This is my mini "#announce" & "#userlog" kind to speak wwww
** [2015-09-19] ** Moved a few of you from my osu friend list to my IRC client, haven't done this thoroughly for a long time orz
I'm trying to keep in-game friend list for those who enjoys playing multiplayer together, while having my IRC friend list handling the chat aspect of things. I'm glad that my friend list is growing beyond current design capacity but until the upper limit is raised in game, please bear with me ;w;
[2015-07-26] Resigned from my hybrid role of Support Team + Chatmod. Been finding it hard to focus lately (with limited time) so I've decided to pass on the bat, sit back and enjoy osu as a game whenever I got time on hand. It's been a pleasure working with everyone on the Team, you guys are awesome <3
And no I'm not going afk. I'll still be playing (mostly weekends) but not reading stuff on regular basis.
[2015-07-05] Was getting frustrated with restricted movements after putting on gloves, then comes the eureka moment - it makes no difference if I play a mode which I don't normally play! Mania is a god-send to gloved hands, been having fun with it lately
[2015-06-05] It's been really cold these past few days and I have starting playing osu while wearing gloves (since 3 days ago). The added thickness to each keystroke, plus restrictive finger movements, totally ruins my aim and tapping wwww Still, I find it lot more comfortable playing with gloves vs cold fingers (and possible injuries), so I'm taking my time re-learning osu!
[2015-05-23] Pulled out the nib from my osu!tablet pen as it no longer detects anything (and "bugs" the movement detection sometimes). Learning full hovering now
[2015-05-19]Started playing CtB since a few days ago, guess I caught the CWC fever!
It wasn't easy to pick up when I played on keyboard. My right hand control is clumsy and my eyes hurt like hell! Then a eureka moment - plugged in my old TopWay joypad for Touhou and all of a sudden I can play CtB
One drawback though... I sometimes instinctively press the button to SLOW (Touhou fans will know what I'm talking about) but my character flies away instead orz....
** [2015-03-20] ** I had to move a few of you from my osu friend list to my IRC client, because I've been out of room for a long time! ;w; It may not say "Mutual" on the website anymore but I still have you all on my IRC client! Please don't be sad...
[2015-03-12]My hand is officially useless xD
[2014-08-09] 賀 99.00% Overall Accuracy ゲット だぜ! I remember someone once said that "if your overall acc is over 99% you should consider quitting" (because it means that the maps are too easy). And I agree with him. But don't worry, I'm not going anywhere... I'll keep playing for fun as usual
[2014-06-29] Promoted to help as part of the Support Team. Minna yoroshiku ne~
[2014-May-13] 賀 99.50% Accuracy ゲット だぜ! As 99.50% is my minimum "Pass Percentage" I think my acc will move very slowly beyond this point. But who cares! It doesn't stop me from having fun wwww
[2014-04-10] 賀 2100x SS ゲット だぜ!
[2014-03-18] 賀 2000x SS ゲット だぜ!
[2014-Mar-12] Back to 99.31% Accuracy... and hopefully keeping it this time
[2014-Mar-10] 15000+ views and 85+ Flags Collected. Thank you for visiting my user page! ありがとうございました!
[2014-Mar-05] The celebration was short lived... map diff calculation must've changed today, went down to 99.28% Accuracy =.=
[2014-Mar-04] Added o-ring dampeners to my CM Quickfire TK Pro (Brown).
[2014-Mar-01] Back to 99.30% Accuracy!
[2014-Feb-03] Tom! <3 <3 <3 can't kiss you enough! For the first time in a very long time, my rank looks pretty close to what I think my skills sit (#7485). It's still a bit higher than expected, but I've been given a chance to have my skills catch up to the rank. My acc went down from 99.42% to 99.17%, but I'm sure that I can get it back over time. Thanks Tom!
[2014-Jan-30] Got my osu Tablet today! Good thing that the active area of this tablet is very similar to the projection I have on the borrowed tablet
[2014-Jan-20] Yet another undeserved promotion with the release of ppv2 (Rank#1227).
[2014-Jan-04] Changed from Index-Middle to Index-Ring finger combo.
[2013-Dec-14] Reached 5000 pp today. It's a nice round number... (I managed to "freeze" my pp growth by ranking only 99.5%+ acc play since September and it seems to be working; it took nearly 3 months to go from 49xx to 5000. Would've worked better if pp does down like before...)
[2013-Nov-28] 賀 2000 Combo Achievement ゲット だぜ! (Funny that I tried really hard to get it on Touhou Medley but was never able to; then getting it "accidentally" on another Touhou map as a result of F2)
[2013-Sep-26] Personal Record SS > S as of today. Not necessarily a sign of improvement, but I like collecting SS lol
[2013-Jul-29] 賀 99.00% Accuracy ゲット だぜ!
[2013-Jul-29] 賀 1000x SS ゲット だぜ!
[2013-Apr-23] A friend lent me a spare CTE-650 Tablet! Time to turn to the Dark Side kekeke...
[2013-Apr] Switched to mechanical keyboard: CoolerMaster Quickfire TK Pro (Brown switch with white LED)
Inari Ookami (稲荷大神?, also Oinari) is the Japanese kami of foxes, of fertility, rice, tea and Sake. Inari's foxes (kitsune) are pure whilte and act as his/her messengers. "稲荷" literally means "carrying rice" and is a symbol of prosperity.
While the term "kitsune" (fox) is more familiar to foreign people, it is often associated with negative meanings such as sly and deceiving. When Japanese people want to address a fox deity with respect, they use the honorary term "Oinari-sama" (お稲荷様). While the term shouldn't really be shortened, it is better to use either "Inari" (稲荷) or "Oinari" (お稲荷) rather than "Oin" (which carrys no meaning).
There are many anime and manga based on japanese magical foxes. Wagaya no Oinari-sama (我が家のお稲荷さま) for example, a light novel by Jin Shibamura later adapted into manga and anime work by popular demand. Who can resist those furry ears ^^;
...and Fox statues like this shown in Ranma 1/2 are also called "Oinari-sama" wwww
My #Spectator is turned off. PM if you want to talk to me in game.
Thanks for spectating me!
I am a non-competitive player and I play for the music, not for Ranks/pp/winning-mp-matches. The stuff I play are normally quite "boring" in people's standard (too easy or too old) so you're better off watching someone else if you're expecting something "pro". I just played what I liked - TOUHOU maps!
Apart from TOUHOU I also play some anime and jazz maps nowadays. You'll probably notice me failing most maps and it has something to do with an old habit of mine: setting a target for "personal PASS" (SS or at least 99.5% acc). I think the main reason of my high accuracy stats is contributed by this habit. While most of my high acc records come from easier maps, I do play harder maps that I have a hard time just surviving; I just don't rank the play that's all.
A lot of people ask me "how to get SS" and often I can only provide common-sense answers, eg "listening to the music and hitsound carefully" or "relax and don't think about the SS." The players need to learn those skills themselves and it comes naturally as he/she plays more.
But there's a tip that everyone can try though! I find it very hard to focus once I retry a few times in a row, so I use Collections to manage the situation. Once I feel there's no point to retry anymore (that day) I'll add it to Collections and just forget about it. When I feel like improving some scores I'll simply open up that Collection and F2! It's a lot more efficient and less stressful this way
I play for fun most of the time, though occasionally I do get caught in a frenzy retrying the same map trying to SS it. If you see me retry a map more than 5 times then it's a sign that you should probably come back later sorry
Why not invite me to your Touhou lobby next time ^^

*2015-May-23* The pen lasted lot longer than I thought lol, but luck has come to an end. Pulled the tablet nib out of osu pen and voila - it works just fine except that now I cannot play poking/dragging style anymore. Learning full hovering now.
*2014-Sep-15* I must've overworked my osu!tablet pen... it's been semi-broken for a few weeks now, only detectable less than 1mm from the tablet surface. I have to drag on the tablet instead of my usual "poking" style T.T Oh well, let's try dragging for a change anyway and see if I can like it or not =.= I've started learning Mania cause one day I just really didn't feel like playing osu standard orz
*2014-Jan-30* Got my osu Tablet today! Good thing that the active area of this tablet is very similar to the projection I have on the borrowed tablet
*2013-Apr-23* A friend (Maniya-chan) lent me a spare CTE-650 Tablet!
Don't be confused by my Rank when you see me in multiplayer games. I didn't play Insane until Dec 2012 and I can't play very hard maps. I join multiplayer to have fun. Why did I start osu and how did I end up in this situation? Well, it's a long story.
One day in 2010* a friend came visit me. He was so excited to show me this new rhythm game he found on the internet so he made me copy all the files from his USB drive onto my PC. I was surprised that it just ran without installation on my XP machine.
I was a hardcore fan of DDR prior to that. At first try of OSU I thought "what the hell is this noisy game with whistles and what not," plus the songs are not that exciting compared to DDR (later I found out that this is due to my friend's bad taste of songs). I quickly browsed through the 40+ songs he brought, getting more and more dissapointed until I come across a TOUHOU song - that got me hooked. If it wasn't for that TOUHOU song I probably wouldn't be playing osu today. Wanna guess which song is it? IOSYS - Cirno's Perfect Math Class
However, the fun didn't last long. I soon hit a road block and was stuck at playing 3 stars max. I was using a 10 year old 1st generation infrared wireless mouse and that lagged like hell with no precision what so ever, but back then I thought it was my skill that's keeping me back. After many retries and frustrations I finally put osu aside and forgotten about it.
I didn't touch osu for a year, until another friend of mine asked to recommend a rhythm game to him. I recalled osu from a year ago so I did a quick google search and, to my surprise, it didn't disappear into the darkness of the internet. So I started playing a bit with this friend of mine. I was using a 200 dpi no brand wireless mouse by then. It was better than the 1st gen infra red mouse, but still nowhere close to what I needed. This friend of mine only played for half a year and when he stopped, so did I.
It wasn't until mid 2012, at the time one of my obsessed SC2 mod got butchered beyond recognition so I suddenly got a lot of free time to play something else, that I started playing osu again. Since I got nothing better to play, I was obsessed with playing all the TOUHOU songs I know ("I know" is the keyword here, later my head exploded when I found out about the beatmap packs and torrents) and I managed to kill 5 wireless mice in just 4 months. I was frustrated at my pc's performance, since every map I play the mouse cursor lagged like hell and it's holding me back. The hardest difficulty I can play was only 4.5 Stars at this time.
In Nov 2012 my 6th wireless mouse died. A friend of mine heard my complain and suggested me one of those expensive razor gaming mouse. I didn't wanna spend so much money so I did a bit of reading into how gaming mouse works. I was shocked that I've been looking at the wrong specs (or rather, I've been ignoring specs totally). For rhythm games like osu, the Frame Rate is more important than the DPI (and not to mention that wired devices has much lower lag than wireless). So I went and got a cheap AUD$12 Gigabyte wired mouse and - totally shocked - I was able to play with "god like precision" on 4.5 Star maps (it was "god like" in the eye of a 1000pp noob). I was SO GLAD that I bought that new mouse. Exactly what have I been wasting my time on before =.=
From there I never looked back. A new door has opened before me and my skill level doubles every month. I went from a 1000pp noob to a not-so-noob 4kpp in just 8 weeks and I'm still feeling that there's plenty of room for improvements. Let's see how long I can keep up this time.
*Actually this "date" could be wrong. I didn't know that you can download more maps (thought song are packaged with game like DDR/Stepmania) till 2010 (that's when I finally registered). And peppy's retro 2007-09 osu looks VERY familiar *gasps*
[2014-01-04] Currently experimenting different fingers for streaming. For those that have been watching me play, you would've noticed that I'm REALLY bad at streaming, 3x, 5x etc. What you may or may not know is that I have sustained a lot of injuries on my left hand over the years and my middle finger is not in its best form.
I can single tap 210-230 bpm with my index finger, but only 170 with my middle. During stream this limits my top speed to about 160bpm only.
I've been watching other people play more often during this holiday season and I really felt that stream is one thing which I cannot avoid if I want to develop my skills further. Instead of putting more pressure on my wrecked middle finger, I've decided to try using a different finger combination and completely retrain my keyboard skills. This change will set my skills back a lot, but I think the potential it brings is worth the effort. Please bear with my performance hit
And don't worry, I'm still having fun as usual and not caring much about pp/rankings (unless I get trolled by another undeserved promotion). Lets see what I can do with this new Index-Ring finger combo
[2014-Feb-02] ppv2 Update: Tom! <3 <3 <3 can't kiss you enough! For the first time in a very long time, my rank looks pretty close to where I think my skills sit. It's still a bit higher than expected, but I've been given a chance to have my skills catch up to the rank. Thanks Tom!
I'm often asked by people to recommend Touhou maps. The trouble is that my list is so HUGE and it's hard to pick "the best" on the spot. So I thought why not just upload my Touhou Collections and people can browse them at their leisure.
These are the maps I normally pick in multiplayer games, either they're good or I just like the music wwww
Sakuya displayed her "devil" side throughout Touhou 7 Perfect Cherry Blossom, like this conversation between her and Chen:
Later during the Extra Stage of Touhou 7, Sakuya ran into Yakumo Ran, who's been looking for Chen all day long, and had another round of funny conversation (except this time Ran had a nice comeback ): Chen is Ran's shikigami, so this is sweet revenge for Chen in a sense. Never mess with a kitsune!
The Flag Counter has stopped working since June 2014, but I can still feel the love from all of you ありがとうございました!
