Hello, and welcome to the special 2022 edition of OT News!
It’s currently sunny with clouds on the horizon. Are those storm clouds or snow clouds? Hard to say. My weather station is out on vacation.

2022-02-20: OT Denizn ShinRun opens a shop with some curious specialty items. Ranging from the title to OT denizen to a Quality Thread, the OT!Shop has it covered. With high appraisal from customers, it is certainly the number 1 shop on the block.
Despite the critical acclaim, not everything seems to be fine and dandy for the shop. Some items do make you wonder what hoops ShinRun had to go through to get his hands on. For example, it is unclear what OT Law has to say about the “limited OT Denizen title”. Correspondent abraker has attempted to reach OT lawyer Tad Fibnancci on the matter, but received no response on the matter. The “TN winner of the month” item is also not without controversy. If some backroom dealings have been struck between ShinRun and abraker, the long running Thread Necromancy thread may have its integrity withered.
GhoulyMart threatens to sue ShinRuns’s OT!Shop. It is unclear what the basis for the action is, but it does not seem to bode well for OT’s newest shop.
In response to the action, ShinRun had this to say, “We shall be overtaking Ghoulymart in sales within the week”. Denizens are understandably concerned for both shops. OT Denizen z0z, who was in the area, says is unsure whether they will both come back unscathed. OT Denizen Cerno, who seemed to have invested into Ghoulymart, speculates that its stocks might drop.
Despite GhoulyMart threads, ShinRun reaffirms that his shop is decidedly superior.
2022-02-22: GhoulyMart declares war on ShinRun’s OT!Shop! ShinRun’s threats of overtaking GhoulyMart’s sales have caused Ghouly to take preemptive action to eliminate the threat, stating “LEGAL ACTION WILL NOT BE ENOUGH”. ShinRun promptly accepted the declaration stating, “Seems like the market isn't big enough for both of us”. It is unclear ShinRun he intends to defend against Ghoulybit’s advance arsenal.
2022-02-22: Amidst the shop wars a new French shop find an opening to break into the market. OT Denizen Corne2Plum3 opens his French osu! shop. This fancy shop transports denizens to a special shop dimension where denizens can browse all sorts of items. Despite the fanciness, there appeared to be a demand for french cuisine the shop did not anticipate. Baguettes and croissants are among the requested items the shop was lacking. Luckily, the Corne2Plum3 quickly put those items in stock and more.
The shop is now critically acclaimed, even beating out the likes of Dawnsday’s Bar. With huge sales profits, Corne2Plum3 plans to reinvest into more inventory and new products like the strange potion he recently developed.
2022-02-22: A weapons shop opens. Where there is war, there is an opportunity for profit. A-Breaking Laboratory makes no attempt to hide its lack of ethics by taking advantage of the situation and launching its own weapons shop!
Some of these items are dangerous, like REALLY dangerous. The Sun of Gun death ray, for example, has enough destructive power to destroy a small country. Some items like the Cannon in D███, on the other hand, raise even more questions. Despite this, A-Breaking Laboratory continues to operate on a fine line of destruction and experimentation.
Later that day Ghoulybits quickly came by to snatch the Sun of a Gun death ray at a bargain price -- The Royal Scientist’s safety! There seems to be no end to the blackmail in the shady dealings of great leviathans. Shortly after, abraker was found missing from the shop, leaving denizens wandering around. Knowing abraker’s OT!Gov dealings, it makes you wonder if it was merely a diplomatic ploy to strike a deal with Ghoulybits.
2022-02-22: Amidst all the commotion in OT, the OT Presidential Elections are now in high gear! Elections are split in 3 phases: Registration, Debate, and Voting. In this year’s elections we have 4 candidates going head-to-head for presidency: ShinRun, NotRaffi, Ghoulybits, and Asian Warlord. As of writing, we are in Phase II of this election with the chosen candidates already going toe-to-toe for the title.

2022-02-22: Presidential candidate ShinRun suggests reforms to the denizen title criteria. The criteria imposed by current OT President Penguin have been criticized for taking too much time for anyone to become denizen. An idea developed by Ghoulybits, and adopted by ShinRun, proposes a new tier of denizenship of a nominee title.
Despite the noble intentions, the proposal has come with much criticism. One of the main critics, Julian_Kaiser, voices his concerns that this would reduce nominee denizens into “creed matter” by requiring people to be actively posting in OT to which they would lose the title otherwise. This later revealed to be a misunderstanding within the proposal and Julian_Kaiser accepted it.
President Penguin and secretary Tad Fibanacci also voiced their opinions regarding the proposals, both warning against possible consequences for OT this will lead to and claims that it is based on misguided understanding of how OT functions.
2022-02-26: The OT subforum has been entered into the official Wiki records! Our resident scientist has been busy at work immortalizing the subforum into the pages of history the past week. Whilst writing up the entry, he also came across two new discoveries regarding OT’s history. Did you know that [url=]according to abraker's research[/url] the OT subforum used to be called Forum Games/Random? In extensive writeup, abraker also uncovered the origins of the dancing anime girl posting, one OT’s oldest traditions.
After the announcement, denizens took upon themselves to translate the entry into their own language. Corne2Plum3 volunteered to translate to French, and later not knowing Corne2Plum3’s efforts, bambinex stepped up to the task too. Unfortunately for him it was too late.
2022-02-28: Denizen Keremaru, the avid supporter of POG juice, comes out to promote Lean. Keremaru is noted to shift in color tone, from the usual pink to purple. As Scyla put it, “Lean, also known as purple drank, purp, or oil, and several other names, is a recreational drug beverage, prepared by mixing prescription strength cough or cold syrup containing codeine and promethazine with a soft drink.”. Is this a sign of the powerful alien becoming corrupted by a drug beverage, or is this something else?

The first of the two qualifying denizens that have been rushed for denizenship approval due to recent elections. He announced he would be running for OT President as soon as he attained denizenship.

The second the two qualifying denizens. As abraker mentioned in his post, he gained denizenship due to satisfying requirements and nothing more. Perhaps this is what sparked ShinRun’s denizen reform proposal.
