just a quick mod for the highest diffs, i know the mapset is not completed yet but just wanna give my two cents since i love this song :)

  1. 00:19:449 (1,2,1) - really don't think you should use 1/12 snapping, but since you did it for the insane diff too guess it's intentional? it's kinda unexpected as the player will just be recovering from a break and a relatively calm intro. i guess it emphasizes the hike in intensity? not sure about it though
  2. 00:22:512 (5) - nc here and take away nc from 00:23:262 (1) - ?
  3. 00:27:762 (1) - remove nc? u did this here 00:24:762 (3) -
  4. 00:29:262 (1) - ^

*why does Normal not have those sweet sb-elements while clicking circles at the beginning?
* Im unsure about the sv-changes in Normal, Normals normally dont have those, i suggest to use just one all the way through because it may be unrankable (sv-change = different spacing thus unrankable in Normal)
* 00:24:762 (4) - This one is touching the hp-bar, which is unrankable
* 00:26:637 (2) - I would move this one up (just a bit) because it can be uncomfortable while playing to go all the way down imo
* 00:57:012 (5,6,1) - I think it would be better to add a nc at (5) and remove the nc of (1) for consistency reasons (it also kinda fits)
* 01:12:012 (1,2,1) - stuff like this is unrankable. distance between (1,2) is 1,2 and the between (2,1) its 0,7. Normals are supposed to have the same distance throughout the whole diff. You may check this diff for more like that.
* 01:39:012 (3) - a nc here would fit pretty good imo
* 02:15:762 (8,1) - I rly dislike the sv-changes in Normal because the srsly dont belong in a Normal

Overall it a cool diff, you just need to fix some distance thingys and ask someone if those sv-changes are okay

* 00:01:512 (1,2) - I see people triggered because of multiple repeat sliders (i experienced it a lot already), you can change it, but i think its cool
* 00:29:262 (4) - Why dont you split this one into two repeat sliders? Let the other one start here 00:29:637 - and its better tbh
* 00:49:137 (3,4) - Pls move (4) too 180/113 so it wont overlap in such an ugly way with (3)

Insane

* 00:23:168 (7,1) - I wouldve placed those at 270/173 because it goes well with the direction the slider is showing to

  1. Please don't use volumes below 20% because those volumes doesn't make a lot of feedback to players.
  2. Why there are 0.00x green lines? It doesn't really manipulate anything and Idk if it's unrankable but seems unnecessary for the gameplay.
  3. Your yellow combo color is too bright for players who plays with BG.
  4. Why BoatKrab's Insane uses lower OD and HP than Light Insane and Insane?

  1. 00:05:637 (2) - Put at 186|287? just a personal preference
  2. 00:48:012 (1,2) - What's with the 1.80x DS?
  3. 00:58:512 (1) - Remove NC? for consistency
  4. Flow and aesthetics is nice but the density of this diff is like an advance diff so let me evaluate the points why I said that so. First of all, the SV changes. Yes it's allowed on normals but it's been abused on the part of 02:16:512 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3) - it's doesn't really make sense if you consider the skill level of the newcomers who will play this diff. Second is your DS is not consistent, some varies from 1.20x then becames 1.80x (00:48:012 (1,2) - ) on the other parts and note that some sliders are fast on that pace that somehows makes the newbies stressed on playing the notes. The kiai's density is somehow feels like a diff spike, 01:34:512 (3,4,5,6) - these trains are too hard for beginners considering these as your lower diff and 01:22:137 (2,3) - beginners might be stressed on this note placement as they mostly play a 1/2 slider connections before this object. I think you need to buff the things down as for this is your lowest diff, you don't need to be in detail to emphasize the song wholely because these are meant to be played by the new players smoothly.

Hard
  1. 00:07:887 - I prrefer this to be a circle to take the initiative to emphasize the violin sounds
  2. 00:35:824 (1) - Wavy sliders fits here as for the emphasis of vibration of the violin sounds
  3. 00:58:512 (1,1) - 02:03:012 (1,1) - This just looks so weird
  4. 01:14:824 (5,1) - Lmao that jump is pretty shocking and too sudden because you just finished from clicking slow sliders

Lost's Light Insane

Not gonna lie, this is a great mapset and tbh I can't find much to work with as there's like 30secs of it being intensive with the rest being really straightforward and like 2* in difficulty lol, just a few overlaps that bothered me for the most part. So all of these are just suggestions as I haven't found anything 'wrong' with any of the difficulties really...
So if you feel I'm nitpicking, that's because the map is just this good.

Liberation:

01:24:574 (5) - could move this somewhere else, feels too close to the triple
01:40:887 (3) - either stack it with reverse slider or move 01:40:887 (3) - a bit to the left so the overlaps are the same
01:53:637 (3,4) and 02:11:262 (3,5) - I don't think these overlaps are necessary.

So I was casually browsing through the modding queues when I found this. Storyboard seems really nice, mapped cleanly too. Did you make the storyboard?

  1. Might want to silence the soft-sliderslide, kind of disrupts the calm in some parts of the song, for example 00:13:512 - . Here, take this 44 byte blank wav.
  2. Might want to raise the HP of boatkrab's insane to fit the settings of adjacent difficulties.
  3. The snapping of 00:16:012 - is 1/12 in some diffs and 1/16 in others, try keeping these the same. Personally I think 1/16 sounds more accurate, but better to check with others as well.

  4. 00:45:012 (3) - Try moving the red anchor to the slidertick to reflect the sound at 00:45:387 - , like 00:39:012 (3) - does.
  5. 00:59:262 - This SV change doesn't do anything atm, but I'm pretty sure newer modders may catch on to it and think it's a problem, so consider removing it.
  6. 01:53:449 - This density is a bit high for being such a calm section. Especially in comparison to the others. Try replacing that rhythm with a circle instead, to lower the density. Take a look at 01:59:637 - , for example.
  7. 02:02:262 (2) - 00:47:262 (5) - If possible I would've liked for distinct sounds like these to stand out by having both impacts be circles, rather than being a slider like the rest. Although, it might be beyond the scope of rhythmical density intended for the difficulty. Even so, there is headroom available in terms of SR.
  8. 02:19:512 (1,2,3,1) - Instead of continuing this slider train, I would have notably reduced SV here, along with density. Could try something like this for rhythm.

  9. 00:01:512 - Some conflicting custom sample settings here, unify them to avoid technical issues in the map.
  10. 00:03:574 - This rhythm feels a bit too dense for being the intro, and this is actually more intense than how the Hard is mapped here. The constant use of circles in between sliders becomes slightly repetitive, especially when used consecutively like this. The contrast between 00:10:512 - and 00:13:512 - is kind of lacking, as well. Because of the repeating pattern of 1/1s and circles, two 1/2s like 00:15:012 (5,6) - also becomes a bit unexpected. This is a lot of things for one section, so would suggest you rework this. Try lowering the overall density a bit to bring more contrast between this part and 00:19:512 - .
  11. 00:21:949 (2) - This impact happens at 00:22:043 - , and not the red tick. Would start a slider from 00:21:762 - , where a prominent snare exists and a click would be more predictable instead. Additionally, would turn 00:22:137 - into a 1/2 slider or circle with 1/1 gap, as 00:22:324 - isn't very strong.
  12. 00:22:512 - is also pretty much the same as 00:21:762 - 00:28:512 - etc, but with a different pitch, so would make if rhythm was somewhat similar.
  13. 00:25:324 - Preferably the circles right before prominent sounds should be placed differently than others, for the sake of making it stand out properly. In this case 00:26:074 (2,3) - is pretty much arranged in the same way 00:25:324 (3,1) - is. Could otherwise stack 00:25:324 (3) - on 00:25:512 (1) - . There's another case at 01:05:824 (6) - , where things are both stacked and unstacked at times, so would change the rhythm, sort of like 01:11:262 (3,4) - 01:08:262 (3,4) - were done.
  14. 00:28:512 (1,2) - For sliders, there's usually a general rule of thumb that white ticks take priority over red ticks, and red over blue, etc, unless the song suggests otherwise. So swapping these rhythmically would make it seem more natural to play, especially since 00:28:512 - is stronger in this case, and 00:28:699 - weaker than 00:28:887 - .
  15. 00:33:012 - This is where density should decrease, but it seems to continue like it did before, which kind of fails to express what the song is doing here. I realize 00:33:762 - is a rhythm technique to switch instrumental layer, but it's usually discouraged in calmer sections, as it requires the player to focus more, which again, goes against how the song sounds here. Could instead try something like this.
  16. 00:44:074 (2) - Here, 00:44:074 - is weaker than 00:44:262 - . I realize you're following the flute, but the flute is no longer heard at 00:44:262 - , where another instrument starts. This leads to players expecting it to be clickable, hence why it feels awkward in gameplay. Would try this instead, where vocals are also prioritized.
  17. 00:57:762 - Two distinct impacts, so would try two circles, where the second could be stacked over 00:58:512 (1) - , to emphasize the transition. Applies to 02:02:262 (3) - as well.
  18. 01:35:262 (4,5) - Could swap these rhythmically to emphasize 01:35:637 - 01:35:824 - , as the current is the same way 01:33:762 (3,4,1,2) - are done, for instance, which wouldn't be good contrast.
  19. 01:41:637 - It's important that rhythm density correlates to the intensity of the song. Having things like 01:42:199 (2,3,4,5,1) - , may fit the individual sounds, but it doesn't fit the song at the time when comparing this section to others. Could try making use of some SV changes as well to make lower density sections feel slower.
  20. 01:43:512 - This part is a break in all other difficulties. Are you sure you don't want any breaks in the map? It is still around 2:30 in length.
  21. 01:58:512 (1) - Refrain from cramping sliders this much, this looks really bad lol
  22. 02:16:512 - This starts off well, but the density quickly starts spiraling into 02:18:012 (1,2,3,4) - and some really dense stuff like 02:20:262 (3,4,5,6) - . Would highly suggest you reconsider parts like these.

    Calm parts may need some work, some sliders start on weaker sounds than they end or roll over etc. There's some things to look into here, although it is relatively new so I suppose it's to be expected.

  24. 00:21:762 (7,8) - 00:22:512 (1,2) - Having two different ways to indicate 1/4 may get slightly confusing. These are also the same sounds so having both the same would make sense. Same would apply to 00:28:512 (1,2) - , depending on what you do.
  25. 00:35:262 (5,6) - This would work better if they were rhythmically swapped. Generally priority will go white > red > blue etc, unless the song suggests otherwise, meaning 00:35:262 - would be the start of the slider, and 00:35:637 - would be the circle. This way you'll also rhythmically emphasize 00:35:824 - through contrast.
  26. 00:44:449 - These sliderends felt kind of awkward after previously clicking on the same sound, 00:38:449 - , additionally, 00:44:262 - might want to be covered. In it's current state, this will probably cause players to lift too early. Slider is just a bit too long, and you'd expect to click on the beginning of a new stanza.
  27. 00:47:262 (6) - Could replace this with two circles instead to give contrast from 00:46:512 (5) - , in order to reflect the more prominent sounds here, similarly to what was suggested in Normal. Would also apply to 02:02:262 (2) - .
  28. 01:20:262 (7) - 1/2 stacking should preferably not be done in conjunction with 1/4, 01:20:918 (9) - . Could otherwise just unstack the first stack like this. Break in flow will work as emphasis for the sound.
  29. 01:26:449 - Could end the slider here instead, to cover both that impact as well as 01:26:543 - .
  30. 01:27:199 (2,3,4,5,6) - 5-note streams might be a bit over the top for a Hard. It's sort of edge-case so would recommend you try something else if possible.
  31. 01:53:449 (2,3) - In this case the white > red priority for sliders applies, so basically swap them rhythmically.

  35. 00:24:012 (1,2,3) - Seems like a lot of notes are sort of cramped together, which sort of damages the visual appeal. Try spreading them out, in this case moving 00:24:012 (1) - downwards or whatnot.
  36. 00:57:762 (1,1,1,1,1) - This is a lot of NCing, try removing the new combo on 00:58:137 (1) - .
  37. 01:04:512 (4,5) - Not going to stack the tail and head like 01:03:012 (1,2) - 01:08:262 (7,1) - 01:11:262 (7,1) - were done?
  38. 02:07:512 (1,2) - 02:09:012 (4,5) - Similarly to how many of the other tails and heads are stacked, could stack these too for visual consistency.
@BoatKrab, you've got conflicting custom sampleset settings on 00:01:512 - .

I can check back in two or three weeks to see how things are going, along with modding the rest, if you'd like.
