Obviously I have people that I get in contact with since this year I'm not having online school but I really wouldn't call them(classmates) as friends and I definitely don't see my parents as friends. And as far online friends goes I have no idea how to make them lol

No. But I had a friend from 5 years ago to 4 years ago, it was cool.

2 "irl" who i've never met with irl in 5 & 7 years respectively, and we talk maybe 8 & 2 times a month respectively-- the first is an amazing casual friend with one primary shared interest which we talk about all the time and i always enjoy reading/editing/supporting her writing for blogs and theories, the second is a more isolated vinyl-enthusiast friend with a shared interest in exchanging music and i tend to participate in exchanging real-life experiences/troubles with him and i always enjoy hearing how he connects with music and how he grows to persevere despite seriously depressing circumstances

2 online who are both inactive, both were met at approximately the same time 4 years ago as artist friends-- the first now has a life for herself where we haven't spoken in months (she has irl friends and lots of academic work to do) & the second Also has a life for herself where we haven't spoken in weeks (she married and had lots of real-life events to adapt to)

so i think my irl friends are more of my actively-online friends than my online friends themselves...
everyone else is in some awkward space of being either a very distant old friend, or we're something like ambiguously cordial acquaintances :O

those irl friends were initially just friends of circumstance through others that adopted us, and although it was a nomadic kind of relationship with me phasing in and out of different tiny clusters of acquaintances (2-4 people at a time), those two were people i could comfortably stay with

the online friends... were also friends of circumstance, but one of them was in fact the one to adopt me into her mostly-vetted tight-knit circle of people, while the other friend would develop a more one-on-one personal bond with me while we were being adopted into that same circle, which became a little island of complicated experiences until she had to engage with important irl things

i think that describes things overall :>

i don't know exactly how we came to accept each other as friends but i am glad that we had what we had
