My office situation is kinda crazy and I wanted to share it, it's funny if you're not the one in the middle of it.
So I work in an office building that's separated into several areas.
The area where my office is located is shared between multiple companies.
To get to my office I need to go through 2 doors, one on the outside to get in the building and one on the inside to get in the area.
Unfortunately I don't have the keys to these doors because a former intern at my company forgot to return them and there's no spare set so I need to ring or wait for someone to let me in.
Unfortunately (2) the company that answers the doorbell isn't the one I work for, usually there's a receptionist but she's not always there.
Unfortunately (3) some guy in that company categorically refuses to open the door for me and keeps coming back to me to complain about me ringing, as if it was my fault.
It's not about security concerns or anything by the way, he recognises me, knows I work there and knows everyone else opens the door when I arrive, he just thinks he's too good for that.
During his diatribes he said "I'm not your secretary" multiple times, interpret that as you will.
It's particularly funny when you consider that he spent way more time bitching than it would have taken him to just open the door a few times.
Fortunately said company can provide keys!
Unfortunately (4) it's taking a hell of a long time, no one keeps me informed about any of it and I've heard I would only get one of the two keys I need, which wouldn't solve the problem.
In the meantime I either have to go there and hope someone lets me in or work from home even though that's not what was planned.
On the bright side most people there are human beings so they let me in if they see me but having to wait for someone to pass by isn't exactly an optimal way to spend my time.
We'll see how this joke ends, hopefully soon and with 2 keys in my pocket.
Crazy shit right here
