Yeah, knowing who you can go 1v1 against takes a bit of time to get used to.

Haha and yeah, fighting under an enemy tower definitely is not a good idea unless you know you can kill under it and escape without dying. Each turret hit deals 2 bars of damage (200 health), so judge accordingly if you are going to actually do something like that. XD

Well, i've got a few more days of playing during which i can blame all my failures on me being a beginner. After that, either i start getting better or i don't and i start stabbing myself and quit. =D

Also, with Youumuu's Ghost Blade (not sure of spelling, can't remember it), is it a homage to Touhou/something else or vice versa?

A lot of people on games like League of Legends are still beginners (or making very beginner mistakes) even if they have been playing for months. XD

And yeah, a lot of items in LoL's shop are references to other games. You are correct about Youmuu's Ghostblade. :D

Really? I would have imagined that many people play LoL and other such games because they've converted from DotA and consequently have an intrinsic knowledge of the game mechanics.

In any case, i guess i'll take it as it comes. What i have now is 1.) don't buy champs until you've played with them and know what's fun and what's not and 2.) don't waste ip on runes before lvl 20 summoner.

And 3.) don't attack champs under enemy towers. -.-

Tomorrow morning = LoL marathon. Wake up at 5 to start queuing... go back to sleep for 4 hours... wake up at 9 and play. =D

LoL is incredibly different from DotA and HoN. I don't know how many DotA players I showed LoL to, only to have them flip it off and move to HoN.

XD DotA players are much more likely to have higher stats than you and will be queued with others who have similar stats since they already understand the game mechanics.

I used to play some HoN back when it was in beta but stopped when it went retail and cost $30 for an account. I only play LoL off and on now on nights when I feel like dealing with the community. Haha if you were on US servers, I would be up for playing a game or two with you, but I see you're on EU. XD Best of luck to you, lol.

@Xi: IMO, I think DotA would be top tier in terms of difficulty, while HoN is a step below, leaving LoL on the bottom. LoL certainly is very casual in comparison to DotA and HoN. It's much more fast paced and you don't have to worry about denying towers or creeps or other teammates and you don't have to buy an item in order to recall back to your base. lol

Sivir is definitely not a great choice for killing champs at the moment, she's in need of serious buffs and is only really good for pushing at the moment

you can only afford to buy 1 champion, really

the rest of your ip has to be saved up for when you hit level 20 to buy tier 3 runes, otherwise you'll be at a pretty big disadvantage

Yeah, each game (if you win) gives you around 90 to 110 PI. Derp champions 6.300 PI :/



Ranked one, I tought we were going to loose (derp 4 carrier).

You guys, prefer to buy runes instead of champions?. I haven't bought runes yet, I just want to own all the champions >_<.

Playing as Annie, i tend to lag behind somewhat early game in terms of levelling (don't know why), but get a lot more kills because of huge burst potential. And she's just sooooooooo cuuuute :3

I have always thought soraka sucked and still do. She sucks for the same reason morgana sucks: high cooldowns, useless afterwards. What's worse is that soraka actually provides less support than morgana, and substantially less damage. Soraka is just an aura bot basically.

I guess some people just weigh her health/mana restoration early game heavily.

Ahah, awesome IP boost.

Anyways i've been playing the game some more (as Kassadin) and i'm starting to notice that, much of the time, our turrets and inhibitors start to get smashed BEFORE we can push on into their base and take their Nexus. I have this moment in the last 10 mins of the game that they're going to win, and then miraculously we start working as a team and push back.

My question is, does this often happen, or am i/other random solo queuers just bad at teamwork?

(suspect it might somewhat be the latter)

It happens A LOT, at least in my case, I've won a lot of matches after almost surrendering and/or being defeated, an ace or an ambush can make the difference you know.

nah I do it so my buddies can have an easier time against smurfs on opposing teams, and also because they won't be able to handle level 20s if I play on my lv30 lol

and that I like it when 5 people start chasing me and 2 of them end up dying...

Started playing HoN though, as it is £6, so I thought it would be good, and if you like LoL, you'd like HoN. :P

So i played some Twisted Treeline earlier today, and found it much easier than Summoner's - not just in terms of pushes being much easier. I got a lot more early game ganks (as Kassadin) than on Summoner's and got on with mah build much quicker.

You really need at least 8 points in Utility for the exp mastery though.

It's a bit more complicated but the basics are the same - ganking, farming, teamfights... it's a bit harder in that the items are a bit IMO, but it's got more champions, as is really fun :D

I wonder. What makes a person want NOT to play a map perfectionised over 6 years, and instead take an unbalanced new one?

Also, if you like fun you will like HoN. But HoN was really only good up too like 8-10 months ago. Now they have realized DotA 2 is on the way, and they are spewing out skins and heroes for people to buy. And that leads to no time for game and hero balancing.

imo LoL does not require so much skill as DotA. You don't have to be good to be good. Ofcourse it has some comfortable functions which the 6 years older DotA does not have. But DotA 2 will solve this Problem.

This. Cant wait for DotA 2. I have REALLY high hopes for it, and so does the competitive community. I believe valve have a really high pressure on this one, but again, that's what they're used to

While it doesn't, it provides more "fun" factor, which is what ultimately is what a game should be. LoL is fun because you get to try out different things that you wouldn't dream of seeing in DotA.

As for built in flash, not really, imo what they should look at is the champions that are weak(heimer, veigar etc~ that not many ppl play) this will create diversity in picks which will ultimately benefit everyone.

Heimer and Veigar (rofl) are not weak by a long shot. Veigar does rely on earlygame a lot tho, but well, who does not?

Oh yea, it's hard to get cs as non ranged bot :s If the enemies would have had a support to support jarvan, it might look bit different tho.

They are. Heimer provides nothing more than defences for towers when he can't even defend himself, he also deals mediocre damage for an "AP carry" and steals quite a lot of farm which could've been used for other things.

veigar admittedly is not weak, however, his escape mechanism is really low, and he only really deals good damage on mages, other than that unless he's really fed, veigar is undeniably weak. His laning phase is quite weak tbh.

In normal games, yes but in elo higher than 1300, they're considered as weak and I haven't seen any good veigars/heimer above it, tehy barely pick them

Chaox wasn't always as high/ I wasn't always at low. When I actually bothered to play ranked we were in the same elo. Also, my normal elo is the same at many of the top players so I've played again 2.1k+ players all the time. Stop assuming I'm bad

I'm not assuming that you're bad (my elo is lower than yours anyways since I haven't played ranked a lot, only got high normal elo hahaha). I just couldn't believe that matchmaking was THAT bad okay. I never got queued with anyone who had an elo difference that was higher than 200 :c, so I was kinda wondering. That's all there is to this.

It doesn't prove whatsoever that veigar is OP, nor does it prove that veigar is not UP. I can own with Master Yi against any player, but is he considered op?

Veigar damagewise is good, could even outburst any AP champ, but if you look at his mobility, the range of his skill and his laning phase, he falls quite hard. Have you ever laned veigar against vlad, malz or even nidalee? They own veigar, which is what veigar will definitely most likely to face against, and do you know what those guys have that veigar doesn't? Sustainability, and most of them have a good ability to escape.

And please, if you're owning Chaosx please give me a replay in a ranked AT, not solo queue, even HotshotGG/Bigfatjiji lose on solo queue.


As for Elo, some people queue with substantially higher elo so you'll definitely will get queued with soemone with 1600+ elo. For example, I queue'd with my friend from 1200+ elo and I was 1400, we were faced with 1300 elo. Matchmaking system imo is fair, it can't be perfect as sometimes it will screw up but not too often to be called broken.

TF is pretty annoying to play now that they nerfed his ulti range, it's reaaaally small :|
