We've finally arrived at the end of the line. To think that this whole tournament started from this simple image. Now it has grown into one of the most fiercest fights in all of waifu history.

We musn't forget all of the other competitors who came so close, yet so far. Everyone in this tournament has dedicated their whole being to grab the title as the best waifu in the 2nd Edition of Waifu Wars, the greatest title you can ever have as a waifu.

Now the remaining waifus here are not just the cream of the crop, they embody near pefection itself. But who's closer to perfection? We'll just have to go and see...

And the winner... for the The Great OT! Waifu Wars 2: The Finals battle is...

No way... I can't believe this...

Ladies and gentlemen... in The Finals of The Great OT! Waifu Wars 2... Both of our competitors have ended in a tie!!!



This has to be one of the most surprising events in The Great OT! Waifu Wars 2 yet! To think that a tie would occur this far in the tournament is just downright preposterous! It seems that our voters couldn't make a clear decision at all!

It seems that we have to rely on our trusted tiebreaker to settle this for the final time.

And the winner... for the The Great OT! Waifu Wars 2: The Finals battle is...

In terms of general popularity, Polyspora has stood no possible chance winning against the 2nd most popular waifu in the history of waifus, Rem! In terms of ranking, Rem has completely beat Polyspora in every aspect, with her rankings in the Top 2 while Poly's in the Top 3000s!

When it comes to a different playing field, this battle is just a walk in the park for Rem! When everyone expected Polyspora to win, our veteran waifu Rem took the spot instead! This is possibly the greatest upset in waifu history!

Preparing for the The Grand Finale, she moves on!!!


Never could I predict that this would be the result of the filled board. In just one picture, a story, is told. The battlefield that took place during the many months of battles is the image that you see here, and now it's finally time to end The Great OT! Waifu Wars 2 in one last battle.


Taking place in the underground battles, a completely different audience of voters watches as my wife Momosuzu Nene slowly makes her way through the more difficult Loser's Bracket and ultimately gets her chance back to become the winner of the 2nd Edition of Waifu Wars!

Ladies and gentlemen, here comes the final battle in the The Great OT! Waifu Wars 2: The Grand Finale! Every single battle so far has contributed to the eventual battle of the 2 greatest waifus of this tournament.

Rem is a character from the Re:zero franchise and is a maid of Margrave Roswaal L. Mathers alongside her sister, Ram.

She tends to speak in a superficially polite manner with a soft voice and sometimes acts without thinking.

Rem has a kind heart with a soft personality and holds great respect towards those who saved her and her sister from dangerous situations. She is also strong-willed by the fact that she will still follow Subaru despite him rejecting her.

Momosuzu Nene is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber associated with Hololive, debuting as part of its fifth generation of VTubers alongside Yukihana Lamy, Shishiro Botan, Mano Aloe and Omaru Polka.

Nene is a cheerful, bubbly, and friendly girl who loves to talk and sing. She dreams of becoming an idol and having her own anime opening song. my point is, I think the fact that polyspora is an OT user, should be worth more than rem being loved in another, different website, it should either been called as a tie due to the lack of rules for this scenario or just give the win to polyspora

Poly was here because you guys choose him to be here to begin with. If you guys nominated and picked an actual anime character that actually has popularity in the Free-for-all battle then they had more of a chance in the rules that I initally made for this tournament.

I never expected for the chosen free-for-all character or any other character for that matter in this tournament to win against any character that has more popularity than them. The tiebreaker system was designed so it can easily resolve any ties so as to not elongate this tournament and put more work on myself. It just so happens that a tie occured between a more popular and a less popular character that you guys picked. A character's background should not affect the results of the tie.

Every waifu battle is during a 3-days period. Any votes after that is void. I just set it to 5 days so as to not reveal the results before I make the new thread about it since I'm rather busy with personal and academic matters.

i mean now that stomiks explained what he's trying to say, i can't help but sort of be in the middle. while i do think the tiebreaker system is bullshit, stomiks made the tie breaker system like that, and we can't really do anything about it.

2- the system was not absolute, since you added characters that would not apply to that rule, the system was flawed, and you knew of it, the fact that you did nothing about it, killed polyspora only to resurrect your fucking vtuber from the dead for an extra match, what the fuck dude

That's right. If the chosen character didn't appear in the mywaifulist database, I'd probably just do some bullshit move and decide popularity from something like views on a video or something. And since this is waifu wars, in respect to its disrespect for waifus, I can't have this whole tournament be civil and proper y'know? Such is the essence of waifu wars.

Cause they didn't vote for her? The number of votes are what I only count as a win. Outside factors don't count unless a tie happens and then a popularity judgement occurs. And I don't understand why you're using myanimelist as a figure for my popularity judgement, I use mywaifulist.

And measuring popularity on OT is just your idea of breaking ties. There could be several other suggestions for the tiebreaker if you guys have an idea.

I am the host of the 2nd Edition of Waifu Wars first and foremost. If you want a different take on things then you could host the 3rd Edition yourself if you wanna, you've already met the qualifications for doing so.

how about instead of all of this complicated stuff, you just redo the whole round again? if it happens, you redo, again and again. or as another guy said, coin flip it. or maybe you could have 2 AIs play rock paper scissors. idk how you'd get the AI, but there are a few very basic coding languages that could be used to make the AIs..

The waifulist tie-breaking system, When not used in the finals, is superior than what I implemented during the first war (which is me literally hand-picking who I like more). But since this is the finals and poly is not even in the database, it's more appropriate to held a re-vote. Yes he has Tewi Inaba as his pfp. But he's not Tewi Inaba. (Although It's true that it's quite time-consuming to format the waifu war lol)

But at the end of the day, I, as the original creator, meant to be a fun tournament not to be taken seriously as opposed to what's held in r/anime.

Yeah just do that the next waifu wars comes around. I'm really busy on top of being sick rn so I barely have any time to implement new ideas nor am I willing to do so.

and yeah, having your waifu always as a grand finals is actually just rigging the tournament which kinda ruins the whole fucking point of the thread

I don't treat poly as any different in this tournament. Everyone is treated as an anime waifu and will follow the rule that you stated in the first phrase. I don't get why you think I give poly different treatment when all I did was follow the rules that I've always gone through since the very beginning.

it's different treatment, since you knew that the system did not really work for polyspora, and did nothing to really prevent it

The system will not be in favor for anyone who isn't as popular as the character they're facing against. Doesn't matter if it's poly himself or another character.
