Thank you very much, maybe someday you can have the time, it is so interesting to learn a new language by oneself, not imposed by school lol

ohh, 0 to n5 in 6month is impressive. Staying consistent is what worked well it seems. How many hours a day did you studied japanese?

I studied at least 1 hour per day (weekdays), and there was like 2 months that I reduced the pace because of work to 30 mins, and for weekends I did 2 hours, but recently it was augmented to 3 hours on weekends

That clears things up, thank you. I will try to replicate it.

Btw, since you said you sit in a vc with native speakers. How good is your listening ability? What I am particularly interested in is how good of a listening can one develop at N5 level

Mhhmm... nice question, I do not know, but I think it has to be with my native language, Spanish, and the way it is easier to hear Japanese and to pronounce it. So I think for native Spanish speakers is easier to hear and speak Japanese, also Japanese people can learn to speak Spanish more faster than English for example.

But in conclusion, yeah It was easy to me to hear the words even if I did not know what they meant, but that helped me to understand how to pronounce them and to get acustommed to hearing everyday real Japanese. Ah also I learned Aizuchi, a very important feature to make a native speaker feel comfortable while in a conversation.

I meant, how much can you understand? Like actually being able to understand what they are saying.

N5 is entry level (well you know this part already) and the reading comprehension is like: (translate word by word)

My eyes are bad. So, I wear glasses all the time. In the classroom, I always sit in the most front row. I don't hate wearing glasses. But, because of now my glasses are old, I want new glasses.

surely this level could be reached in 6mos.

I never knew what aizuchi was until I checked just now and I'm N1 cleared
Manishh
I have heard its possible to be fluent at N5 level. I guess by refining the already acquired skill

learn Miku language, very wise yes

just a bit more context about how exactly is it easy for chinese language natives to learn japanese

the majority of our courses were designed to be introducing kana, basic grammar, basic vocabulary, then jump to N4

then we go very quickly from N4 to N2, most courses are designed to be N2 ready at year 1.5, and it's completely doable to start from 0 knowledge to N2 in 1 year

and because N2 is quite enough for everything except for academic requirements, 80% to 90% of learners would stop here, and those who wish to go further would spend roughly 1 year to get well prepared for N1

so yeah, 3 to 3.5 years to N1 if you procrastinate, and 2 years if you're among those diligent ones

I'm saying this because I really didn't take any JLPT test prior to my N1 attempt, which took me twice to clear. so I really don't know much about more entry level of JLPT

... and it took me 8 years from day 1

so yeah I procrastinate quite dramatically

Ohh, a little, like the most common words like, KoNBaNHa, some type-i adjective, like omoshiroi. Sometimes whole phrases. But to be honest I felt lost at the beginning, now I can follow conversations for longer periods of time.. but yeah given the repetition of words I knew I was able to understand to a certain point...

That sounds kind of unnatural, illogical, How can someone be fluent but also being entry level? 🤔

Miku speaks all languages, but I think her native one is Japanese, isn't it?
