Hi! From my forum NM/M4M taiko queue.
d = don
k = katsu
D = big don
K = big katsu
[General]
Map plays pretty damn well, but I do feel that some patterns are a bit chaotic at times, especially in the first kiai. In general, I like all the slow parts, but the dense parts in particular doesn't mix well with my own style of mapping. The song has minimal drum patterns, so I can understand you taking artistic license on some of the plets here and I appreciate the tons of variation in the 3 kiais though.
There's also strangely a lack of D or K at the time of writing.
Great song with great vocals. Standard map is fantastic <3

MOST OF THESE ARE SUGGESTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS ONLY!
00:01:015 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - I don't see why these 8 notes are necessary -.-
00:31:330 - personally I would do the four 2-bar phrases like this:
34 can be k as well. I just don't like the d on every beat, seems a bit monotonous to me.
00:54:067 to 01:14:278 - personally I don't like the d for every beat. k for every time there's a ride cymbal would match it better (like on 00:56:593), although I do understand your choice of consistent d's.
01:16:172 (189) - delete to break up the long plet
01:17:751 - I would do it like this:
01:25:646 (248) - move to 01:25:804 to match vocals
01:27:857 (257) - move to 01:28:330 for same reason
01:30:699 (270) - same as 01:25:646 (248)
01:40:172 (321,322,323,324,325) - kkd k would match vocals and snare better
01:54:699 (393) - no D?
01:59:120 (431) - change to k would match vocals; alternatively change 01:59:278 (433) to k would match the pulse at 01:56:751 (411)
02:11:672 (534) - change to k and move to 02:11:830 to match what you did to the vocals at 02:11:041
02:16:409 (566) - kkk sounds weird to me, maybe change to d?
02:19:172 (589,590,591,592,593,594,595) - change to kkddddk, last k would match snares, k on beat 3 also sounded weird
02:22:015 (614) - change to k, denser k would match higher vocals, 02:21:857 (612,613,614) would mirror 02:22:330 (616,617,618)
02:29:751 (676) - change to k to match snares, maybe change 02:29:909 (677) to d as well to prevent k spam
02:35:120 (715) - no D?
02:36:383 (716) - delete would make progression onto 02:40:172 more obvious
02:42:067 (729) - delete to match strings, also 02:40:172 to 02:50:278 is literally the same thing repeated 4 times
02:44:593 (741) - ^
03:13:962 - same as 01:17:751
03:19:962 - pretty sure the drum pattern here is 2/3, not 3/4
03:35:751 (939) - no D?
03:38:909 (965) - ddk would match vocals more than ddd
03:50:909 (1015) - no D?
03:55:488 (1055) - change to k to match pulse at 03:52:962
04:04:015 - this gap here sounds a bit strange
04:12:620 (1188) - same as 02:16:409 (566), change to d
04:15:383 (1211,1212,1213,1214,1215,1216,1217) - same as 02:19:172 (589,590,591,592,593,594,595)
04:18:225 (1236) - I would personally shift this 1/4 to the right, syncopated rhythm here would match what you did with the same part in the last phrase (04:13:330)
04:31:330 (1337) - no D?
04:45:857 - add a slider here?
05:05:436 - add d to break up some of those long pauses
05:18:067 (62,63,64,65,66,67) - I would map this part like this:
I feel that the bass drum is more prominent than the hi-hat here and 05:18:857 (67,68) being d k has better flow
05:26:751 (136,137,138) - change to kdk would match high vocals better, although if you like to keep 05:26:909 (138) as d then no change
05:29:278 (157) - change to k for better emphasis on 05:29:436 (158) onbeat
05:32:436 and 05:33:383 - pauses are weird here
05:34:015 (196,197,198) - change to ddk, k would match snares and vocals
05:49:093 and 05:49:409 - maybe add d in these two places? Five 1/2 k's in a row seems off to me.
05:57:699 (406) - change to k to match synth
06:05:909 - I really dislike these 1/1 pauses starting from this point onwards; the emptiness is striking and a bit off-putting.
06:08:120 (487,488) - change to dd to break up the kkkkk and match synth pitch change
06:10:488 (503,504,505) - change to ddd to make onbeat d
06:19:646 (584,585) - change to K K for final emphasis
