Apple does have that advantage: Apple products work well with each other. Problem is that you need multiple of them to really take advantage of that AND they're all really expensive AND you really don't need this level of integration unless you're a professional, and even then I would argue that it isn't a necessary thing as much as a quality of life improvement.
Yeah but the thing is you can also do that without Apple, it's not like they do it better than the others
I remember having to work with an Apple fanboy and when I asked why we had to work on Mac he was like "It's great, everything is integrated, I can even have my emails/text messages on both phone and pc, don't need to take out my phone while working etc."
The thing is I'm on Windows and have an Android phone and I can do that too pretty easily, in fact I used to before realising I'd rather have each thing in their own place (but that's just me I guess)
It's also much less relevant now than it was a decade ago considering the ubiquity of SaaS (gmail, Discord... you can even have Steam on your phone, whatever the point of that is)
It was probably a nice thing when it was new but unless you were already trapped in the Apple ecosystem it was never really worth it imo
Oh don't get me wrong, you absolutely can do that on other platforms, but Apple seems to have made it so dumb simple that even a non-computer individual can do it. The fact that such tech is now available elsewhere too just as easily. Take KDE Connect.

Something I forgot about Apple is that the only real usecase I could think of is professional creative applications. It seems Adobe, which is the defacto standard for professional creative work, has better optimization on Macs than on Windows. For music production, everybody swears to Apple for it. I'm not sure why, to be honest why, but they all do. I guess for them, easy transfer between devices, without setup, is a nice bonus. It isn't revolutionary though and for most people, as you said, it is kinda useless.

No chance... I remember a new iphone used to come with those earbuds... not anymore. They're trying to profit as much as possible and people continue to buy it.

Music is what I worked on a Mac for, back then it had Logic Pro, which is a great DAW and from what I heard there wasn't really anything as good for Windows at the time
Nowadays though it seems a lot of professionals switched to Windows so I guess they got better

Worst thing I had to use a Mac for was coding, I'd rather use vim that doing that ever again (but luckily I'll likely never have to write code again)

If you have lowercased the word "Apple" like that => "Apple" then I would have bought of it already, but because it's "Apple" and not "apple" I'm now about to say the n-word to Apple right now! >=(

I dont want an <insert brand here> ecosystem, I just want shit to work with whatever I need it to, not have to pay more money to get something approved by a large corporation so it will supposedly work a bit better.

I have never used apple software before so I wont judge that, but I'm just not willing to try them based on the company and how anti-consumer they are.
Lyawi
I'm more into the design and camera quality compared to other brands. I honestly really dislike how iOS handles apps in background (IRC will disconnect after 30s) and it doesn't seem as stable.

The prime example of how Capitalism can gone wrong. On the plus side they have good software support and their UI is smooth af. But that comes at a cost of repairability and basically starts a bad trends among hardware manufacturers. Such as removing headphone jack and stuffs. Not to mention that they have REALLY BAD integrations outside of their ecosystems (which costs like an arm and a leg). And you have next-to-no control of you files AT ALL (at least in iPhone and iPad since I never used Macs).

Speaking of headphone jacks, I still remembered this ad from Samsung before they basically do the same things lol

If I had to guess, no wires meant a sense of luxury given. If their main headphones weren't wired, why keep having it?

Wired or not, it's the same thing anyway. People need to stop buying wireless things just to feel "luxurious"

Well, why so? I think most people nowadays buy such earphones/headphones because they see them as more convenient than their wired counter-parts, not more luxurious, but I could be wrong.
anaxii
That's because wireless headphones for example are more expensive and less annoying to use, so it appeals to people.

Wireless is pretty stupid for things that are perfectly fine with wire

I personally use an old iphone 11 as my daily driver cuz it's still good enough but when the battery conditions worsens to the point where its gonna be a burden for me I'm switching back to android, I'm gonna get a google pixel and install grapheneOS on it. I don't think I'll ever buy an iphone ever again. It's just not good for the things that I need a phone for.
mayoneeze
They're alright.

I have a fairly neutral relationship as you probably should with any big tech company but I can't exactly be too harsh since I'm typing this on a mac and I'm really satisfied with how the laptop performs and how it fits my usage, same with my old iphone. I really like the sound quality and comfort of Apple wired earbuds too, I'm surprised they still sell them. I felt like typing this since the thread's perspective felt skewed as few here actually use Apple products daily. But a lot of the critique here I find valid too.

For positives, while expensive their laptops are fairly good quality and have better build quality compared to my older laptops. I like how they offer support for outdated devices longer than Android does, my first generation iPhone SE still recieves security updates for example. While their new models are expensive you can always find used models for way cheaper. I like the feel of Apple's in-built software and operating system way more than whatever Windows offers.

That is something I don't really like about Android. It seems to depend a lot on manufacturer. I know Google supports their Pixel phones for 5 years or something like after release, which is pretty good in my opinion, but most manufacturers support, they only support their phones for 2 years or so after release.

Wireless for earphones/headphones for phones does have benefit from not having a wire if you're working out, or otherwise doing a lot of physical activity. It is convenient, but a good pair of wireless IEMs/headphones costs a lot more than a wired pair. IEMs especially can be really cheap (~20€) and still sound fantastic.

I just think wires look annoying and unaesthetic, but thats just me.

as a relationship with the company, I got a decently expensive ($1400) macbook a while ago, and the biggest problem i've had is just with compatibility. otherwise, they're perfect.

For example, I felt like getting a razer mouse (for when I need it) and the biggest issue is just not having an official version of Synapse (the software used to customize the dpi, etc.) and even then, it isn't too important. If I do need to adjust something specific one day, then there are unofficial versions which do support Mac (let alone Apple Silicon, (aka M1, M2, etc.) natively.)

I don't need ultimate customization. I don't need "full" access (I'd probably destroy the entire thing by changing a setting I was curious about its function anyways). All I need is a working computer where I don't have to get into the farthest edges of to make it more convenient or learn what drivers are (eventually, but for now I dont feel like even knowing what it is).

overall, for me its just an easier-to-use product than Windows.

Notes:
as cool as Windows 11 looks, it has ads baked into the "start menu" or whatever you call it now that its at the center. No, I refuse to try windows 10. its not aesthetic enough (/s is for sarcasm, not serious)

I do own a crappy low-end Samsung from 2021, and it isn't bad, but it does feel like the performance, and ONLY the performance was cheaped out on. that's important to me for some reason, and I feel like I want to change that, so I'm saving up for an iPhone 12 mini. (also ive heard that the software experience for macOS and iOS are similar, and I like how macOS works, so thats my more reasonable reason for getting one)

I also know that the price/performance on Macs is worse than most PCs, prebuilt or not, but that won't stop me as someone who doesn't do anything resource intensive (except for every once in a while) (imo)

The fact that Windows on ARM is actually coming as a type of processor available to use on Windows means that Apple Silicon and ARM desktops/laptops are a genuinely good idea that Apple popularized/created and chip manufacturers/whoever thought of the idea believe so.

I did not expect to write a 25-ish sentence essay defending Macs and Apple in general, but here I am.
