Ask me anything ^^

which different musicians do you generally reference for decisions in [melodicity, harmony, structure, texture, tone, rhythm, emotion]? is there anything you've learned from your experiences in producing that you believe was interesting to you?

Good question. I pretty much take inspiration on the sound design by many artists: sewerslvt, Aphex Twin and especially Boards Of Canada and Casino vs Japan. (I cannot determine which type of effect that i can say from the artists as i am trying to understand the concept of it) The songs from Kendrick Lamar have also inspired me to break some limits from music productions. I also joined discord servers about music making and also started to make friends. Especially with someone that gave me a lot of advices that i can learn with it. With these experiences i made was kinda stressful but fun to work with. Music making is hard but as long you have fun with it, it’s worth the effort!!!

+ why do you want people to listen to your music, and what do you look for from their feedback?

+ how do you perceive comments that critique the presentation or content of your work, and what do you think these features mean to the people who make these comments? why do you think people say what they say about you, and do you think you accurately understand their reasoning?

+ what comments make you happy? what do you think about your own wants, and why do you think you want them? do you understand the sources/incentives of what you feel, as a result of both the comments that confuse you and the comments that please you?

+ can you imagine why people might appear dismissive toward you when you hype up your music? does it seem possible that they could have responded differently? do you have a hypothesis for what factors could produce different outcomes? what do you understand about your own feelings toward people's responses to you on the forum?

I want to show on how im capable on music making. at first i wasnt reallly taking it seriously but iirc poly or tad convinced me to release my songs on the internet. other than that, i want to seek improvements on what i should add or what genres i should branch out instead of doing breakcore / dnb tracks all the time. now because i bought a midi keyboard i want to learn how to play them and do music easier and productive as possible.

well upon release, pata's comment was very harsh depicting that i'm just some ordinary artist who makes music which is sadly true from the music's spectrum and the amount of artists in the world. anyhow, other comments about their ratings have made good points on how i could improve and i could eventually use that feedback for future projects. (maybe give myself some more time n such). even though i have to learn a lot, those comments are just a part of my music producing journey. maybe ill end up succesful who knows.

well obviously compliments make me happy but i dont feel like this is going to improve my music skills that much. if i would understand critisism more, i could eventually improve and make better tunes.

well at first it was kind of a joke to hype up my EP. i was very unprepared and was too eager to show the album cover and make it mysterious as possible. so i would understand on why some people would be so upset or confused why i made these kinds of posts. if i just were a patient enough and took my time to work on the EP first (or eventually do anm ARG), the outcome wouldve been much different. but no, the idiot me which barely has any recognition was too eager to show them and make it mysterious lmaooo

1. i have a lot but im gonna list a few which are Boards of Canada, Casino versus Japan, goreshit, Hikaru Utada and Jamiroquai.

2. Well it’s mainly because of the Drums and the aesthetic that makes me wanna make Breakcore/ Dnb tracks. And it’s also quite easy. But as i mentioned before, i want to branch out and not being referred as a breakcore artist all the time lol.

3. FL Studio. The main reason is because how good the DAW is. Even though it’s expensive, it’s very recommended if you want to make electronic tunes. And as a bonus, it has Lifetime updates. That means u dont have to buy every new version of Fl lol.

4.A very cool artist. His songs remind me of tributes or fan videos for some reason lmaooo

what do you think about the geneva suggestion
Patatitta
when you say "upcoming" is it just a dream or do you have an actual realistic path planned out to become a professional?
reffty_gag
ok here's the hard question,

what is EXACTLY a "breakcore", ppl sometimes misundertand between breakcore as jungle, or jungle as breakcore

Great question, well i planned the music making thing as a part time thing while im doing other stuff. And i want to learn producing in general, wanting to know the basics and pretty much occupy on some genres. But as you said im just some ordinary composer who probably has no possibility to get that kind of success.

Yes I’ve heard a lot of people being upset about the genre breakcore being misinterpreted with jungle or dnb all the time. In my opinion, breakcore is a mix between dnb, jungle and experimental with melancholic vibes etc. jungle is just dnb but less sad and vibey and chill lol. (I will prolly get a lot of hate for this idk)
