Petition to make Waifuism in OT! a crime against humanity

OT! State Anti-Waifuism Act 20xx



Preamble
OT has suffered an uprising of a certain type of deity worship countless of times in its many past generations, and by now it is clear they are a point of a recurring contention. When looking at the repertoire which countless waifuism churches (and temples) underwent it is seen that the Heads of Degeneracy tend to have abilities intoxicating the pure minds of OT. The Church of Hoshimachi Suisei, for example, has spread turmoil and chaos upon the inhabitants of OT so much that the denizens begged for it to be locked. To ensure purity of denizens and dwellers alike, to ensure degeneracy does not become an epidemic, to ensure order prevails over chaos, waifuism shall be made a crime.

Definitions
I. Waifu is a term for a human-like fictional character, usually in anime or related media, that someone has great, and sometimes romantic, affection for.
II. An act of worshipping Waifus, whether it be the creation of threads to appreciate the waifus (Appreciation Thread), or a place of worship them (Churches, Temples, etc. Which will be refer to simply as "churches"), shall be refer to as "Waifuism" in this document.
III. "Head of Degeneracy" is a term referring to the leader of the place of waifu worship.

The Regulations
IV. The OT! Government shall establish a task force of anonymous individuals that monitor OT for any and all waifuism crimes and notifies of OT! Government of any potential waifuism crimes.
V. Individuals found to be convicted for crimes of waifuism shall have their rights given to as denizen and dwellers revoked and be exiled on the spot
VI. It is the duty of the OT! Government to eradicate places of waifuism worship and carry out mendated punishment upon the individuals that
- Encourage waifuism
- Practice waifuism
- Think waifuism
VII. It is the duty of the OT! Government to implement services that teach individuals about the dangers of waifuism and to expunge any public information relating to waifuism crimes

While I agree that waifuism is cringe, I am principally against restricting the liberty of those within this subforum.

You say that the church of hoshimachi suisei has "...spread turmoil and chaos upon the inhabitants of OT so much that the denizens begged for it to be locked." however you are conflating certain vehemently anti-waifuism denizens being disconcerted of the presence of a church that does not align with their personal views with the spreading of 'turmoil' and 'chaos'. You also fail to aknowledge the benefit that those who engage in waifuism experience; that is, they have created spaces in which they can create and express their religion freely which allows them to not only build a sense of community, but also (whether we agree with them or not) develop their mental and physical selves in a way that is aligned with their religiosity and spirituality. Denying them this is not just cruel, but is outright tyrannical in nature. I cannot imagine what other terrible things the government has the potentiality to do if a bill like this sets a precedent.

Furthermore, the definition of 'worship' is clearly left intentionally ambigious. I refuse to believe this is an oversight. The government will undoubtedly use this ambiguity to prosecute users who even go so far as to mention a slight interest for a human like fictional character (or even just have them as a profile picture!) so they can disenfranchise and exile those individuals they personally dislike, using the excuse of eradicating 'degeneracy'.

ya know what, I change my mind about this petition

Because if we allow the government to ban waifuism, then we allow the government to ban other groups of people with an intrest, and if we allow the government to do that, we then allow the government to ban free speech. And if we continue to keep it up we will eventually recreate the world of 1984 where one's self expression is virtually non-existant. While I am not a weeb myself, I do think you shouldn't really silence people because of their interests as long as they don't encourage or cause any real-world danger or harm.

You know what ? Every people have different taste and interest. Its like a foods, example you dont like rendang, but your friend is like it, you cant just say bad things to your friend JUST BECAUSE he likes rendang.

This reads like a serious post to my post that I did literally to just goof off a bit.

I'm going to be honest, I honestly believe that both sides play into their role too much and I don't want either to win. The weebs should stop being so freaking aggressive, the non-weebs should stop considering posting a picture of an anime girl here "a crime against humanity". I have a feeling that this being OT, people just play it up and troll the other side, meanwhile I'm left to see a bunch of people effectively roleplaying as a Twitter discussion. Y'all have fun, I don't really have much to comment, nor do I think I've any right to.

People will have their fixations and people will enjoy what they want to enjoy. If at any point these typeys of posts are affecting you and you seem to get a little heated, i think it is time to take a step back and breathe.


To answer the bill in a serious note: as long as it is not hurting anyone and is it not breaking the rules then I fail to see what the point is. We know Marco is going to post Miku stuff, if you dont like that then dont click on their OP. If you dont want to see trains then dont click on train mans posts. The internet is full of shit and the best thing you can do is simply not engage with the things you dont want to see.
