we already talked about this in the discord, it's better from a moderation standpoint to just delete whatever is infringing on a thread than to mute the person and leave that up or whatever, also, if the point of deleting something without muting or whatever is to not make a big deal of a situation, giving warnings and talking publicly about it would go against that ideaPolyspora wrote:

not long ago 3 or more posts were deleted here, mr winnyace probably reported me because I called him a pussy for having double standards, no warnings, no muting, no nothing. just gone. they're trying not to "make a big deal about it" anymore, by just deleting what they dont see fit to be here.
yeah but just deleting it doesnt solve the issue, its a temporary fix. the person will keep being an asshole and the community will keep going down the sewer. there was something special about warning and telling which rule was broken, to not be repeated, it surely helped me understand how things worked here in the beginning.Patatitta wrote:

They're very silent, actually, to the point where if Poly didn't bring this topic up, I wouldn't have noticed that my own comments on this very thread were deleted (and rightfully so). I agree that deletion of such comments is better than punishing the member with silence, but I think we should be notified in some way that our posts were deleted for x or y reason, as well as why we were muted. Without linking to something that shows such behavior, we're left to guess sometimes why we got muted.Blushing wrote:
0. The deletion should serve as a (silent) reminder to behave before we actually take action.

I don't think there's a good way to do this currently without wasting your own time, though. peppy and his team should come in and add more transparency to mutes, post deletions, etc., something I don't foresee happening.

Why not go to Mint or Pop or perhaps a different base entirely? Fedora is a pretty friendly option nowadays from what I've tried.Corne2Plum3 wrote:
With the 23.10 version I managed to get rid of snap and use apt for firefox, thunderbird, but maybe when I upgraded to 24.04 it broke something (and thus I has to reinstall everything)

Unsure if I want to move to something which isn't Debian based and Mint doesn't have KDE plasmaWinnyace wrote:
