<< | >>

hello dear citizens, We are back again with another weekly scuffed news episode which is not weekly. Since I had exam, I could not post the daily weekly News. So, this episode will cover all the major news for the past month. Another thing which has been changed is the use of image, I will be not using them since i dont have a good and trusted place to upload images. I was using discord for a long time but it has started working badly. Enjoy

The government organized a public vote to address the controversy surrounding Blushing's denizenship status. Citizens were given the opportunity to vote on whether Blushing should retain their denizenship or have it revoked. The outcome of the vote was closely contested, with the revoke option winning by just one vote.

News - 3

The government has announced a freeze on the denizen system while it undergoes a rework or potential discontinuation. During this period, no new denizens will be added or removed, no generations will be added or removed, and no edits can be made to the existing system.

The 'OT World Cup' is a thread created by Sametdze. It's a tournament where citizens can submit countries to compete against each other. It operates as a 1v1 tournament, where citizens vote for the country they want to win each match. The country with the highest number of votes emerges victorious. Currently, six matches have been conducted.

The 'Weekly English Word Spelling Challenge', created by YyottaCat, is back! In this thread, participants are tasked with guessing the correct spelling of a word, which will be pronounced aloud. Additionally, there's a leaderboard to track who has guessed the most words correctly.

News - 6

The government has announced the first set of changes to OT! Chainposting is now officially prohibited, and citizens found engaging in such behavior will face punishment, typically in the form of a mute. It's advised to refrain from such actions, as they are not only against the rules but also lack humor or value.

News - 7

The government has established a dedicated thread for citizens to voice their complaints or concerns regarding GMT or government affairs. This can be done either by posting directly in the thread or anonymously submitting a report form. This initiative marks a positive step towards transparency and accountability within the government.

News - 8

The Art of OT: An Ancient Guide and The Royal OT Directory have been replaced by the newly created The OT Encyclopedia. While not everyone is thrilled about this change, it's still in its early stages. We anticipate the government will consider input from citizens and make further adjustments to ensure satisfaction among the community.

News - 9

The 'OT Government Logs,' created by Lord Kobold84, is a thread aimed at enhancing transparency between the government and citizens. This document serves to archive government legislations, as well as internal arguments and discussions, fostering a better understanding of decision-making processes within the government.

These changes are un-necessary and quite useless
Also discontinuation of Denizenship (if you do it) is just laziness. The whole reason we stole the parliament for 5 months was because the previous government neglected it. This government is just discussing doing the exact same thing that the sleepy government did. Really backwards.

What else has the government done so far, let's see.
"OT! Chainposting is now officially prohibited", complete non-post considering it was reportable for a while under the basis of spamming. Aside from just discouraging it, there was zero real action from the Parliament in that regard, it's just an announcement stating the obvious.
The OT Encyclopedia was just copy and pasting a useless thread and useful thread, minus some detail.

The only semi-decent idea I can praise at the moment is the GMT Report form, but even that isn't really needed since Discord DMs exist.

I mean if you literally missunderstand and missrepresent what we have done, yeah, we look bad

denizenship has not been discontinued, it's paused, why?, because we're working on making a rework, and it would send mixed signals to both try to change the system and also maintain it the way it has always been so far

was chainposting always spam? yeah, has anyone in the last 2 years actually been muted because of chainpsoting?, no, what the rule means is that it will start be enforced as spam, the edict even got edited to show this

Encyclopedia just makes those two threads easier shorter and easier to understand for newer users (who had always been the target of those threads!) + updated the directory to show which threads are active and which not + a description of the actual threads, so you don't need to just try to figure out what they are before clicking on it. Again, better for new users, we could have edited the OP but we decided to make a new thread to preserve those threads since it would be a pretty radical change

Maybe you should put your monkey on a leash so he doesn't spout nonsense about a "potential discontinuation" again.

Your chainposting announcement is delayed not by 2 years, but by 2 months. The community already clarified that chainposting is a big nono, and GMTs even encouraged reporting such behaviour. The parliament had absolutely nothing to do with it. If you lot edited the edict just recently, then I'll commend you for that, but the whole post about chainposting didn't come off as implementing anything new.

The likelihood that new users read the Encyclopedia is also very slim, and this goes for the Art of OT too. There are already a heap of threads pinned to begin with, and the names of both don't seem like a new-users guide at first. Removing the Art of OT would have been a good idea, removing the directory was a pointless move.

The Directory should have stayed, with dead threads removed. The Directory doesn't need to be geared towards new users, I'd say through personal experience that I didnt use the directory as much in the beggining as I do now. Another thing to note is that, we shouldnt have to change everything to accomodate for new users, new users should accomodate to us.

My main gripe with the Encyclopedia is the fact that it's just a lesser Directory with fancy formatting.
I possess the stance that historically useful threads shouldn't be completely unpinned and replaced by each presidents colourful knockoffs, and should instead be given slight adjustments. Because really, all the government has done so far is reskinning pre-existing threads.

Speaking of radical, I think throwing a significant thread in with the others for it to die is more radical than adjusting it a little bit.
