mafia to me is a lot harder to play when there's a ton of bells and whistles attached to every post

it was bearable before because the site was otherwise really plain and familiar, but I really don't think I would be able to keep my focus on a game on it the way it is, I'm sorry

it was hard enough as it is on the ToL forums and that was before the endless spam since it was essentially a forum/instant messaging hybrid

How many player do we have right now, Is it still 11 as in the last edit? If so we might want to start the game right now since we are in quarentine. I know 11 player is not ideal but if we can't get the game going in a quarentine I don't think we will ever do it.

Man, I've always wanted to play Mafia, but the Starmen.net forums haven't put one on for at least a year. Maybe the mods on this forum could put on a nice one for beginners I can jump on. I think I know the rules reasonably well enough to play...

I got really lucky that I was actually active in OT when we had that one game a year or two ago. People just don't seem interested in actually putting in the effort to play a game of mafia. Would rather post once every few hours to get necro points.

There didnt see to be much interest in a mountainous game so i'll just Host a Normal instead for a change. It'd take far longer to design a theme.

Another possible alternative is via github issue in a private respiratory. I just made one so we can find someone interested to test it out!

Okay, I may be ready to set one up! The only issue remaining is that since I don't have access to discord, there might be some trouble to set the mafia pt up.
Or since there are only 2 mafias out there, probably pm is acceptable?

Mechanics

Daystart
The nightkill of the Fire Mafia and the Ice Mafia will fail if both groups of mafia target the same person.
The mafia groups have a factional one-time bulletproof.
Fire Mafia kills and Ice Mafia kills have different kill flavor (i.e. the moderator will make it clear which Mafia team was responsible for each kill).
Daytalk enabled

I feel like this is a good guide that new players should read.

While it focuses on how to play as mafia, it also enphasizes the social dynamics the game is all about and i think everyone could learn something from it. Even if you're not rolling Red.
