To change the width of the column, add this (or set if they already exists) in skin.ini
For the images I hope you don't have only png files... If you try to augment the size of the image you wouldn't gain in quality and the images will be blurry (and ugly). So you have to recreate with a program like Photoshop the elements...
[Mania] Keys: 4 ColumnWidth: 45,45,45,45...where the "45" from ColumnWidth is the width of the column. If you want wider column you should increase these numbers. I don't know what the value to have what you want so you have to test...
