If you are playing ranged against them then maybe. Playing a melee champion against any of those 3 is one of the most frustrating lanes because you get harassed to shit for the first 10 minutes of the game. The difference between Shyvana, Mundo, and Renekton (to an extent) is that they are boring to play against so there is a pretty significant difference there. I'd take boring over frustrating any day of the week.

The only good thing that will come out of Ryze, Jayce and Kennen being played top every game is that they will get nerfed again which I have no problem with at all.

Oh, so now you actually have to think about successful trading and being more reliant on jungler ganks and stuff like that, it's almost like you have to use your brain in top lane for once

That is, if you have a way to successfully trade. If all you're forced to do is sit under tower and pray someone ganks a Jayce who's in your face without a ward, that's not very fun.

You do realize that ranged can do all of that with even less thought while being even more safe from melee and jungle ganks. Ryze is kind of the only exception here, but he builds tanky to make up for it.

Fact of the matter it's not fun to play against.

3 champions aren't supposed to hard counter a whole role of 10+ champions because they simply have the range on them (this is mostly an over exaggeration at this point). That is a problem and one of the reasons why those 3 champions got nerfed in the first place. Simply saying pick ranged against it is only a bandaid fix to the actual problem.

Honestly I'm not really worried about Jayce and Kennen too much since dorans shield is still very good against them in the early laning phase. It's mostly Ryze that will be a problem.

What if I told you that ranged champions always had a poke advantage over melee champs? That has always been the case and is not a problem, you simply can't always win lane. I'm honestly just happy to see some new old champions back in the top lane again.

I agree on Ryze being a bit too strong right now tho.

That's not the problem because if it was then why ever play a melee champion? The problem is there isn't really a trade off for those champions being ranged when you compare them to other ranged stuff like Sivir for example. If stuff like Ryze, Jayce, and Kennen become the go top laners again it will make that role even more stale when it comes to champion variety. At least the tanks had niche counters.

This is all early speculation. Kennen and Jayce have to break through Dorans shield to stick, but that isn't the case with Ryze.

You can't really compare Gragas to the standard melee when his lowest ranged ability is 600 while being relatively tanky and safe in lane. If I could clear minion waves with Warwick and Trundle with 950 range this wouldn't be an issue. Gragas is a pretty severe issue right now and that's why he is getting reworked.

I never siad they didn't but the lack of tradeoffs for being ranged (on certain champions) is the issue here. This is NOT a ranged is better than melee discussion since what I'm talking about only applies to maybe 3-5 champions in the game.

With that aside I don't understand why gragas isn't played top more. It's just as crazy as Ryze if not worse.

Gragas has free sustain whenever he casts a spell AND he takes less damage when his W is active, other melees don't have that. Also he can easily farm waves with his barrels, obviously he doesn't have trouble laning against ranged champions...

Depending on the matchup, but normally ranged do have advantage over melee, if you don't know how to make the best out of that advantage it's another thing

Professional players play melee against him all the time? he literally hasn't been played at all until the last week of LCS, and when he was finally played he shat all over strong tops like Renekton and Mundo. The ONE team that played Ryze top in LCS so far was CLG, and what happens after they pick him; teams that play against CLG started banning Ryze every game. Yeah pro players sure play melee against him all the time

No? He was picked ONCE in OGN since his buffs by Jin Air Green Wings (literally 0-4 team). The patch hit recently but I guarantee he'll be pick/ban for a lot of teams soon once they get more practiced with him.

Basically the opposite of me.. I've lost like 16 out of my last 20 rankeds and dropped almost 2 divisions in the last week. Funny thing is how I won my lane pretty much every single fucking time, roamed and tried to get other lanes ahead but every time lategame someone decides to be a horrible retarded fucker and throws the game.

..and then I discovered Ziggs. Damn, Ziggs feels good.

shit like automatic perfect cs, automatic skillshot prediction, automatic orb-walking, script that dodges skillshots, spacebar to execute combo

went to the script site forum and saw people being proud of reaching high plat/diamond with scripts

??????

Scripting has been a thing for years now it's just more common to run into now. Riot does nothing about it and has never really acknowledged it actually existing. 3pp's like curse voice are starting to become a thing now too.

It's really sad.

I found bronze really easy if you jungle. Maybe you should try too.

Had games with afks and people just outright feeding and doing stupid shit but mostly won even those.

sigh same thing again was 6/0 in lane with renekton and could easely 1vs2 the enemy top laner and jungler and even then my team always died 4vs 3 to to point that the enemy lb one shotted me and i coudent carry anny more sigh ...

I wouldn't say silver and gold are the same as bronze. Can't kinda put it into words at the moment, but I disagree.

If I had to name division tiers based on my own experience, it'd go like: Bronze - incompetence, Silver - ignorance, Gold - clumsiness, Platinum - hatred, mid-low Diamond - apathy.

I know I'm being very vague here, and there are blurred lines between divisions, but point stands.

If you want to hard carry as a top laner you need to play something that can split push very well, snowballs, or take teleport and make plays. Half the time getting fed in that lane isn't good enough.

Jungle is definitely the best role if you want a lot of influence on your team.

Not being mean, but it's possible that bronze is your skill level. Also stop blaming your losses purely on your team. I suggest getting lolrecorder or baronreplays and watching your games to see what you can improve on.

Well, like I was saying few days ago, some games you just can't win when your team drags you down so hard it's unbearable.

But in bronze specifically people struggle at closing games, I had some with enemy team having more than 30 kills lead and still won those stalling at some point.

Of course, it won't happen every time but in the big picture it should be possible in a plenty of matches that seem lost.

Soloq likes to struggle with closing games in general, it's just that in bronze it's that much of an issue and you can prolong games almost indefinitely given you're better than opponents.

Jungler ganking top min ~ 10:
Bronze: 2vs1 noob, come 1vs1

I stopped using lolrecorder around the time summoners rift got it's first VU. Wouldn't work half the time and would crash me if it decided to work, but one of my friends still uses it and he says he rarely has problems with it.

Why doesn't league have their own replay system yet? The one on the PBE works fine. It's kinda sad that games like Smite have a good replay system before it's even out of beta. Meanwhile league...

It's the same with any normal/rank game. You run into those people who just give up too quickly and with no hope in winning the game. Which causes them to lose for the rest of us. Hell, I've come cross those type of people in a normal and they just continue to feed since it's 'our fault' we're losing....

They needed to be nerfed awhile back, but idk about now since they are no where near as big of a problem as they used to be. That would be like them deciding to nerf Mundo when he is already being phased out of top lane due to indirect nerfs.

I do like the rune changes for the most part though. Armor seals will still pretty much be the same since they buffed champions base armor by 4. Flat health seals might be worth picking up against certain lane matchups now.

I just realised that 4 armor patch will break Ziggs.

Running a full set of scaling seals both HP or Armor will still be dangerous in most matchups (1-2 junglers being the exception here). The flat HP seals are the real big change here. Nothing really changes with the flat armor seals since they +4'd everyones armor so you would still have the same total value as you do pre-nerf.

Now you can start mixing seals. I'm going to start running a mixture of both flat armor and flat HP seals. 3 flat hp seals almost equals a HP quint with the buff.

As of right now flat armor seals pretty much always beats every other seal in most matchups. I'm kinda glad riot is changing this just like they did with the flat MR glyphs back in season 2.

Isn't plat more like "Arrogance"? Every plat I know or have talk to is haughty as fuck because of their league and yet when I play normals with them, they have far better csing than me, but they make the stupidest decisions just because they think they're ahead and just better than their opponent which ends up in them getting killed in lane or ganked.

I don't know. I think staying humble takes you places in this game. There's definitely an impact on gameplay that comes from how you see the game, between "I wanna crush the enemy" and "I want to help my team and work on my mechanics" I think it's a whole different ball game IMO. Probably the reason why I don't play ranked, it probably gets to your head eventually.

Aye i can agree i won like 8 ranked games in a row and i was like omg i am a fucking god gonna own those bronze/silver noobs easy gg , now i already lost like 4 games in a row xD

and ye, csing is prolly the biggest difference between bronze/silver/gold/plat etc. Plat are only more capable of finding useless arguments to explain their faults, like those that you mentioned. I wonder if they'r really more intelligent in dia (plat II-I=dia V-IV tho) ,_,

this is so true. I've been playing in every tier this season on smurfs and plat is just the worst of them all. even when I was 15/0 people still told me they know better and talked me down,it's just a horrible place :/

Yeah, early game he's pretty mana hungry. You can try asking your jungler for a blue buff (if your mid doesn't need it) and you'll be fine ^^.

No way they can make his current model worse than it already is. Warwick reminds me more of a cartoony troll with shitty animations than a werewolf.

Kit wise he is going to be 100000x better (like 90% of his new kit was posted already on twitter) unless you played him in top lane. In which case you might as well refund him and his skins now because lanewick is being removed from the game.

The feral flare jungle item on PBE is pretty much madreds bloodrazer. Going to be a huge buff to late game jungle Warwick assuming the item doesn't get nerfed before it goes live.

One game I had like 350 on hit magic damage (115ish to champions) and around 60 (not including passive so it was almost 90 on hit with max stacks) life on hit. Note life on hit isn't like lifesteal at all since you will always heal for that amount unless grievous wounds. So yeah this item is pretty damn strong on Warwick if he makes it to late game with decent stacks.

Item will be really good on more auto attack reliant junglers like Nocturne, Jax, Yi, Trynd, or Kayle, and Shaco even.

From my experience Bronze /Silver/ (low) Gold are all the same like you said trolls and kiddos i recently duo qued with a diamond 4 player and we played againts plat people and man people in plat throws like crazy i mean they throw even harder then in bronze

The passive confuses me, so pretty much basic attacks deal 33%magic damage right? It also heals you, the thing that confuses me is that fact that the damage and heal is increased every time you get a kill,assist or kill a large monster....does anybody else find that to be weird? Jungle nasus? And won't it make pretty much any jungler another version of nasus? Can somebody explain it to me?

It will bring back farm heavy objective/team fight focused jungles because it rewards efficient balance between farming/ganking and securing vision for a superior dragon position and ensuing team fight.

And no, it's different from nasus. The item only gives stacks on large neutral monster kills and champion kills/assists so it requires you to use your time efficiently as a jungler. Nasus Q gets stacks from any last hit so you can brainlessly farm anything.

It won't be optimal on every jungler. Like you necessarily wouldn't want to build it on junglers like Amumu, Maokai, and Elise.
