So I'm sure everyone here knows Antarctica, it's a continent with extremely cold temperatures. Not much people live there, and they don't live there permanently. The continent is "owned" by 7 different countries. Can't explain much but would you live there if you could?

Me personally, I would try, because I've never experienced winter and I have never touched pecked snow. Surely it wouldnt be that cold there. RIGHT?
Lyawi
I'm already freezing cold in winter when it's 0 / -10 celcius in my place. In absolutely no world I would consider going there even if it was for only one day
ClevelandsMyBro

nevermind I changed my mind I am not living there If I could
myangelkonata
Too used to it being cold in winter. Would NOT be hard.
Realistically, NO. I like our 3 months of it being hot!
Wimpy Cursed
I very much like being a comfy little fuck
so no, I want my warmth
Jun Maeda
I wouldn't even recommend it, no.
Patatitta
also, the day/night cycle is fucked on antartica, you got 6 months in a row of day followed by 6 months in a row of night

[-Omni-]
do you KNOW how cold it is there
MistressRemilia
Oh absolutely. I love the cold so much more, I prefer it snowy outside, and I love penguins. Also I would see almost no one, which would be a huge plus for me.

I'm a complete summer type of person, I'd rather take on the scorching heats than colds of Antartica any day.
synthwavesquid
it seems *almost* ideal for me (i handle cold way way better than heat, less people, summer is miserable for me) yet it's very likely i'd lose my mind from the monotony of the environment

well, unless it was in the context of a research facility or something
Doom Mood
id rather live on a dry and wet season in an urban setting rather than just a cold, snowy place with nothing else to look around. however, it'd be cool to visit in a short period of time.

I love the cold, but the place looks too lonely.
KillJoy
The cold is a no for me. I'd also want to pet the Polar Bears which wouldn't go very well

tbh Antarctica isnt just a cold snowy place with nothing else to look around, it has penguins and cool shaped icebergs that might be really fun to take photos of.other than that, yeah its way too cold and not much to look around

I don't know your experience, but growing up in Malta (Mediterranean, south of Sicily) I romanticized the cold and told myself that I liked it. This narrative in my mind was especially strengthened by past days from when I was very young and living in America where I would be inside, warm and cozy while watching snow fall. Then, I moved back to the US. Then, I had to go out in -30C(-20F) temperature and go to class. Then, I knew I didn't like the cold. I figure this is how it would be for a LOT of people living in warmer climates.

Still, no. I wouldn't disconnect from society.

There is a society in Antarctica! It's just composed of thousands of scientists and tourists who visit the continent for many reasons
