I think it's not working for me.

It just gets stuck at the loading screen while the word connecting is there.

and it's not changing for the last 15 minutes...

Did that. Didn't also work.

Update:

Cancelled the login and found that I had logged in somehow.

Though it is still stuck on loading stats, and if I go on Multiplayer, it just says You must log in to Bancho.

got the exact same problem here.. it says "connection failed. retrying in 30s" again and again then "hit Shift+F1 for status"

did the server go down again??

The server is fine, but you will need to make sure you are running b20120827 (check top-right corner of options).

yes yes, i just updated and it actually made the problem started... before update it was fine, by the way i am from indonesia will my positioning affect the server's connection?

My Osu says : Bancho connection failed: Your copy of osu! is too old needs to be updated before online play is possible.

I have made the update and yet it makes me this, why?

as a few people have mentioned in another thread I'm getting this issue.

After the update today, my osu successfully logs in for ~1 sec before it disconnects and reconnects.
connection times out over, over and over.

it must be a problem with patch because my few friends have the same issue after last patch. I checked all security on my computer so it's not a problem from my side. Fix this :)

It should be resolved now. Bancho was a bit sick for a moment there.

yes i'm having the same problem and i'm from Trinidad and Tobago which is located in the Caribbean i'm not sure if the time zone has anything to do but it has been so for the last 4 days happened when i updated Osu!. I have never had to open ports for my Osu before an i don't have a blacklist as well as use Vista and i normally run Osu! in administrator. so the main reason has to be the patch that was recently out me an my friends who play osu in Trinidad have the same problem i hope you can resolve to problem asap. One other thing the score is sumbitted but my overall rank doesnt decrease or increase but everything does, my PP is unaffected by this

EDIT: sorryyyy looks like it was maint...? It's all fine now (i did restart my PC so maybe that also helped)

im really depressed i cant logged in to osu, Connection Failed, retrying in 30s, Connection failed, Hit Shift+F1 for status ... :(
it's been like a week... i wanna play with my friends badly..
idk why but i've read this thread from page 1-20 and followed all the suggestions but still no solution... what's wrong with my osu...? :(

yeaa, exactly the same here, i think we're having slow internet connection which is not fast enough for the interval of osu's automatic bancho conector or what ever phepy calls it, please how to broaden the maximum time needed to connect to bancho?

I know now How we get the Bancho gone. We must first Delete Osu all of your Computer, And then Try dowload Osu again and you got it. you can playing again. :) Goodluck

you can ping/find its IP using the hostname cho.ppy.sh. Please let me know what you find.

Hello everyone.

Now, before the public release of osu!mania, everything went fine. But now, I keep timing out. I am sure that it is not my connection since I can connect to everything just fine. I can talk to everybody via IRC but not via osu! ingame, since I keep timing out. :(

I had the login problem two months back when osu! was getting constant updates, one day my account just went disconnected, and when i tried to login, "Connection Failed, retrying in 30 seconds" I get that every time.
Note:
-I was able to update

I did the following before,
-Run as Administrator
-Logout and Login again
-Uninstall and reinstall latest ver.

I used to play osu! daily because i love it so much since i started playing last year, but I thought the server was under constant maintenance that i put off osu! for like months now, i'd really like to be back on track.

Hello to all :) Then. I can't play to osu! Since a time already. When I am connected, my id and my cdm are good and ca told me "Bancho authentication failed. Please check your username/password by clicking the user pane on the main menu." I don't know if it comes from you or me but I already uninstall/reinstall the game and nothing. Thank you in advance.

its been several months now dat im having trouble connecting to bancho...

it does connect in d morning...
but wen it get late...
its harder...

at times it is able 2 go multi during d afternoon-evening but disconnects after a while... D:

^me as well but i havent been able to connect at anything at all it hasnt let me login sense almost a mouth or two ago and it worked before

For a month I can no longer connect to Osu. When I try to log in, a message appears: "Connection Failed, ..."
I tried all the solutions found in other topics but nothing works ...
Even more strange, when I play solo in 'Guest' above the score there is always the name of my account ...

(I then completely reinstall Osu! and my songs have become pink. How do they revert normals?)

Can someone help me, please ? T_T

. I open those ports and do all those they recommend but nothing happens.

Since last update, connecting to osu! seems ridiculous. It randomly logs me out and says "Connection failed, press Shift+F1 for status" while it's okay for everyone else. My connection is fine and this has never happened since last update.

I don't think I've been able to connect for about a week. I've recently installed ZoneAlarm and figured it was that and would fix it later. Don't think it's at fault, everything is fully allowed and I'm pretty sure I've connected to Bancho briefly.

On Vista+, try turning down UAC to a lower setting, running in XP SP2 compatability mode, or allowing osu! to run as administrator.

My scores are apparently submitting (immediately after song it looks like it is, haven't compared on here) but I still can't connect with Bancho. No chat and no direct :(

I already restart my PC run the updater many times but nothing happen.
I record my score and game stats days ago but now, I can't even log in again on osu.
I don't know why but I already open the ports, ping osu.ppy.sh and cho.ppy.sh but nothing happen. :( :cry: :cry:

Please help me! I need to record my game stats!
.. and also can I use a VPN for osu!?? If I can, can you suggest a VPN software?

Well,still can't connect to Bancho...

I was able to login and upload scores.However,i can't connect to bancho and play multiplayer mode :(
But I still can chat with irc (i don't want just chatting...)

It seems that it was able to connect to bancho server and got response data,
but osu! didn't recongize the data(maybe it didn't response correct data?).

Hello, I've tried everything that was recommended on the first post but it is still not working. It keeps saying that I am using an old version of Osu! and I need to update, but I've already updated. I even reset my computer to see if that was the problem, it didn't work.

In some chinese universities it's impossible for us to visit foreign websites unless we use proxy or ipv6 connection.

but osu doesn't support either of them.

can you try to implement these features?

Hello.
I can't connect to bancho, I already disabled my antivirus and firewalls, already opened TCP ports 13381 and 13382 and already tried to reinstall it, but I still can't connect to bancho, It say that I am logged in when I am actually not, any help, please?

getting the connection failed message. Started after today's update. Anyone else with this problem? I haven't had an issue like this since I started playing a little over a week ago.

I cant log on at all. just a Connection failed. idk... I quit and uninstalled osu because I was sick of no one actually helping. nothing works at all for me.

But oddly, I was able to connect last night and play multiplayer with a friend.
And now its back to the same thing.

I'm not sure how to install a new firewall program. Do you think you can explain it to me? I'm not very tech savvy.

Try to install AShampoo Free firewall, (http://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pin/0050 ... eWall-FREE).
This is the firewall program that I'm using right now. :D
Just install and register for free, then run the program.
After that, when you run osu!, something will pop-up on the corner of your screen, just check "Apply to all ports for ths application" and "Create rule/ Don't ask again" then click allow.
After allowing osu!, try to log-in on the game. If you successfully log-in, the Hooorayy! :D :)

i can play osu! for a week without any problem. but from yesterday, i cant login in game, but i can on the website...it shows "connection failed, retrying in 30s".
i tried to logout and login again, tried the firewall stuffs, change my password and tried to login again on website and game and the same problem occurs again.

are you sure the ashampoo firewall can be installed in Windows 7 ? i cant install it = =

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with connectivity, or if it is just a bug, but whenever I'm in multiplayer, all of the names listed in the match are all displayed as "Loading..." so naturally you'd think the names would show up after awhile-- but it just stays as "Loading..." for the whole time i'm playing for everyone in the match (for the displayed names before and during the match) except for myself, and sometimes a few other random people. Although their names do show up in the chat when people talk.

Not sure if this is even a relevant problem but it kinda bugs me, so if anyone has advice that would be awesome

I tried Comodo FireWall and allow osu! but still the same problem : Connection failed...Retrying in 30s.
Seems like many players have this problem and most of them(including me) cannot fix it with the methods provided by you guyz.Sigh...what happened to osu!!?

Ohhh, sorry to hear that your problem are cannot be solved by my suggestions. :(
This is all I can suggest you because after I install a new firewall program, it all fix my problem.
But I'll try to ask other players for suggestions about your problem.
I'll just message you if I found one.

I've had connectivity problems non-stop on this computer for the past two weeks. I've tried everything from the OP, and none of it worked. I've tried running osu in administrator mode, windows XP compatibility mode, uninstalling and reinstalling, and even turning off my firewall while osu was running. None of it worked, as I still get the "Connection failed. Retrying in 30 seconds..." message. Any help would be appreciated.

It would help by posting your router model.... and which firewalls you use.

Also are you using irc at the same time?

My router is a Netgear gs108, and I just use the standard Windows firewall (I did add exceptions for TCP 13381 and 13382).

I don't have an IRC client on my computer, so I'm pretty sure I wasn't using IRC.

I'm not sure what it could be. I'm not an expert at networking. Your best bet is to ignore this thread, and post in a separate thread. The announcement threads tend to get ignored.

However try this though. If you still can't connect after disabling all your anti viruses and firewalls, and peer blocking programs, then it's most likely a setting with your router that is not allowing the connection or its a problem with your ISP.

Since last night I'm having problems while connecting to the Test Build. However, I can connect to the Public Build without any problem. No idea why... I've tried to restart my PC and the router without any positive result.

I'm able to receive the last updates of the Test Build though, but it's quite annoying because I was (and still am) making several tests with the new HDash system.

So uh.. a few days ago Osu had an update. It didn't do anything but just got stuck so I thought It was my PC.
Anyhow after a few retries it never made an update.

Yada yada.. then..

I decided to copy osu from my netbook and it did update. I then copied it to this computer.
A pop out came asking if I allowed something to access something.
I used tune up on my computer and afterwards It didn't show up. Well yeah uh..

Anyway I tried to connect to bancho and once again, It didn't connect I need help.

Basically my osu version is fresh again. :/

Windows 7.

If it is the datacentre, I don't think there's much anyone can do. If it's not, then peppy seems to be asleep and can't fix it at the moment. Either way, it looks like osu! will be down for a while...

If you really can't stay away completely, test server Bancho is up, so supporters can still chat with a much smaller audience (7 people at the time of this post, including those who are AFK)

I use the mac beta version, if i can call it that xD, but my bancho is still offline... :/

I still can't connect to Osu. It's still stuck on Connecting. I opened 13381 and 13382 TCP ports in Windows Firewall, and nothing happens. I also disabled my antivirus.

EDIT: If it helps, I can't access stat.ppy.sh. It just returns a 502 Bad Web Gateway. I can also log in to my web account(obviously). I also forwarded 13381 and 13382 in my router. It's the same as before though, still stuck at connecting at the log in page.

I also reinstalled Osu!.

Please look into this. It's been months since I reported it. I get the feeling of being ignored...

I think we are being ignored. xD

Additional info on my end: Sometimes my pc lags and when that happens, OSU connects to the interwebz. and when I finish a song, it doesn't send the score!
I've done a lot. Did what this thread says too. Firewall, moved osu to various places, still not working. >.<

Does the 502 error only happen to osu related sites? Have you tried clearing browser cache and cookies then restart the browser?

I don't know how much this is going to help but it's worth a try anyway...

Hello!

I'm having trouble wih Bancho today. I get disconnected every 20 seconds or so. It manages to connect but just cannot stay connected. It was working very well with the exact same config yesterday (same laptop/internet). I don't think it's an issue caused by my internet connexion, because everything else ir running smoothly.

Any idea on how to fix?

As you can see here today there were problems with servers.
