ByeForNow's Modding History

ultimately, 4K is still 4K and I think rigid patterning can work but on a case by case basis. And in this case, I think there should be a compromise between rigid patterning and representation of the music (the piano specifically) moving on, I think 00:08:376 - 00:09:895 - is fine since the patterning still complements the music imo but I agree with the suggestion of making 00:09:895 - 00:11:414 - , or at the very least 00:10:655 - 00:11:414 - more balanced. Not cuz it's hard to hit/read, but to represent the lower pitch of the piano better. (piano should be the focus here than the percussions imo) why don't you try making 00:10:655 - 00:11:414 - column 123 focused for piano, column 4 for kick to your style 00:13:693 - 00:14:452 - etc
honestly I'm fine with the iidx bms patterning style cus I do it myself sometimes too but I think there should be a moderation use to it I think this is a valid concern to an extent because I did noticed the sudden clump of notes on column 234 during testplay after what you did for the piano section for 00:06:857 - , where I think https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/1988382/discussion/4130627/timeline#/4721757 was trying to bring up it felt odd because of the sudden inconsistency, especially where this music has the piano as it's main focus imo
seems fixed for the most parts, breaks like 04:11:805 - which i think you missed out since the guitar extends from 04:11:525 - to 04:12:366 - 04:17:833 - here too
01:54:336 -
01:54:336 - apply changes to here too if anything
01:20:184 - same deal here at places like 01:22:327 (82327|3,82461|1,82595|2,82729|0,82863|1) - but maybe not as important since you already had interesting patterns like 01:24:068 - and LN jumps
applies to kiai section
remember to make changes to 02:40:403 - section too if you do
I would say parts that was decent enough would be like 00:39:282 (39282|2,39282|0,39329|3,39375|0,39422|3,39492|0,39562|3) - 00:39:843 (39843|3,39843|1,39889|0,39936|2,39983|1) - 00:40:123 (40123|3,40170|2,40216|1,40263|0) - (altho I would say to extend the dump / density all the way to 00:40:544 - since there's where the vocal technically ends) that you wanna refer to your own chart for improvement
01:52:468 -
apply to 03:23:905 - too
Or, maybe you could leave the first kiai section as it is, and apply it to 01:21:352 - the later section instead where it has a higher pitch and everything or idk, maybe have LN chords instead for this pitched up section at every section end 01:21:352 - ,01:22:309 - ,01:23:267 - etc instead of just 1 LN
apply to similar sections like 00:32:841 - , 01:57:096 - , etc
another example is 00:25:501 (25501|0) - i would suggest deleting this. 00:25:182 (25182|1,25182|0,25341|1,25341|0,25501|1,25501|0) - like you can see the issue here if you delete the note, it would play exactly like 00:26:139 (26139|3,26139|1) - which you did for the snare which i think is a nice touch too one last example where 00:26:458 (26458|1) - to be deleted so 00:26:458 (26458|1,26458|0,26778|0,26778|1) - can be distinguishable from each other and lastly (yeah I meant it when it's a lot), pattern consistency at 00:23:746 - , 00:33:958 - etc where I think it should've been 1/4 LNs considering what you did at 00:28:852 -
So, my suggestion is to compromise some of the jumps. For example, 00:23:905 (23905|3) - I would suggest deleting this note solely for the purpose of just highlighting the flute & piano on this section of pattern 00:23:746 - 00:24:544 - It doesn't always mean that if you have a kick/snare there, you should add a note there/ it HAS to be a jump to represent it. deciding to add a note on a case by case basis would allow you to have more room to work with and sometimes make the pattern stand out better. another example would be 00:29:012 (29012|3) - could probably be deleted too. tho another issue here is 00:29:331 (29331|2) - LN is probably misused since I don't think there's a piano here
update the pattern at 00:38:987 - to match whatever pattern you've decided on if agree
could probably apply similar concept to 01:24:462 - 01:27:237 - too but reversed
okay like I really feel that these LNs should be extended to match the vocal tho 02:14:513 (134513|1) - , 02:18:415 (138415|2) - etc but it's just me tho if you agree, do apply the change to top diff too
could apply to places like 01:07:044 - too
anyways back to the topic of LN pattern: though for my case, I looked at your other diffs and since you already did it with the lower diffs let's just roll with it, since i think it still plays fine. my issue with this section is how jarring it transitions into the LN pattern due to 00:17:046 (17046|0,17213|1) - because unexpected pattern variation I would either suggest sticking to what you did for hard diff making 00:17:046 (17046|0,17213|1) - normal note and let the LN focus be 00:17:379 - 00:18:379 - section or maybe map in the lower guitar at 00:16:546 - & 00:16:879 - as well so that this pattern feels more more complete as a whole imo apply to later part 01:17:048 - & insane too if agree
honestly i agree with pointing this out, it did felt rather out of place imo for the same reason as mentioned. repeating the section once is alright, since it is going to be differentiated by 00:21:375 - section (though i would suggest deleting 00:21:876 (21876|0,22543|2) - since i think it would emphasis this section more as majority of this section is continuous 1/2 patterning already, but I guess you had to do it for diff gap unless you don't mind nerfing the lower diffs)
looks good
yeah you can mark mods resolve as you see fit, suggestions are suggestions so it's not that you 100% have to apply everything btw. unless they're issues like https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/2295598/discussion/4902690/timeline#/4742874 sorry if it was lengthy, good luck!
00:52:365 (52365|3,52365|2) -
02:20:899 -
00:29:844 (29844|2) - to 1 etc if agree 00:32:046 -
remember to rework this section for top diff too if you agree
00:20:899 - , 00:23:101 - you did it here lol, maybe buff here for the piano chord then
00:07:197 (7197|2,7550|0,7903|3,8256|1,74962|1,75314|3,75667|1,76020|3) - adjustment to these too to match the difficulty if you agree
00:15:667 (15667|0,16373|2) - etc
03:03:478 -
02:18:827 - like what you did here is a lot better, but maybe for this part, I would just extend these LNs instead 02:18:827 (138827|0,139001|1,139176|2) -
00:20:396 - same thing here
00:15:338 - then, since the piano starts from here and it seemed you did had the intention of charting it based on what you did here 00:16:210 (16210|0,16384|1,16559|2) - , why not make a pattern to focus on the piano here instead
01:48:065 - same here etc
and if you decide to go with the ln suggestion, you could represent them at 00:12:815 - too to keep it consistent
00:37:276 - similar
00:18:633 - honestly applies to here too but this is just me being picky maybe
also like, i think this bridges the diff gap between your top diff and hard diff better imo
next, 00:23:382 (23382|1,23470|2,23559|1) - transition from 00:22:786 (22786|2,22963|2) - where it just suddenly turned into rice notes (why are these LNs anyways since you were using them for synths, i think it would be nice to keep them rice to be distinct). or if you really prefer them to be LNs maybe make 00:23:294 (23294|3,23294|2,23382|1,23382|0) - 1/4 LNs for better pattern transition
02:10:538 - :joy:
00:47:438 - etc
apply to 00:45:638 - this section too, give it a try instead of everything are 2 notes jumps, gives you more columns to work with too
kay so, adding onto to this, to be blunt, I think this section is borderline too much to be enjoyable, therefore would suggest to nerf some parts I think you can still make it a very fast kind of jack patterns. so sticking true to the feel of section, following the rhythm of the insane diff, would suggest remove these notes 00:44:213 (44213|3,44663|3,45113|3) - etc, so that it's not continuous 200bpm jacks tone down the jump jack usages, I think with a pattern like this for example at 00:43:838 - ![](https://i.gyazo.com/c95fab7aba3ca8422a93a0af10aeda93.png), choosing specific sounds to emphasise makes it feel more distinct instead of everything is just 2 notes jump you get what i mean?
01:16:538 -
03:06:059 - ,03:07:559 - ,这里也
03:15:755 -
01:46:644 - like stuffs like these just feels out of place than complement the music imo
01:20:867 - etc
like I played through the whole chart and I think you only use full inverse (sparingly) at build up sections like 00:14:644 - , 03:50:642 - once again, the flow of pattern ; I'm highly against going from full rice to sudden full LN vice versa etc. But it's just me so do as you see fit
