if moonmen got declined loved and it had proper difficulty spread, proper timing, the patterns weren't copy-pasted, and the individual difficulties were creative in their own right, how is this supposed to get loved?
Honestly does it really even matter that much? No one's gaining rank from it, there are plently of worse ranked maps, and if some people love the map then why not let the map have the "loved" status? I know it could be setting a bad standard for loved maps, but the way I see it there never really was a "standard", only the 30 second drain time requirement and metadata requirements. Thats how loved should stay; a potential way for maps to achive a leaderboard status, even if they dont meet the ranking criteria.
Please educate yourself with school before engaging in online arguments.

imo loved voting system needs some kind of rework. A map like this is clearly "loved" by the community (10mill plays 6k favs) but obviously this will never pass the voting, same as stuff like goodbye moonmen. Maps like these will never be loved with the current system even though they are clearly "loved" maps.
can we please not have copy-pasted patterns in loved? thanks.

Personally I don't think that this map is fitting to be loved, but I don't see any harm in letting people vote on it (even if it takes nomination place). Getting results for it would be an interesting community survey at the very least

Frankly I think our current system is quite good and fair. If a map is so problematic that it warrants such a large amount of the community speaking out and voting against it, there's clearly an issue at play. Of course, our current system favor's the voices of the more ingrained, dedicated, community members, but that seems appropriate given said community members are generally much more knowledgeable and experienced with the game, and far more capable of giving a critical review of a map.FinnaDie wrote:

I completely and 100% agree with this statement. Looking back, this map is pretty ass ,but it helped me with my jump training when I was a newly made 6 digit. Obviously this map isn't going to get loved, but just the fact that it's up for nomination is a big positive. Maps with lots of favorites, like this, is what project loved is for, its much better to let the community decide on a map with thousands of favorites, than a map with 60 favorites that only got selected because lvd staff liked it. I mean just look at the community engagement on this map compared to something like Mousou Happy End from January. Sometimes a popular map will get rejected sometimes it wont, but the fact that staff are letting us decide is a big step forward.
