what's this huge explosion in mania and how do i turn it off?

Problem details:
recently changed skins and now there's a big explosion when i hit notes in mania. i already have hit lighting turned off so i have no clue what it is. how do i fix it?

change the skin. does it still have the explosion even on other skins?

This is because of your skin that you are using. Go into the skin folder and try to find the image that causes this. I am not a skinning professional so I do not know which one does that, but it should not be too hard.

These are lightingL.png and lightingN.png file. To remove that entirely, replace these files with a transparent 1x1 PNG file.
