[FINISHED] Rate Your OT Thread

This thread is an experiment

Starting from this very moment, Every single OT thread that is posted for an indefinite ammount of time will be mentioned here with a simple form, you can rate that thread from 1 to 10, this thread, will feature a leaderboard of the best threads which will be the average score of all user ratings. All this ratings will be anonymous so please be honest

I want to see if the existance of this rating system will affect the OT meta in any way of form, as I personally believe that threads like "thread of the month" or "shitpost of the month", does have a pretty big influence in OT culture

If this thread gets enough attention I may consider giving prices for making 8/10 threads or higher, see how that affects OT

If for some reason you cant rate, tell me your score over osu DM or discord

I will update this thread every day or so

I can already say that my suspicion is that threads will slow down. Also, I think you should get prepared to hear some secret beef that will never come out of people unless they get really irked by the person/group they're annoyed with.

You know, while I think it's a neat idea, I don't know if it is a good thread. We all have different subjective tastes and measuring how good something is can be, and often is, futile, in my opinion. A good thread for me was the Android recommendation one. I actually liked it, but it seems to have died, sadly.

Score calculation and formating is automatic, having to create the form manually and check for threads I must do it manually, however I already have a form template so just duplicate and change name

Update on the thread: seems that what winnyace was pretty spot on, the average thread on OT per day has reduced drastically, we could easily expect 5-7 daily threads before the AMA meta but now we're at half of that, not only that, but for two pretty identical threads, one has considerably higher ratings. I wouldn't call it favoritism mroe than people feel bad rating one certain thread, which is completely fair. TBF I didn't think of those type of threads when making this thread. It's also interesting to see that most threads currently are from the shitpost people who doesn't care if their thread gets locked or not. I don't see anyone else posting.

There are a lot of people posting a thread like 30 minutes after it gets made but almost no new threads, honestly I feel this is the first time i've seen something like this happen on OT

It's only been 2 days but tbf half of you guys don't even put 10 minutes of thought into any thread so I think these are fair observations

Also can you filter the leaderboard by score: highest score being at the top lowest score being at the bottom, or is it too hard?

it's not hard but I had it just in order of when threads were made, will update if that is what you wish

It looks much neater and more like a leaderboard, also maybe include the name of the person who made the thread next to the title? so people dont get confused with the titles.


Also when the leaderboard get too crowded in the future will you make a new one? maybe like one per month.
