It's quite challenging to learn, it will take you a few years and dozens of falls to get the hang of it, but the result is definitely worth it

I literally had the opportunity to try skiing as the school went on a trip to ski but couldn’t end up going because of my knee injury few months ago 😭😭

Oh no, you really have bad luck. Was your knee not too serious ?

I have a vague memory of tobogganing when I was like 3 or 4, does that count

Hmm, it's a snow sport, so I suppose so

It luckily didn’t go to the other direction lel. I can now walk normally but have to do MTT now to strengthen my weak knee

would have to travel way too far to get to any skiable slopes, so no - cant really afford it
sametdze
snowboarded on artificial snow once

dunno if that counts tho

Patatitta

Nanofranne
If you can import snow, perhaps I'll be curious to learn.

Began at last winter. At the second day I went to the "red" and "blue" tracks (color determines difficulty: "green"<"blue"<"red"<"black") and i prayed for being alive. Fell about 10 times. This sport is much more extreme than it seems.
Evangelion_guy
never went but could be fun

Indeed, but venturing onto red slopes on the second day is borderline suicidal! XD

As a Canadian, I am disappointed to say no.

Would like to try it at some point though
Corne2Plum3
Yeah, fallen 30 times on my first day

No, but, the closest thing to skiing here in this the desert (where i live), as you may have an idea by now, is sand skiing.... i think haha.

Oh wait. I got skiing and snowboarding mixed up holy shit

Yes, I have gone skiing before lmao. I think I only did it once when I was on a trip. Wouldn't mind doing it again

Went to Park City with a few osu friends last Dec, that was pretty fun

WOW! I have been doing some research and here in Mexico there's a place to do ski and snowboarding [1] (with snow) aparently on a volcano, and it is considered an elite sport. Interesting 🧐.

In reality, I think it's worth trying. It's not an elite sport, but it's just complex to learn. To have fun (to ski without falling too much), it'll take you 2 or 3 years, and I'm not even talking about slaloms or the freestyle clips you can see
[-Omni-]
nope.. im texan :(
Nikolai
skiing is so easy but its fun
stevennnn
being from Michigan, I should have given it a try by now but I'm kinda terrified of it :sob:

As a Canadian, I'm an level 2 ski instructor in the CSIA (Canadian ski instructor alliance) and suggest people who are new to ski to take an introduction course (5 to 7 courses) before skiing alone. Often in Canada, the mountain won't take any consequences when you get hurt or others hurt you (accident or attempt murder XD JKJK), so better be able to change directions before getting cocky :)
BluePyTheWDeer_
Never because in my country never snows

I totally agree XD, we see a lot of people bombing down the slopes while being inexperienced

I have done some skiing in the past, but because it is so expensive to do some ski trips I think that my skiing skills would all drop to zero, when I'd try to do some skiing again...

The last time I had ever done this was when I was at the sixth/seventh grade... ;_;

And I also could have done a skiing trip in school in advanced high school, but my dear god, over 400€ for just this is like always so ludacrisingly high... ._.

I feel like it's just not worth doing it, unless you reeeally want to do it, in which you'd have to spare lots of money in order to do that... It's not that hard, because it's not like trying to get a car, but you'd still have to spare some good amount, most notably due to long train sessions or something...

It's kind of sad that I have rarely gone on the mountains, covered with white snow that can blow out your eye balls, if the sun's shining strong.

Though in my home country it is certainly known for having a whole bunch of skiing tours and trips...
