[resolved] Bancho connectivity help & troubleshooting

Hello.
I can't connect to bancho, I already disabled my antivirus and firewalls, already opened TCP ports 13381 and 13382 and already tried to reinstall it, but I still can't connect to bancho, It say that I am logged in when I am actually not, any help, please?

Ive been having this problem where whenever i try to log in onto my account, it says connection failed, retrying in 30 seconds, anyone help me? :c

getting the connection failed message. Started after today's update. Anyone else with this problem? I haven't had an issue like this since I started playing a little over a week ago.

I cant log on at all. just a Connection failed. idk... I quit and uninstalled osu because I was sick of no one actually helping. nothing works at all for me.

I have the exact same problem, James.
But oddly, I was able to connect last night and play multiplayer with a friend.
And now its back to the same thing.

Well fix my problem by myself.
I just install a new firewall and it all fix the problem. :)

I keep getting the 'Connection failed. Hit Shift F-1 for status' (which I'm unable to hit) and 'Connection failed. Retrying in 30s...' I've opened the ports in firewall and ran it as an administrator and tried running in compatibility mode, but it still won't connect. I'm able to connect to the internet perfectly fine so I don't believe it's exactly my internet connection.

My OS is Windows 7

Try to install a new firewall program, that is also my problem before. I install a new firewall program and it all fix my problem. :)
Try it, it might work on your problem too. :D

I'm not sure how to install a new firewall program. Do you think you can explain it to me? I'm not very tech savvy.

Try to install AShampoo Free firewall, (http://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pin/0050 ... eWall-FREE).
This is the firewall program that I'm using right now. :D
Just install and register for free, then run the program.
After that, when you run osu!, something will pop-up on the corner of your screen, just check "Apply to all ports for ths application" and "Create rule/ Don't ask again" then click allow.
After allowing osu!, try to log-in on the game. If you successfully log-in, the Hooorayy! :D :)

i can play osu! for a week without any problem. but from yesterday, i cant login in game, but i can on the website...it shows "connection failed, retrying in 30s".
i tried to logout and login again, tried the firewall stuffs, change my password and tried to login again on website and game and the same problem occurs again.

are you sure the ashampoo firewall can be installed in Windows 7 ? i cant install it = =

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with connectivity, or if it is just a bug, but whenever I'm in multiplayer, all of the names listed in the match are all displayed as "Loading..." so naturally you'd think the names would show up after awhile-- but it just stays as "Loading..." for the whole time i'm playing for everyone in the match (for the displayed names before and during the match) except for myself, and sometimes a few other random people. Although their names do show up in the chat when people talk.

Not sure if this is even a relevant problem but it kinda bugs me, so if anyone has advice that would be awesome

I tried Comodo FireWall and allow osu! but still the same problem : Connection failed...Retrying in 30s.
Seems like many players have this problem and most of them(including me) cannot fix it with the methods provided by you guyz.Sigh...what happened to osu!!?

Ohhh, sorry to hear that your problem are cannot be solved by my suggestions. :(
This is all I can suggest you because after I install a new firewall program, it all fix my problem.
But I'll try to ask other players for suggestions about your problem.
I'll just message you if I found one.

I've had connectivity problems non-stop on this computer for the past two weeks. I've tried everything from the OP, and none of it worked. I've tried running osu in administrator mode, windows XP compatibility mode, uninstalling and reinstalling, and even turning off my firewall while osu was running. None of it worked, as I still get the "Connection failed. Retrying in 30 seconds..." message. Any help would be appreciated.

It would help by posting your router model.... and which firewalls you use.

Also are you using irc at the same time?

My router is a Netgear gs108, and I just use the standard Windows firewall (I did add exceptions for TCP 13381 and 13382).

I don't have an IRC client on my computer, so I'm pretty sure I wasn't using IRC.

I'm not sure what it could be. I'm not an expert at networking. Your best bet is to ignore this thread, and post in a separate thread. The announcement threads tend to get ignored.

However try this though. If you still can't connect after disabling all your anti viruses and firewalls, and peer blocking programs, then it's most likely a setting with your router that is not allowing the connection or its a problem with your ISP.

Since last night I'm having problems while connecting to the Test Build. However, I can connect to the Public Build without any problem. No idea why... I've tried to restart my PC and the router without any positive result.

I'm able to receive the last updates of the Test Build though, but it's quite annoying because I was (and still am) making several tests with the new HDash system.

So uh.. a few days ago Osu had an update. It didn't do anything but just got stuck so I thought It was my PC.
Anyhow after a few retries it never made an update.

Yada yada.. then..

I decided to copy osu from my netbook and it did update. I then copied it to this computer.
A pop out came asking if I allowed something to access something.
I used tune up on my computer and afterwards It didn't show up. Well yeah uh..

Anyway I tried to connect to bancho and once again, It didn't connect I need help.

Basically my osu version is fresh again. :/

If it is the datacentre, I don't think there's much anyone can do. If it's not, then peppy seems to be asleep and can't fix it at the moment. Either way, it looks like osu! will be down for a while...

If you really can't stay away completely, test server Bancho is up, so supporters can still chat with a much smaller audience (7 people at the time of this post, including those who are AFK)

I still can't connect to Osu. It's still stuck on Connecting. I opened 13381 and 13382 TCP ports in Windows Firewall, and nothing happens. I also disabled my antivirus.

EDIT: If it helps, I can't access stat.ppy.sh. It just returns a 502 Bad Web Gateway. I can also log in to my web account(obviously). I also forwarded 13381 and 13382 in my router. It's the same as before though, still stuck at connecting at the log in page.

I also reinstalled Osu!.

Please look into this. It's been months since I reported it. I get the feeling of being ignored...

I think we are being ignored. xD

Additional info on my end: Sometimes my pc lags and when that happens, OSU connects to the interwebz. and when I finish a song, it doesn't send the score!
I've done a lot. Did what this thread says too. Firewall, moved osu to various places, still not working. >.<

Does the 502 error only happen to osu related sites? Have you tried clearing browser cache and cookies then restart the browser?

I don't know how much this is going to help but it's worth a try anyway...

Hello!

I'm having trouble wih Bancho today. I get disconnected every 20 seconds or so. It manages to connect but just cannot stay connected. It was working very well with the exact same config yesterday (same laptop/internet). I don't think it's an issue caused by my internet connexion, because everything else ir running smoothly.

Any idea on how to fix?

I don't know how much this is going to help but it's worth a try anyway...
Did that. Worked like a charm. I can connect to stat.ppy.sh again.
Problem is, that darn Connecting phase of the Log-in.
Can't anybody help? I tried everything but slamming my laptop on the floor.

I am also having problems connecting. I'm using a mobile connection, because i move alot, but it has worked before too, so why not now? This has been happening for like a week or two. Tried opening ports.

Your client is probably way out of date. Run osume.exe and it should update you to the latest version.

Can you log-in on the game before this problem happen?
If not, try to allow osu! in your firewall settings.

I can't connect and I can't even make an account.

I tried everything portfoward, check if the ip is blacklisted,

I receive a "Bancho Authentication failed." While trying to log into Osu! I'm not sure why it even logged me out and I used to be able to play online with no problems. My firewall and router settings have not been changed. I'm not sure what the problem is at all :S

Edit:Seemed to fix the problem. When logging into the website my password has a capital while on the client it doesn't. Peculiar.

Receiving data... only happens on my mobile connection so i think it has something to do with open ports (mobile has all closed vs. this one is partially open).

I had a pretty big problem with Osu!, and I've just solved it, so I think imma post my solution right here :)
It's really a wonderful game and I can soooo understand people who are missing it : o

Thing is, Osu! has trouble connecting because of Speedbit Video Accelerator, that I had to uninstall to make it work. Be careful though, you must do a "custom" uninstallation, and not an "automatic" one. Then on each dialog that appears, you have to click "Select all" and then go to the next step with "Next".

I have a problem - it seems that my osu can't connect other than in a time window of few hours in the morning every day (or sometimes just randomly but very rarely). It doesn't work on both of my computers who are connected to the internet but my internet works completely fine and I have absolutely no clue what's wrong. Anyone has an idea how to solve it? thanks <3

help, when i start osu, it doesn't automatically log in. when i tried to click my username in the upper left corner, a notification pops up and say "an error has occured somewhere in osu! and has been reported. osu! will attempt to keep running". i tried to reinstall osu but the problem's still there

Maybe that's because you're running the game in full screen? Untick "Fullscreen mode" under the Graphics tab and see it is any better.

I want to play with my friends, i can log in, start a lobby, but after a short while i disconnect. First i get removed from the game lobby, (if I was in one) NOTE: my friends can't see me in lobby, but i can still see the lobby. Then I get sent back to the main menu. I've enabled Osu! in my firewall, and made a rule for the ports. I'm not loosing my internet, as i am still skyping with my friends when i drop.

Hello people,

I hope anyone here is able to help me.

27-04-1013 i had to run an osu update, which installed fine (as far as i could see)
When i started playing, i notices a split second freeze every 2 seconds. A friend of mine suggested repairing osu via the original installer.
I did repair osu, and after re-initialising every song the freeze was gone; however, i wasn't able to connect to bancho ever since. Does anyone know any reason as to why that is? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Specifics:
i'm running a viao laptop with windows 7 SP 1.
Processor: Intil Core i3-2310M with 2.10Ghz
4,00 Gb RAM
640bit operating system
AMD Radeon HA 6470M video card (?)

My knowledge on these kind of subjects is minimal, so it could be something very simple.
I have tried restarting osu, restarting my laptop and anything suggested above.

Edit: Nevermind, somehow things worked out after reinstalling osu 4 times.

My game disconnects from bancho only when I push F8/F9(to see friends),which is weird. It then reconnects after 5 secs, which is a bugger when trying to play online and getting kicked out.
I've tried about all the solutions listed and nothing seemed to work for my disconnection problems.I asked a friend to come test his game on my line and he received the same problems.
Thus I conclude it to be my internet connection - though I have NO problems at with any of my other online games. Perhaps the port is being shaped? Though it should be unshaped for games...Any help?

My scores don't seem to be submitting. After finishing a song, the screen is stuck on "Receiving online scores...".
My firewall allows osu!, ports 13381 and 13382 are open. I can log in, play multiplayer etc.

hmm I can totally say click local score then go back to global ranking then press f5 works well for me though

Hi ... I've got a problem with connectivity. After this last patch i cant get online. Everytime i see only Reconecting and thats all.
pls help.

They put up a notice that they're currently running off a backup bancho server so perhaps just give it some time till they can sort it out and it should return to normal. You can check https://twitter.com/osustatus for future updates.

I'm still having this problem, even though it has already been fixed, i've even re-installed osu and updated it multiple times but it doesn't fix the problem...

I had to wait about 2 minutes to connect the first time after the backup bancho server was removed. Try waiting at the main menu for a while.

I have one friend who is also experiencing the same type of problem as Kalle has. She cannot connect to bancho to get online, though from time to time whenever she has a connection and starts to play and finishes a song, none of the scores she does gets uploaded. It just shows that's attempting to upload the score but nothing happens. She cannot connect to the website either.

I can submit scores perfectly fine, its just that i can't play multi, use chat or see highscores other than local, also my supporter privileges like osu!direct or fun spoilers without clearing aren't working.
