read my previous post, it's linked on this thread. This is not supposed to reflect impact, this is just an objective messurement of who was active at which time, nothing more, nothing else, also the osu!chronicles is really akward to use for this same reasons.Endaris wrote:
I dislike this in the sense that postcount doesn't reflect impact.
There have been some individuals that were memorable if only for the fact that their ratio of quality posts was wildly exceeding that of other denizens while still showing a modicum of activity to be considered part of the landscape.
As an example of that I would like to call out schism.
Although few in posts and partially lost to the currents of time as their expressive image usage can no longer be witnessed due to dead links, he's one of the posters of my "era" I will never forget.
Every single time I saw a new thread by them I was immediately excited because there was no doubt it was going to be good before even clicking on it. In that sense, schism is much more memorable to me than many shitposters from "my time" and due to their strong and consistent roleplaying my impression of them is much more clear than that of some other posters of my time.
While I won't bother to argue against acceptance through quantity to cater to those uninspired and lacking in creativity, this should never lead to quality posters not being recognized.
None should ever feel forced to vomit a load of garbage into this subforum to gain some accolade of questionable value and be accepted by those rolling around in the mud and racking up their postcount with head-keyboard-smashes. Get good.
Ultimately, just be aware that that denizen list never followed any criteria but was basically just a subjective "people that were memorable part of the landscape" impression by abraker. None cared at the time and it was just a funny thing in hindsight. faiswusuf didn't have nearly enough posts to qualify according to your new criteria originally but they became a central part of subforum culture in a flash, overshadowing poor plotter.
Also due to the changes to the denizen system over the years, it's really nto even useful to see impact either, the only way ot really have a pure impact of influence would be to remake it again with that intention all over again
