Above is an audio rendition of the following statement that you can choose to listen to if you wish. There is no additional content there besides me saying fuck when I mess up a roman numeral.
it has come to my attention, as well as the attention of the OT!Government at large that an insurrectionist group of Padoru supporters has formed the PadOT!Coalition with the intent of becoming a permanent governing entity. While I have remained neutral during the Fourth Padoru War, I must now take a stand against these actions that blatantly infringe on the OT!Government's right to perform its duties.
There are a few key points in their so-called "governing rights" that are in direct violation of the OT!Constitution. To directly quote Article A, section III,
TeeArctic1 wrote:
III. The OTParliament has the duty to:
- a) Set and absolve laws; set taxes, fees, tolls and other official burdens.
b) Keep track and uphold official institutions.
c) Keep track of and uphold intra-forum industry.
d) administrate the OTPD and other government agencies.
e) Ensure quality remains within the forums
While they can certainly say what they like (I have no intention of restricting anyone's freedom to roleplay as silly made-up government officials since that'd just make me a hypocrite), I will remind everyone that the only true governing force on Off Topic is still the OT!Government, and no denizen or dweller shall be forced to comply with alternate laws unless they choose to do so on their own accord. I strongly encourage the PadOT!Coalition to remove all stipulations that imply either that all active posters must be beholden to their rules or that they supersede the given powers of the OT!Government.
In addition, I would also like to request that any research on weapons or any other warfare technology be dropped immediately. This is not out of any violation of the OT!Constitution, but rather out of concern for a prolonging of the Fourth Padoru War.
I do not want a war. This statement is not a declaration of one. I feel as if there is plenty of time for adjustments to be made without coming to such a drastic conclusion. In addition, I do not wish for the PadOT!Coalition to disband, as according to article C, section XXIX.a, they are well within their rights to choose to join any organizations that they wish. However, if the PadOT!Coalition refuses to follow these terms and continues to infringe on the rights of not only the OT!Government, but the denizens and dwellers of OT as a whole, they will face the true extent of the previously incorporated GhoulyMart™'s power.
Yours truly,
President Ghoulybits
