do you enjoy playing slower charts for the music's sake or do you feel like you need to always be playing hard stuff

i do not play mania but i think at least one mania player will resonate how i approach standard:

sometimes i like to relax with slower maps but a main reason i play rhythm games is to challenge myself (not to be good per se but just for the fun of the challenge and the thrill)

when i used to play i did not like to play anything bellow 3 stars

Answer A: slower chart if the song is a banger

I suppose charting slower stuff is just intrinsically a good thing anyway since it's good for newer players
considering charting this, it'd have to be for 6k or 7k though since 4k doesnt have enough space

playing hard stuff

slow would put me to sleep

I don't feel the need to constantly play harder picks.. I don't think I'd be enjoying the game with shit ass 200+ bpm songs in my ear every session anyway.

Give the lower star maps a chance as well (<= 3*), can find some bangers. Applies to song choice and perhaps patterning within a map, although it's rare.

slow stuff can still be hard stuff

but usually lower bpm songs i play them as warmups to maps focused on streams and jacks

I'm talkin like
single note 1/4th streams at 90 bpm

realistically that's the only way to chart stuff like the song I linked, a dump wouldn't be appropriate

Oh sorry usually slow songs for me are just LN finger control maps

Usually I'd play a 3 star map at the minimum if I want to vibe to the music
