Science is bad as well, but Physics looks interesting. Shame it's heavily maths based, like all things in this world.Manishh wrote:

Like at some point I can get good at math but getting good at 3 things harder than getting good at math
they have a constitution in the Philippines?????!!!!?!?!?Scyla wrote:

I'm in Year 10 right now moving onto Year 11, If I remember correctly you're from Sydney. I believe VCE and HSC are the same in the sense that: English is a compulsory subject, though you get to choose literature or mainstream.yoony1 wrote:
Literature. It was the one subject that I put a good amount of effort trying to improve in during high school, because I sucked hard. I even had good tutors. Somehow still managed to get the equivalent of straight Cs outside of 1 assignment. I still don't know how the subject works. The books and poems were kinda cool though.

How much orientation does your college have for it to be an entire subject wtfScyla wrote:

Don't know where you got Sydney from, I'm from Melbourne as well. Didn't do VCE though, I did IB, which is an alternative curriculum some schools offer. Literature subjects are still compulsory though. I had the choice to pick between "Literature" and "Language and Literature", with the second one being basically the same as the first one but you study less books, and study online news articles and stuff in exchange. I guess you cannot escape literature wherever you go in Victoria or NSW.-Remi wrote:

I chose 1/2 mainstream for Year 11, heard its much more boring than literature and literature is more creative, but the poem shit really throws me off. Hopefully the changed VCE study design replaces APA with Creative Writing in 2024, cause I fucking hate APA.

Huh, for some reason I always thought you were from Sydney. It's fun to know someone on here is from Melbourne as well, if another OT member ever visits Melbourne, we could probably do an OT meetup.yoony1 wrote:

Good luck with year 11 and 12. It's gonna be painful, but less painful than being tortured to death (I think), so it's ok all things considered.
I only hate PE because we had to change before and after class, this would cause me to be a few minutes late for my next class.dPeace wrote:

At least it's better than Australian history, which is the same topic, except its taught from Year 3 to Year 10. The same thing, over and over and over again.WitherMite wrote:

Somehow we spent 3 years of highschool basically just learning the civil war (Hyperbole but not too far from the truth). Which we had already gone over in both elementary and middle school.
Meanwhile world history only got a single semester freshman year.
Got to the point I was sleeping through classes and acing tests without studying, my teacher hated me. I was in the "advanced" class too.

I mean I understand the importance of learning about the genocide of aboriginals, and the movements of convicts, but please teach me something new.

And what exactly are you memorising, do they pop-quiz you on the hymns or something
Or is this just normal and I'm the one going to a weird school?

12th grade math in the USA is the equivalent to 5th grade math in asia and thats a factZelzatter Zero wrote:

Idk why but even the most basic formula in linear algebra just felt like solving a lv10 puzzle. Outside of YT channel like 3b1b I just can't wrap my head how things worked this way.
iirc we were learning the formula for the area of a circle back in fifth grade, and of course i dont remember any of it cuz i dont careMFGSTC wrote:
