Didn't mean for this to drop into the Graveyard, I've been busy with other projects and have been obsessed with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Hahaha!

I will be approaching some MATs soon and renaming Insane to Hard if Mashley decides he doesn't want to do the difficulty.

I'm not renaming either of them. Insane is about as hard as it can get while still following the song without creating any sort of fake difficulty. It wouldn't be fun if it were any harder.

I want to create a mapset of 4 difficulties with a fair difficulty curve, so neither of them are going to be renamed.

I will try to work with Hard to see if I can make it any harder. EDIT: And after reviewing them both, Hard is quite obviously more difficult than Normal, and Insane is also more difficult than Hard. There's a definite difference in difficulty standards here.

so the storyboard commands MX and MY are buggy but perfect for this map. Since they are buggy however, we won't use them, and instead just fix your storyboard and all the work you put into it (far too much).

Open the .osb file and change the skyline.png files to all have the same Y value. 188 and 145 for the jump looks good.

whenever you see something like that in the storyboard, change the ~191 number to exactly 188, and the ~150 number to exactly 145. If you really want to be precise, change the X values too.

00:26:269 - johnny's "j" has the top cut off because it's black on black. Move both down a little bit.

01:49:113 - make sure this is perfectly centered or scale it up 1.1x. The bottom right corner isn't being covered properly.

In the future, remember that loops are very easy to use and very quick to make:

Those are BPM resets. It sounds perfect to me, if you listen to it at 25%, it lines up with the drums perfectly. After the third section, there are no more resets, so it's quite clear that it's perfect throughout the rest of the song. kari_kyon already fixed the timing:

I'll try and map it without the spinner.

  1. 00:19:304 (x)-Might if I suggest adding a note here? in my opinion, this follows the vocals pretty well. Test it out. See and hear for yourself. Done. Sounds pretty good. Plays pretty fine, too.

  1. 01:23:399 (3)-The way the previous notes overlapping the slider track of slider 3 doesn't look good really. Consider flipping this slider vertically. I was going to do that way earlier but my inner stupidity cried out "but the previous slider was flipped verticallyyyyyy." But it actually makes it looks worse situated the way I had it, so it looks fine when flipped vertically. So yeah, done.

the map is okay, not a masterpiece like the storyboard but surely fine, it's oldstyle and I love old-school beatmaps so I can't really say much besides I like it. so yeah

Just my opinions:

1. The style is quite old.
2. You insist on symmetry too much, sometimes you ignore the spacing, and for about all of the time, the flow is really... meh.
3. Some sliders are not good, i'm not sure it's because of ability... or you don't put enough effort.

More or less the reason I went through hell and back with modding.

I wanted a curved difficulty mapset with a clear definition of E M H I, similar to the older standards of difficulty mapsets. Insane is surely nowhere near the Insane difficulties of today, mostly because I took an absence between 2010 all the way through 2011, so I was not even remotely aware of the change in standards.

The storyboard probably is fantastic, but it has horrible coding. I was not aware of scripting at the time when I could have just used loops and easing for the hearse. I created the storyboard before the timing change, and because it has such bad coding, it was more or less impossible to move the hearse without having it bug out.

In my opinion, I quite like my Insane diff, but I think the Normal and Hard could have been better. In general, I should have asked for a guest difficulty for Hard. Mashley was going to do so, but it fell through.

In general I believe my Easy and Insane are the strongest while Normal and Hard are the weakest.

So, yeah. I believe my newer maps are stronger, and follow the modern standards of difficulties, so we'll see where I can go from.

EDIT: In general, this has taught me a ton about mapping.
