I just want to know if someone has the same problem as me.
I'm extremely scared of darkness, I don't know why but that's just how it is.
Sooo, when I'm playing any osu! map, I just can't play with background being fully black, It genuenly scares me. I always play with 90%-95% background dim because as I said, darkness got me scared even there


Just please say if someone has the same feeling as me

No but play with 80% dim and sb/video enabled like a real og.

unfortunately, that might be quite rare...

...i do remember a time where i was in fact very afraid of the dark (including dark computer screens with only a single red light to show that the computer was off) and my body often told me to run to the lightswitches if i was passing through a dark room, but that was when i was a much younger child. this stopped long before i found this game, so i don't really think i would know how to understand your experience...

because now, like most of the people here, i tend to play with high darkness settings because the backgrounds distract from the hitcircles themselves. i usually prefer to live in dim lighting conditions, so having a dark background to match my surroundings is much cozier for me

I'm scared of darkness, but not to this degree. I don't think it is something to ashamed of, but it is something that you should try to get over it.

I like to play with 95% background dim, mostly because my eyes have a hard time with black backgrounds and colorful things. My eyes get tired more quickly if that's the case.

As a person with pretty notable nyctophobia, max dim does make me a little uneasy, but it's not on the level of unplayable

I do prefer to play with 70-80% dim, it helps make every map feel distinct from one another

Am just interested, is it ok when you close your eyes? Or do you also get scared from that type of darkness too

I don't have that scaryness when I close my eyes, It only happends when something that Im looking at or something that Im surrounded by is dark

"you will be missed" is being said because moderators would presumably silence your account temporarily (so that you cannot make new forum posts or use in-game chatrooms) due to double-posting or triple-posting (the act of making multiple posts in a row to quote and answer other people in the thread), an action which may be interpreted as spam

that rule isn't exactly strictly enforced in this off-topic subforum, so you should actually be okay!! ^^
