im putting this in general all because I'm sure this will be, or is already, pointed out a lot by people so
the sudden minimalistic charting style reminds me of BMS overjoy(^^) ★★4 'angel dust' or '猫蟹丸 - 日溜りの街-あ!'(atm the only two BMS chart I can remember at the top of my head that has quirky stuff like this)
to begin with I think 00:50:908 - is fine and you explained yourself pretty clear 1988382#4738574/12583464 and I agree with it (oh two more examples too)
but imo, i think those charts in particular had the option of doing it because overjoy(^^) is ridiculously hard to begin with, so the sudden contrast to be impactful does work in their favour.
and I think it also just so happens to be a 'break' section in disguise but that's just my opinion
now does it work with your chart? maybe. but personally I could play the whole chart with ease because like this is technically an 'insane' 4K diff and not like, idk, what would 4K of BMS (^^) be equivalent of?
therefore the 'contrast' that was meant to be impactful felt more like a sudden big inconsistency which I think a lot of people is trying to say. Maybe it would work with the less experienced players, but definitely not as well with the better players
but I like quirky things and had a bit of experience with BMS so I understood where the intention was coming from and don't really have an issue with the patterning.
now with this in mind, while I think 00:50:908 - is fine.
I think 00:14:452 - is not fine. Or barely ok
like I would say 00:15:971 (15971|1,16066|1,16161|1,16351|2,16446|2,16541|2,16636|2) - on top diff is probably the hardest pattern to hit among the rest of the chart while still being a build up section. (the music isn't like the 'peak' unlike 00:50:908 - )
I'm not really that confident with my suggestion as well, but I'd suggest charting in the piano as well to compromise for the pattern consistency for reason I've explained above.
for the top diff
You could keep the 00:15:971 (15971|1,16066|1,16161|1,16351|2,16446|2,16541|2,16636|2) - mini jack patterns but maybe try to nerf them a bit I would say 3 notes jackhammer could be the max imo.
And keep them consistent at areas afterwards at places like 00:17:680 - & 00:22:047 - etc
for the lower diffs, I think it's fine since the easy patterning doesn't stick out too weirdly as much. Jut that I would chart in 00:17:775 - a note, following what you did at 00:14:737 -
00:11:211 - personally I think you should make double LNs here because I thought the complexity of the LNs differed greatly from the section beforehand
so I suggest something like 00:11:479 (11479|2,11881|2) - delete notes like these so that you have room to work with for the two LNs
then for diff gap, make 00:11:345 (11345|1,11479|2,11747|0,11881|2) - jacks for the diff gap between top diff & insane
00:59:090 -
01:00:095 - (01:00:497 (60497|2) - should be a 1/4 btw)
01:01:032 - etc
surely these LNs for this section could be more release heavy, considering what you already did for 00:58:354 - ,00:59:827 (59827|1,59961|0) -
so that it plays different from 01:11:211 -
00:49:113 (49113|2) - I think it would've made a looot more sense for 00:49:247 (49247|1) - to be the long LN here instead of the former
00:42:282 (42282|2,42282|3,42416|3,42416|1,42550|1,42550|0,42684|0,42684|2) - personally I feel that these jump placement created an awkward flow in the stream so maybe like
would probably feel better to play
edit:
funny thing I just realised you used this exact pattern at 01:33:711 -
ultimately, 4K is still 4K and I think rigid patterning can work but on a case by case basis. And in this case, I think there should be a compromise between rigid patterning and representation of the music (the piano specifically)
moving on, I think 00:08:376 - 00:09:895 - is fine since the patterning still complements the music imo
but I agree with the suggestion of making 00:09:895 - 00:11:414 - , or at the very least 00:10:655 - 00:11:414 - more balanced. Not cuz it's hard to hit/read, but to represent the lower pitch of the piano better. (piano should be the focus here than the percussions imo)
why don't you try making 00:10:655 - 00:11:414 - column 123 focused for piano, column 4 for kick to your style
honestly I'm fine with the iidx bms patterning style cus I do it myself sometimes too but I think there should be a moderation use to it
I think this is a valid concern to an extent because I did noticed the sudden clump of notes on column 234 during testplay after what you did for the piano section for 00:06:857 - , where I think 1988382#4721757 was trying to bring up
it felt odd because of the sudden inconsistency, especially where this music has the piano as it's main focus imo
I would say parts that was decent enough would be like
00:39:282 (39282|2,39282|0,39329|3,39375|0,39422|3,39492|0,39562|3) -
00:39:843 (39843|3,39843|1,39889|0,39936|2,39983|1) -
00:40:123 (40123|3,40170|2,40216|1,40263|0) - (altho I would say to extend the dump / density all the way to 00:40:544 - since there's where the vocal technically ends)
that you wanna refer to your own chart for improvement
