New question


What are some of your favorite games from your childhood?


My answer
There were quite a few, actually. The biggest ones were:
  1. Minecraft
  2. Plants Vs. Zombies
  3. Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005 & Underground 2 & Hot Pursuit 2010 (I didn't play HP2010 until much later)
  4. Counter Strike 1.6
  5. All sorts of weird, flash games from Miniclip
  6. Burnout Paradise (I remember my cousin had the game one time and it stuck with me for some time)

Flash games: Fireboy and Watergirl, Papa's Pizzeria n stuff, Flight and many more i cannont rember the name lol

Mobile games: Jetpack Joyride, Temple Run 2, Gangstar Vegas, Subway Surfers, Danger Dash etc...

PC Games: Minecraft and Roblox

GT4 was a banger, my favorite GT. Same with Budokai Tenkaichi, spent countless hours on it.

My childhood was PS1 though:

We have this sort of salad as well. It's called salată de bouef. My family doesn't really make it for Christmas. We do it for Easter more.

Long time no see. I'm not going to stick with the cool formatting I had here because honestly I don't like BBCode formatting anymore. Markdown is so much comfier IMO. Anyway...



This was announced months in advance, but it is still a big moment. TL;DW: He is semi retiring. He will continue to throw stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks, but he will stop doing this weekly and he will spend time with his loved ones.

So, what do you all feel about this?

I feel like it is long overdue and I'm happy for him to finally take a step down. I'm also happy to see him be honest that he would hate the kind of job massive YouTubers end up taking. I like it when YouTubers are more or less homegrown, organic or simply put still just a guy with a camera and something he/she thinks it is interesting.

What are some of your favorite games from your childhood?

i only had a 3ds that i that i shared with my brother. these are the games that i used to play with my own cartridges:

- Cooking Mama 5
- Super Mario 3D Land
- Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters
- Kirby: Triple Deluxe

i also used to play random games on PC like .io or flash, but it's not really important...

I'll miss the weekly Tom Scott upload but the guy needs a break, I don't even know how he managed to do so many things at once.
Also it's reassuring that he plans on still doing stuff in the future aside, we'll see how it goes.

I played mainly the Mario games on the NES and SNES. I really like Yoshi's Island and SMB2 and 3, personally. I really only finished SMB1 and Super Mario World.

so my fam bought a Family computer back in 2013, which looked like this:



we had like 2 cartridges which contained hundreds of old retro games, but the 2 i really liked was Mario and Contra

Mario the furthest i gotten was around world 5, and Contra i nearly beaten half the game...

honestly, fully beating old games back then was really tough, especially if your going blind and have smol child brain like me back then...

Yeah I wanted to say it but even the PS3 is starting to be considered retro now (it's 18 years old), doesn't feel like it though.

For the Tom Scott question, feel good for him that he decided to take a break. I haven't watched all his videos, but I watch one semi-regularly and they're excellent.

For the retro stuff... Yoshi's Island is incredible, possibly my fav game of before 2000.
I'd say Super Mario 64 but I unironically like the DS version more.

I am impressed that you still didn't know the wii had retro console games. The service was shut down in 2019 sadly but if you had bought them back then you can still play them.

I mean... I was already gaming around 2000 so i played "retro" games in that sense. Can't say i've gone back specifically to play games that old recently tho.

i've been to france before and in paris i ate at a chinese restaurant. the price was really good for the amazing meal, unfortunately i dont remember the name of the restaurant :<

yeahhh but it has been slowly replaced by pizza starting the year 2000 and the author claims they wish that they made it pizza, so yeah, it's kinda of a retcon but that is the things way are in the garfield canon
