denizenship.

My Rant About it
The change needs to more proactive approach to adding people that meet the "requirements" or whatever you want to call it.

Currently there are like 6(?) dwellers that post and everyone else is denizen, and even less of them care about whatever you government officials are cooking.

===============

As for changes that affect the ENTIRETY of OT, it should ask all constituents rather than just the "government", the government is in, itself, heavily biased and does not represent the whole of OT and those who post. I can already feel the next question, "Well why would I care about what a 0 post player cares about OT?". Ok why do you care what a denizen who has no "good" posts, broke multiple rules/laws, is generally not able to understand past their own hubris, etc.

===============

if you want people to give a damn about what you are doing then add more people to denizen, make denizen mean something other than "status"-locked voting that is easily riggable or is completely just a popularity contest... Like IDK: Anonymous voting where only their campaigns are visible and not the username, because being biased is being biased (this is something america should implement).

Addressing Manishh
1. electing denizenship is the only thing a government does? Ok you are the government... do something other than that lol? You guys are the deciders of what you can do. be the change? Idk, very reductive and very american politician (I say all of these things, then nothing is done because I now have the position and will never be impeached)

2. An entire voting of everyone voting for the denizens seems like a good idea. You guys forget that making a post as an official body or through the GMT can and should be done when announcing official change or something like that. I literally dont understand why its a vote of a few people, but the rest of the OT world is unable to put their own opinion (except for when it comes to removing them... apparently).

3. OK THEN STOP BEING LAZY AND MAKE THE GUIDELINES, YOU WANTED THIS POSITION STOP BEING LAZY!

4. Again, criteria for denizenship is hardly objective. So much so that the current president has an entire thread for such a thing, and is actively wanting to change the current system. Voters in other democratic processes don't always know what the person is going for and they are only voting because they like the campaign or because they like the person in general. Being a denizen does nothing passed getting to vote in elections and being able to run, which can be changed on the whim from the president, so idk why it matters.

5. Stop holding a title with no meaning to a higher standard just because you met a post count in a year.

while I disagree with manishh in the fact that the gov does more things other than adding denizens (manishh should know, they are in the gov and done things other than adding denizens), it's true that pushing actual changes to denizen under that system would be a fucking nightmare

also about what blushing said about denizen, you just REALLY want denizen

anyways, let's not talk too much about the actual gov structure and talk about denizen itself since that is the thing I asked

I dont see a reason why it will reduce inconsistency, though I get your point. But in my experience, whenever there have been public talk about denizenship, nothing useful has came out of it and nor will there ever be. When it comes to discussion, everyone is a brick wall, even me.

4: Denizenship was never made to give power, it was a hall of fame, A way of preserving history. It has a value for me, maybe not for you.

5: Why are you even talking about it when you dont see any meaning in it?

A majority of the actives in the subforum simply dont care what happens to OT because not much changes and probably won't.

To continue to address this:

1. joke statement

2. This is when governments then start to do this fun and cool thing called cabinets. Cabinets can help aid the central circle of governments without having to interfere with the main stuff, like policy changes and such. Maybe OT government should delegate certain tasks to people not already holding a position. This might help the feeling that you can't add everyone in the backlog vs. wanting to add those who deserve it.

3. Actually kind of hilarious saying that something is too much work so it will never get done. Creating guidelines and creating statutes so that processes are slow and annoying in the beginning are then easily done in the later lifetime of the government.

4. If it is simply hall of fame type stuff then why are some things locked behind it? There is "inherit" worth in the title, it would help with the misconception of it being about "elevating" someone to a higher prestige and instead could cement that it is simply an award for being recognizable within the community.

5. Because beside me and like 5 other people there is no one caring enough about it. So someone has to.
